Had the car for a week and I still can't (won't) drive it! Pure torture

But at least I got to sit in it today and play with the radio :sigh:

LadyFRZ 03-04-2014 12:28 AM

She looks so cold... :(

Hope spring comes soon for you, and you get to drive, drive, and drive. :)

humfrz 03-04-2014 12:57 AM

Yep, about all you can do is sit in it and ...... read the owner's manual .....

Sir, you are a strong man.

Rakshaa 03-04-2014 01:06 AM

Sucks you still have so much snow. Here it's still freezing (approaching -30 degrees C) but not as much snow as January or Mid Feb

Hope it all melts (without massive floods in people's houses) so you can drive your FR-S like you're meant to!

Kelbyat07 03-04-2014 01:18 AM

Good thing I have a garage! Good luck to you and hopefully you can drive her soon.

86-tundra 03-04-2014 01:21 AM

dunno how you people in the north do it.

Wise 03-04-2014 01:23 AM

Wow. I'd be freaking if there was that much snow on my car.

kaybee123 03-04-2014 01:28 AM

I'd be freaking out if I had that bumper license plate in front :P

hehehe to each his own :)

DMDominator 03-04-2014 03:19 AM

It's been snowing darn near every day this winter and we are usually in negative degrees. I drive mine anyway!

OICU812 03-04-2014 03:45 AM

Try feet more of that, 20-30 degrees colder and for a solid 6+ months ,,,,, that is depressing.

Geez, here I thought this nonstop crap for four months straight was bad, lol. It's actually pretty common here to joke about the snow and cold by saying that at least it's not Canada.

hotpanda1 03-04-2014 03:50 AM

im so sick of winters!!! i also hooked up my bluetooth today in my frs haha

DMDominator 03-04-2014 03:54 AM

One does have to wonder how many of us manage to drive ours in rain, ice, snow and below zero temps with no problems while guys in California keep curbing theirs whenever a light sprinkle of rain hits the ground.

Lol I don't know man, I'm sure driving in bad weather for 6 months a year can make you a better driver in dry weather, better feel for the road?

I'm sick of winter, it's -23 and usually march break week is usually "warm". I miss having a clean car, but the car is still quite fun to drive in the snow so I can't really complain...but yea I'm complaining :mad0260:

To the OP, good thing you resist driving with the stock tires, you wouldn't go too far without good rubber!

I have found a suitable alternative while I wait for better weather...

I don't mind.. they installed it on the grill and not the bumper. Easy enough to remove but I'm going to keep a front plate on anyway, I've gotten pulled over for no front plate too many times on my old car.

I haven't found an alternative location I like yet on the FR-S

DarkSunrise 03-04-2014 10:17 AM

Do some donuts/drifts in the snow? :iono:

subiestyle 03-04-2014 01:21 PM

oh man. I hate to see all that snow on that car. can you not take it to a garage or storage?

it's been raining here in the bay area and i have not taken my car out of the garage. any moisture on the road and the car gets locked up.

captain_beebus 03-04-2014 03:30 PM

We've been really lucky here in NH :) been stupid cold lately but it hasn't snowed in over a week! :D still...the salt sucks. Can't wait for spring to be back!

low cost of living, 4 seasons per year, no large insects, no immigration problems like the south has, no earthquakes/tornadoes/hurricanes. the grass isn't always greener.

Pretty sure cost of living is way cheaper in the south

It's probably about the same, as long as you're comparing two rural areas and not including a high-pop city because that will drastically skew the results.

vividracing 03-04-2014 04:04 PM

Come to AZ. This week is low 80's

USMC 03-04-2014 04:07 PM

That SUCKS, I will send you some warm air soon from South Florida. Is hot down here. Warmest winter in S. FL. Welcome to the group.

same cost of living, 2 seasons per year, love them scorpions in my bathtub, austin isn't like the other cities in texas that are more southern.. and I've never experienced a tornado, earthquake. hurricane yes but in houston

for someone that is a car enthusiast, I'd like to think they would enjoy somewhere that has minimal encounters with ice&snow :) unless they are big into wheeling

Trust me, I consider moving often. I stay because I have a great living & work situation. If/when that changes, I'll be headed down south to either FL/TX, or back out west to CA. Preferably somewhere in the bay area, but the cost of living is outrageous.

jblmr2 03-04-2014 07:58 PM

Hey Dragon, Spring is close! Think of it this way, if you get to much of a good thing you won't appreciate it.

Did you sit behind the wheel and make vroom vroom noises?

B3yondL 03-05-2014 12:48 AM

Hopefully you took that pic just to show the terrible snow conditions, she looks like she wants to be in a warm garage.

boredom.is.me 03-05-2014 04:11 AM

This is 86 cruelty. :(

Drebin252 03-05-2014 06:18 AM

Come to Australia, there's no snow over here :P

bdbx18 03-05-2014 12:20 PM

Eh.. I wouldn't let that much heavy snow sit on my new car just in case it dents up the soft panels. And get ready for a good cleanup to get that shine back when the sun comes out.

Grip Ronin 03-05-2014 07:24 PM
