Getting new wheels, am I on the right track?
Alright, Im gonna order some Rota G-Forces. Here are the specs.
17x8 +48 offset. Am I gonna need spacers to make these look decent? How big of a spacer will get me out to flush? Is +35 considered flush on both front and rear? I just want to have all my ducks in a row before I push the button. Thanks for the help! |
Personally, I'd go for a lower offset.
|
Yep, go for something with an offset closer to +35. No sense doing spacers when you can just get another wheel in the tight offset.
If you do have to go with spacers, go with the bolt-on type, in 15mm. |
Gotcha, I just went back and looked at the wheels. I can get them in +38 or +35. I used the wheel fitment calculator on here, and it looks like +35 is pretty close to flush.
Opinions? |
17x8 +38 is the perfect happy medium. I'd go with that.

got 17x8 +35 going on in the spring myself, go for it

35 is better. Especially after the natural camber that comes from a drop.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards 35. |
I was set on +35 until I saw how much poke that created in the front. Stock offset is bad, but poke is no better in my eyes. I opted for +45 and may add a 10mm spacer in the rear. Undecided until I get the new wheels on.

I like my 17x8 +45. If you go with the 17x8 +35, I believe they poke out up front without a drop/camber.

The above is true for a car at stock height, however if you plan on lowering the car much at all, the minor "poke" of an et35 will camber in nicely to flush. If you pick higher offset (et45) and lower the car the tires will "suck" in due to the same natural camber. Keep this in mind. |

Makes sense, maybe I'll go with the also available +38 just to be safe. I'm sure if the +35's go flush, than and extra 3 wont look too sucked! |
When you get those bolted on, post photos and specs in a new topic in this forum area so I can add that spec to the Wheel Directory. Thanks!

and to the OP if you want to have both front and rear equal, i would suggest 7mm spacers on the rear wheels. |

Go here, it tells you exactly what size/offset you need for flush fit at varying heights. |
8.75" et33 isn't even flush in the rear 8" et48 is going to look very close to stock

Awesome info everyone. Im gonna go 17x8 +35. I feel confident that it won't poke in the front.

Okay, so I ordered 17x9 Rota Titans in flat black 42 offset. Had a good conversation with wheeldude, and they told me I would be much happier with 9in. The guy informed me that I wouldnt have any rub or alignment issues if I was only dropping the car on a prokit.
So Prokit and 17x9's it is! Should be here this week. |
