Tires to get for new wheels

Hello all. I've just received new wheels in the mail, all four of which are in dire need of some all-season goodness. Of the four tires above, which do you recommend and why?

PS- I don't have the space for storing an extra set, so I can't do summer/winter tires throughout the year. For all those "All seasons? Do you even race bro?" people that i'll end up ignoring.

I can't see any list of tires (maybe because I'm on my phone?), but if I had to get all seasons, I'd go for pilot a/s 3s...

Michilen Tires! A/S3 or pilot super sports.

Great looking wheels. I voted for the Cooper tires, not a very well known brand but they make a quality tire.

Continental ExtremeContact DW's

I've heard nothing but amazing things about the A/S 3's. I know that's the route I'm going when I need all seasons

Those are summer tires though, aren't they?

They are. The DWS is the all season.

red_comet 02-22-2014 12:18 PM

OP says of the four listed, btw... the Michelins are above my price range.

I'm on a budget, people! I am a teacher, not some fancy city delivery cyclist surgeon.

(What...?)
@FR-S Matt @chrisl - I had the DWS on my crossfire, they indeed were awesome but more than I can afford for now.

I find my Goodyear Eagle A/S sports work good for my car in the PNW. I understand that the F1 Asymmetric AS are as good (or better).

Your list is missing the best all-season tire available.
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3

Man, the Kumhos and generals are cheap tires, wow! Just over $100 each.

My local tire shop does 6 months 0% interest. For me, it's worth it for michelins. I got pilot sport A/S plus, the model that was replaced by the as3.

I have these on my wife's Civic and they are the best ALL SEASON's I've ever used.

EDIT: She has PureContact Conti's... completely different.. my bad. (but they are really good all season winter tires :) )

You have the DWS then (not the DW)?

Yes, that is what he meant. Read reviews on tire rack. Whole reason I got my DW's. Fair price, lots of tread, the sound is the same as the stock tires, amazing wet traction, and dry grip is great.

I don't have those wheels in the Wheel Directory yet... when you get the tires on, and mount the wheels, could you post a new topic in this forum area with photos from all angles and the wheel and tire specs? Thanks!

frslee 02-24-2014 02:11 PM

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 isn't all that great in snow...

red_comet 02-24-2014 04:25 PM

I think I'm deciding to go with the cooper Zeon RS3-A, for two reasons...

1) Winding road put the RS3-S head to head with the Michelin PS2's, and it held it's own pretty well. Aside from the review linked below, I've read tons of good testimonials on the coopers, both summer and all-season varieties of the RS3's. Didn't know Roush used coopers as stockers for their mustangs, either.

http://www.windingroad.com/articles/...3-s-and-rs3-a/

and 2) ZEON!! For you gundam fans, Zeon is a principality inhabiting space colonies around the earth... and their symbol is the red thing in my avatar, which is from a pic of my car (its a sticker on my rear windshield). So yeah, because I'm a nerd, the RS3-A's are the winners.

Thanks to all who voted in the poll!
