Hah that's a good joke I hate double parkers

reni 03-06-2014 08:38 PM

The only way I would have found that funny would be if someone caught him in the act and bashed the guy's face in. Defacing someone's car is not cool, even with "fake" paint.

If someone is taking up two spaces in a full lot they should get a ticket. However, most of the time people do this they are parking far away from everyone else in a lot that will never get full, in an attempt to avoid door dings. Mostly this video was just a sad reminder that in the US you either have the choice of parking next to other cars and getting a huge gash in the side from their door, or parking away from other cars and getting vandalized. (I can't even count the number of horror stories where people get keyed or something because they parked far away, even when not double parked)

leicaboss 03-06-2014 08:42 PM

Haha, I've seen those guys around before near where I'm from in SoCal. Plastidipped FR-S stockies - female owner?

myEFispissed 03-06-2014 08:51 PM

This guy will be murdered soon.

I hate how people get all pissy about someone taking up two parking spaces. I always take up two spaces but i always park away from people to avoid dings because people don't care about theirs or your car.

Hell, even if you take two spots up in the front i still don't care. I'm not going to park in the front. Trying to avoid the body shop for as long as possible.

I call B.S. If you really DID park away from all other people, there would be no need to double park.

zinzan 03-06-2014 09:19 PM

I park on an end spot and right up against that line, so the guy next to me has extra room. And I don't park up front.

I think double parkers are asking for it. They come off as self-important.

Demotic 03-06-2014 09:25 PM

This man is my new HERO. (yes in all caps) People that park bad are my biggest pert peeves. Not only double parking but those that know they are in a populated area and still park in a way that that entire curb section becomes useless.

Actually i do take two spaces 90% of the time. Because when i do take a single spot further away...Some asshole comes and parks next to me. Doesn't make any sense.

Luis_GT 03-06-2014 09:30 PM

Everyone that says the guy should be murdered are the same self absorbed people that double park and think they can justify that double parking is fine... No sorry, fuck you, you deserve to have your car keyed and or destroyed for being a ****. and those who park far away are also asking to get dings.

If I was inclined to mess with double parkers, I would NOT do the spray paint. But I WOULD leave a note indicating that something to the effect of "I backed into your car by accident, however, I do not have insurance. So I guess you are s*** out of luck. Sucks to be you." And watch them freak out looking for the (non-existent) dent. Of couuse, I'd never really do this... :happyanim:

if i'm ever in OK, and I see you double parked, I will park as close as possible to you anyways.

Hotrodheart 03-06-2014 09:42 PM

Hey Slow 86, how much did your parents pay for your FR-S?

Say what you will, but i've had it happen to every car i've owned. Someone either backs into my car or a get a nice size ding. This is my first new car, going to try to keep it dent free for as long as possible.

Hotrodheart 03-06-2014 09:45 PM

Say, Slow 86, come to think of it, those handicapped parking spaces are rather wide. Try those; there is little chance of getting door dinged there.

And I applaud the guy who did that, he probably knows you double park.

But that's not how everyone looks at it. Majority of the people want to park as close as possible. Someone double parking right in front... is well a douche bag. Parking away from cars is fine, but IMO, double parking even away from everyone else is 'attention drawing'

I actually paid for this on my own. I'm probably older than you think.

Hopefully, no one in OKIELAND has a can of spray paint.

I am sure that you do. But I think you are too dense to realize that this INCREASES the chance of your car being damaged. Think about it kid....

P.S. Pickup truck in Oklahoma? Hard to believe.

LadyFRZ 03-06-2014 10:11 PM

Great that there's more female owners, too bad this female parks like an asshole. :sigh:

zoltiz 03-06-2014 10:15 PM

I live in the city, park in a very busy parking garage at work and I still manage to do it without being a d-bag to fellow inhabitants.

Don't double park. Also, good prank.

If I did that and got spray painted, I'd consider it a good lesson and would laugh it off. I also got backed into in a parking lot by a barely English speaking Mexican lady and let her go when she started crying. I'm weird like that.

Wtf?! How is parking away from the crowd asking for trouble? The ONE time I was forced to park next to someone due to it being a small parking lot I ended up with 2 dings in less than 30 minutes. Thankfully it only took $100 to get the dents removed and $15 for touch up paint for fill in the deep scratch.

Fuck parking next to people. In Texas there's nothing but college students who couldn't park their oversized truck within the lines for a blow job.

I had my Genesis Coupe for 2 years without 1 door ding. Normal people don't give a shit if someone is parked far away. Only losers would think they deserve to be fucked with. How old are you again?

Some people are assholes and think because you park away from people, that you are "too good" or some shit like that. 100% of the times,it's just people being jealous.
Also, heard that. I park at the end of an aisle and leave a ton of room in the space so people don't park next to me, and what happens when I come out? 99% of the times, they're at an angle, in my space. WTFFFFF, learn to parrrrkkk.I have so many door dings and scrapes, it's kind of ridiculous.

Also,at a side note.Someone hit another car while trying to park. They tried covering up the scrape with a whiteout pen LOL.

Also. There's a shitton of spaces. But where does the beater SUV park? Next to the brand new GTR. Fuck them.

oldpueblo 03-06-2014 10:23 PM

Your car is going to get hit eventually, deal with it. Don't take up two spots ever, you may park in the back but how do you know the parking lot won't be full when you come back out? Or if you park in the back you don't need two spots. It's a car, it's meant to be driven/used, it's gonna see some wear. Live with it.

fstlane 03-06-2014 10:35 PM

After seeing someone drive across a nearly empty Target parking lot and crash into a big red cart stall, I realized it doesn't matter where you park or how many spots you use. Most people don't pay attention or care about your car.

I understand that, but when 50% of the states drives a pickup and A LOT of them are big enough to where they require two spots, i don't feel so bad.

And yeah, living on the edge of town, a pickup is required.

I've parked the M3 between beaters, and in 3 years it has yet to get a door ding.

Lucky ass! Before my Gen Coupe I had a new rental car for 2 days and got 3 door dings, 1 of which was fairly large. Thankfully Enterprise didn't say anything when I returned the car. It was that day that I realized people don't give a shit about your car...let alone their kids who swing open the doors when getting in or out.
I parked my Gen Coupe away from the crowd for 2 years and never had 1 ding. I didn't park extremely far, but just far enough to be 3 or 4 spaces from the nearest car. It worked for me.
It probably just depends on your past experiences. In my case, I'm paranoid about it just because of what happened to my rental.

In 7 years, I've only had 1 door ding *knocks on wood*

I always search for the closest parking spot I can get.

Brndn704 03-06-2014 11:20 PM

With every car I've had I've always parked away from people. I'm sorry that I actually want to TAKE CARE of the things I spend my HARD EARNED MONEY on. Do I double park? Not most of the time, just in certain situations. I always park in the back though, hoping no one notices or is too lazy to park next to me and has to walk.
