Automatic Transmission Reving Start
Is there a way to rev the engine past about 2.4K RPM in an Automatic FR-S from a stand still. Naturally, I can only get mine to about 2.4K RPM before the rear end breaks loose into a burn out.

Put it in park, step on the gas, profit??:iono:
What exactly are you trying to accomplish? |

But no, there is no way other than the classic neutral bomb. Not recommended. |
Some guys do brake + gas then let off the brake during the autocross.
|
Neutral drops? You're the guy they don't like at service centers.

If you're interested, the guys over at Club3G forums did a little write up of this:

That poor car.

You can also raise your AT stall rev limit with the SSP Torque Converter. Search this forum for SSPkris threads...

You can launch these ATs decently if you practice your technique. And not by doing a nuetral hammer drop...
|
lol neutral drops are a great way to destroy your gearbox.
|
You could always swap out our 6AT and throw a DSG in there. ;)

Yeah, step on the gas and brake at the same time. It takes practice.
I wouldn't put it in N and rev it then slam it in D if I were you. |
Step 1: Come to a complete stop.
Step 2: Hold traction control for >3 seconds until all nannies are off. Step 3: Press the sport button. Step 4: Shift to manual mode (1st gear). Step 5: Apply firm brake pressure (80-90%). Step 6: Slowly press the accelerator pedal and reach desired RPM. (I haven't gone past 4k) Step 7: After satisfying that silly curiosity, realize that this was a car not meant to cater to people with a 0-60 superiority complex, and that this car belongs on switchback mountain roads. Step 8: Repeat if curiosity is not satisfied. ______________ Source: BRZ AT Driver |
