Doors won't automatically lock

Has anyone else experienced this? My car used to lock its doors on its own once it reaches a certain speed (pretty much all cars I know do this). All of a sudden, it no longer does this. It also used to unlock the driver side door once I turn the car off, but it no longer does that as well. Any advice?

Well are you still driving a Civic? Because I've never heard of any 86 doing this.

The Toyobaru has never done this. It simply isn't capable of automatically locking from the factory.

The one exception is that when the car is unlocked and the door is not opened within about 2 minutes or so it will lock itself again.

Did this start happening when you traded in your old car for the FT86?

If so, yes I too experienced this.

Loool. I was wrong. I really thought the FRS had this feature though. Really should update my car info in my profile too as so many of you pointed out lool.

Oh and tinma, ask your parents. Same drugs they took right before they conceived you. It cost them your college fund though.

Sorry lool, just had to. Buncha wise asses.

It probably has a higher trap speed than our cars also.

Hell ya. This piece of junk hauls ass. Can't believe the car sells for less than 800 bucks nowadays.

How to fix: tap into clutch switch line. run line to relay. power the relay. run line from relay to rpm switch. power rpm witch. run rpm line to crankshaft position sensor. run line to window switch. set rpm signal to 1000rpm. when the clutch is pressed below 1000rpm, doors lock. doors will not "relock" when shifting due to rpm switch being "open".

Rabble 03-01-2014 10:02 AM

Protip: don't try to open the door while the car is in motion.
