Any idea on allocation for upstate New York?
I am looking for a specific BRZ in upstate New York. Did anyone find any luck in ordering one up here? Looking for a Limited manual in Satin White Pearl. I tried to call a couple of dealers here and all they could tell me is they would probably only have a demo version available in June. ( I have checked the allocation thread and found no info on New York)
I'm going to try to call the number "2" Subaru dealership which is like 200 miles away to see if I have any luck. Another question, does anyone know the size comparison compared to an RSX. I'm coming from a CRZ and find it a bit too small for me. |

The BRZ will be slightly smaller than an RSX. They have the same wheelbase, but the BRZ is 5" less in length, 4.5" shorter, but it is 2" wider than an RSX. Also, when you say "Upstate New York" does that mean any part of New York that isn't NYC, or do you mean the northern half of New York State? |
I think he means upstate NY proper as the only people that incorrectly call anything outside of the city upstate are those people from the city.
I'm from Rockland, my dealer only knows when shipments are coming, not specifically what cars. Coincidentally I'm also coming from the CRZ, and having sat in 2 BRZs and an FR-S, I can tell you that the car is definitely bigger inside but not by a huge amount. Probably comparable to the RSX, but keep in mind the seats are snug (which I like). The best thing is that you can actually see out of the back and sides of the damn car. |

Riverhead Bay Subaru has 8 and only 4 are on order, probably way too far from 'upstate proper'. |

I live around Binghamton NY and my Subaru dealer (Matthews Subaru) in Vestal, NY is fulfilling my pre-order at the end of this month from what I've heard. I don't know too much about what their allocation is but they were able to get the BRZ I wanted (DGM, Limited) pre-ordered so they're doing something right.

I live in Syracuse, NY (central new york/upstate), and I've checked with every Subaru & Toyota dealership in the city and none of them are expecting an FRS or BRZ anytime soon :(
|
Everyone who lives in the upstate NY area needs to get their car ASAP so we can have a meetup while they still look pretty in the summer time!:party0030:

Also it's central New York on the i-90 highway. Quote:
Well I just talked to a dealer in Syracuse and they said they have three arriving soon. Grey Limited, and two other base that I'm not interested in. Also talked to a dealer in Albany NY and they said they have 6 coming in and 3 of them already reserved. None of which will be a White Limited manual. What a bummer. lol I wonder how long it would take to order the car from my local dealer. Quote:
I will try Binghamton Subaru next! Wish me luck. Haha |

Everyone is super nice there though and my parents have bought Subarus from them before and have no complaints. I know they're selling it at MSRP. If you do find out any more information about their allocation numbers or anything else, please let me know. I'm curious as to how many BRZ brethern will be in my area. |
i test drove a premium auto and put my name down at van bortel early last month. The rep there said he was trying to get a limited manual for people to try out but i havent heard anything since. Van Bortel is located in Victor which is 20-30 mins from rochester. If youre heading this way you have to get a garbage plate. just sayin

A 315er!
<--- grew up in wayne county, NY A garbage plate is definitely a must. |
I'm #1 in line at Van Bortel. It'll be my 6th Subaru bought from them; they are really excellent to deal with. There are one or two other Subaru dealers around Rochester but the vast, vast majority of Subies around here sport Van Bortel plateframes.
Since the cars come via SDC, we don't get as much information as the SOA cars. I still have no VIN or anything. Hopefully mine'll be the first one that comes in, but who knows... I'm trying to keep my expectations in check in case they come in out of order. Hopefully I'll know more in the next day or two - my salesman has promised to let me know as soon as he knows more, and I trust him to do that. :) I also testdrove the auto silver Premium (in the snow, no less!) a couple weeks ago, and haven't heard anything more about a Limited manual being available for drives yet. The rep said that there was one in NYC that he was hoping to swap the auto one for. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8018/6...0797ea17_b.jpg http://www.groucho.org/pics/57144-2/...-120423-08.jpg Oh, and sorry, but I think garbage plates are gross, at least the actual Tahoe's restaurant is pretty disgusting! :barf: |

seems like NY/NJ dealers don't have a lot of information on shipments, at least compared to the dealers in the New England network |

what did u order? MT/AT? color? oh gosh i hope i can get mine soon. i mean, i hope white plains call me soon. |
Anyway, I don't have any VIN/VON/confirmations of any kind, just that the car is likely to come in the June allocation. I'm not really antsy about it, I'll wait until I can get the car I want.
But I specced Limited/SWP/Manual. I'm number 3 on the list. I think they have a car coming in but it's black. That's the last I heard from the dealer which was about a week ago. |

DZE was just the dealer order code for Limited/Manual.
They only asked for $500 deposit and you pay MSRP. Sales guy I am dealing with is named Sonny, but I think Howard can also help you. |
My dealer has yet to let me know a price, let alone an ETA. forever BRZ-less
|
that's the same silver auto premium that i drove. and that's what the rep told me too. he was hoping to swap them out since everybody here wants to try a manual.
i prefer henrietta hots over tahoes. good ol wayne county. haha madison county born and raised, chasing cows is how i spent most of my days, chilling relaxing maxing all cool i was shooting some skeet outside the pool when a couple of guys who were up to no good started hustling cattle in my neighborhood i got into one little fight and ma got scared and said youre moving on to college in rochester... beware! |

Now that I've signed some paperwork securing my BRZ :) I'll let you all know that there's a Limited WRB manual up for grabs at Simmons-Rockwell near Elmira, New York. It's part of their first allotment should be here "in a few weeks".
Best news, they're selling under MSRP! No kidding & I didn't even have to ask. They've been great to deal with - no BS. It's a real stockyard of a dealership chain, they thrive on volume, not squeezing another $500 outta ya. Call and ask for Zane - he's well informed and has kept up communication. Also, I tried to pre-order with them for the past few months with no luck. Felt a bit like they didn't know WTF they were doing from reading other posts here about pre-orders. Maybe it does just work differently in this region? One day they just called and said we've got a WRB permium manual coming in, you want it? Was going to order GBS, but I'll take rally blue. |

Also how much below MSRP are they selling it? |
I don't think they're sure exactly when they'll come in - I'd expect early June, but who knows.
I got my premium for 24,999 + ttl (8% and about $235) |
good info. im thinking im going to go for gbs as well. just something about it
