What Turbo is good?

Is there any turbo you can buy off the market that can go through anti lag system?

Yes.

C'mon, does anyone search before creating new threads anymore? This is getting out of control.

Make sure he gets an E85 kit that's tuned by Visconti too

best quality turbo by far!

86main 03-01-2014 11:53 PM

hahaha very funny guys. Thanks for the tip.

But with all seriousness, I'm pretty new to forced induction. So I want to get a better idea of what turbo will best fit my purpose.

Anti-lag will do nothing for you, unless you are rallying. It was faddish for a while, but then people discovered just how fast anti-lag will destroy any turbo. If you are running a race car with a big budget courtesy a deep-pocketed sponsor, then replacing a $1000-1800 turbocharger every 1-3 races isn't that big of a deal.

TODAY IN HISTORY!

1937 - 1st permanent automobile license plates issued (Ct)

There is a thread with a list of turbo kits at the top of the Forced Induction page, check it out, narrow it down depending on your preferences, and then ask questions specific to a certain kit... Otherwise there's hundreds of possible answers and everything you might ask has already been answered.

In theory, the larger the turbo the more the butt dyno will feel the lag. But hey guess what! It can be tuned out. the amount of boost on a stock block is not going to cause any sorts of lag issues, due in part to the high CR and it doesnt take long to reach max tuned boost at 5-12 psi on any given turbo (much different on E85). That, and this engine basically gives you the finger in terms of expecting lag from a larger than average turbo...

As in boost, the amount of boost a tune is running will dictate the transient response. Low boost = faster transient response.

So I can run a GTX42 at 4 psi and get great transient response? I'm in!

(this is not a serious post)
