17x9.5+25/10. Color depends on wheels, but maybe mag blue if it doesnt have much lip, but a bronze lip black face if there is lip.. or vice versa.

switchlanez 02-25-2014 05:02 PM

18x9.5 +45 Flat Gold

G-Man 02-25-2014 06:11 PM

17 x 8-8.5 +45(or whatever clears AP Racing sprint kit)

weight - under 17 lbs

BRZZZZZZZZZZ 02-25-2014 06:22 PM

16x7s square (performance oriented) with a +40ish offset, and some zany color.

I'm close with my 16x7 +46 TE37s + spacer but I don't think I like the bronze...

It got moved to the commercial section without notification. I made a new thread since it would eventually be buried in the stack of advertisement posts.

Maybe you can ask one of the friendly mods/admins to move relevant posts from that thread over to this thread so everyone can see what's been posted.

Deleted the thread to just provide a clean slate. I have some ideas why it may have been moved, but, I prefer to have a thread meant for nice wheel sizes. I'm pretty sure this will provide a place to provide opinions and ideas that aren't constrained by what is already available on the market.

18x9 18x9.5 or 18x10... +35 to +38 range.

I say 18's because there's a wider selection of tires. 285/30r18 Direzza Z2's would be the shit wrapped on 18x9.5 +38 wheels.

With 285, a 18x11 would look better.

For sure! Problem now is, you're going to need coilovers and flares or some kind of wbk to cover the wheels. Pretty extreme with a 18x11. Too much for me. However, you can get away with a 285 wrapped on 9.5's. But yea, 255's are as much as I probably need anyways. I'm a meaty functional tire lover :)

Evasive's riding on 18x10's. Probably way more than what everybody needs.

http://motormavens.net/threads/evasi...mate-frs.1744/

But for the most of us, a 17x9, 18x9, or 18x9.5 is plenty. Heck, even the stock wheels are enough for many!

I say it's all personal choice and what you're going to be using your rims for. For example, this season, I'll eventually get around to wrapping my OEM wheels with rs3's. Should be plenty for a stock everything, but tire, setup.

Pure performance and still non-turbo like the most of us, I'll take a crack and say the best budget lightweight setup would be 17x9 with 245's or 255's. Hard to beat the Enkei's. 18x9 would probably be next. 18x9.5 is sweet too! Hard to say. Depends on what market you want to capture.

mines13 02-26-2014 12:45 PM

I find the car on a 17x9 +42 with a 255/40-17 to be pretty numb albeit likely faster then my old 18x8 with a 225/40-18. The narrower tire was much more enjoyable and provided greater feedback both in both steering and weight transfer. My next setup will be something right in the middle. 18x8.5 +42 with a 245/35-18.CSG Mike Could probably better describe what it is that is going on, but the car just didn't "feel" great with the wider tire pushed all the way out to the corners on track. Maybe this had to do with scrub radius or a collective of other metrics. Someone more qualified on the chassis front can fill in the blanks. :respekt:

CSG David 02-26-2014 02:08 PM

Under stock power, the narrower tire is faster. Steering feel numbs as you go up in tire size. The load is distributed over a much larger area so the feedback is going to feel a little different. Even FI guys don't exactly need that much more tire to lay down the power properly. There are more areas of concern at that point than the actual absolute traction itself.

Again, keep those suggestions and opinions coming. It's great to see what everybody wants in that wheel. :)

Nevermore 02-26-2014 02:13 PM

Diameter: 17
Width: 8
Offset: +45
Color: Black

Not on the list, but for style, I'd really love a mesh style wheel, but not with too many spokes. Something like the Enkei Raijin.

johnnie 02-26-2014 04:54 PM

18x9 ET35-40 either black/gunmetal or very dark bronze.

I think it's a good tradeoff in looks/performance, specially for NA. I'm probbably going 17x9 as i can't find any 18s.

OrbitalEllipses 02-26-2014 05:16 PM

17x8.5 +35 or +38

mad_sb 02-26-2014 06:18 PM

17
9
35
black chrome (Einkei SBC color) bronze gunmetal black depending on the design

I'm looking for a good track setup, what do you all recommend for wheel/offset/tire size?
I've seen 245/40/17 on FRS track cars, is this ideal? The car will have KW V3 coil overs so will be lowered some but nothing crazy.
What offset and wheel width do you all recommend? 8, 8.5, or 9 inch wide? Fenders require rolling?

ericmpena 02-27-2014 02:53 AM

18x8
+35 or +40
Satin black, or Piano Black w/ chrome lip.

Juvenile 02-27-2014 02:58 AM

17x8.5
+35
Anything but gold

nomad 02-27-2014 04:17 AM

18x8.5
+42
Gun metal, Black

varun 02-27-2014 12:53 PM

Would 18x8.5 with a 49+ offset work on my FRS with KW CS coilovers and lowered. Tires i'm thinking would be 245/40/18
Thoughts? Will they rub?

MightyMeeple 03-04-2014 03:14 PM

17x8
+40
hyper black or super brilliant coating

DarkSunrise 03-04-2014 03:32 PM

I feel like there's not a lot of options for 8.5" width wheels in 40-44 offset for this car. Pretty important hole considering most people want to run 225-245 width tires.

cactus 03-04-2014 04:05 PM

17x8.5
+40ish
PF01 Evo look
Dark bronze or gray, something to match SWP

frslee 03-04-2014 04:13 PM

17
8.5
35~38
Hyper Silver, Gold

I don't see a lot of options for 8.5 width either.. I feel like 8 is too narrow and 9 is too wide.

ZionsWrath 03-18-2014 11:29 AM

Bump

Looks like 17x8.5 is quite popular. I'd have to agree, how you guys can work something out @CSG David

Let me know if you need preorders ^_^

DM7 03-18-2014 01:02 PM

17
8.5
48-43
Grey, Silver

8.5 will be great for a 245 road or track tire. Won't stretch an all-season/summer tire and will be just wide enough for a track tire. 8.5 will also have enough clearance from the spring perch for those running stock shocks without having to go with an offset that is too low (lower than 40 sticks out too much).

Khyron686 03-18-2014 03:13 PM

17x7 , light, ET42 ish. Anthracite/darker silver. Would be perfect on this car with PSS 215/45s or similar.

Tainen 03-18-2014 03:42 PM

17x8 +35 SBC, Hyper Silver or Hyper Black (What the hell is the difference between these three colors?!?!)

Enkei NTO3+M pls.

Enkei NTO3+M pls.

Hyper Black is darker than hyper silver and SBC looks like a chrome finish.

industrial 03-18-2014 11:03 PM

Just going to throw in another vote for 17x8.5, +35~40. Some shade of black or dark grey. There aren't many options for nice wheels this size that are also lightweight and not $900/wheel special order.

toby714 03-18-2014 11:10 PM

17x9.5 35-40offset. red, blue, silver
