December C&C had 3 of us there, last month only had a couple of us. I should be there, not sure who else though.

However, there has been a pretty good turnout the past couple months, and there should be a better turnout this month now that the weather is a bit warmer.

Gunman 02-18-2014 09:56 PM

Cool. Hopefully the car doesn't get too dirty on the way, talk of rain friday night, and it already needs a wash from the snow. Hope to see you there.

MountainManFR-S 02-19-2014 02:26 PM

I will not be at the Greenville cars and coffee this time around. I am stuck close to base for the weekend but I will possibly be at the Columbia one. Hopefully I can make it home next month and see yall out there.

That sucks man. Next month is definitely the one to be at with the CU-ICAR event right after.

TBH, I was tempted to drive down to Columbia's this month, but I'm too lazy to get up at 6 AM to make it down there around 8:15-8:30ish :D.

Gunman 02-19-2014 07:48 PM

May have to venture back down in March for that CU-ICAR deal.

Gunman 02-22-2014 06:56 PM

Good turnout, I saw a lot of NC plates, I assume because the Charlotte event is no longer.

Was this @Burninator I parked next too?

Yes that was me. I met the guy that owns the Hot Lava FR-S last month, but I can't remember if he said he frequents the forum.

Quick note about this month's C&C meet from the Cars & Coffee Facebook page:

"Cars & Coffee of the Upstate Supporters,

The next event is Saturday, March 22 at Michelin’s North America Headquarters.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
TO ACCOMMODATE THE LARGE CROWDS, WE ARE MOVING TO THE MAIN PARKING LOT BEHIND MICHELIN

As the number of vehicles at these events has continued to increase, Michelin has agreed to move the event to their main parking lot behind the headquarters building. The previous lot we were using had 385 spaces and the main lot has a total of 778 spaces available. Thanks to Michelin for providing the extra space.

To access the new lot, turn off of Pelham Road onto The Parkway. Go to the second traffic light and turn right onto Parkway East. Follow the signs to the entrance of the main lot where Parkway East turns left to become Dry Pocket Road. (See attached diagram)

I am asking all of you who support and enjoy Cars & Coffee of the Upstate to help spread the word that we want the event to continue as a celebration of the car hobby in the Upstate. Let’s keep the event a place that all hobbyists, families and friends can enjoy in a safe manner by continuing to observe all traffic laws.

Michelin’s cafeteria will continue to have regular coffee, latte, mocha and hot chocolate available, along with various flavorings that can be added at time of ordering. They will also have various pastries for sale. They can accept cash, but as they are not a Starbucks retail location, they cannot accept Starbucks drink cards.

Event information:

Event: Cars & Coffee of the Upstate
Date: Saturday, March 22
Frequency: 4th Saturday of the month
Time: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Location: Michelin North America Headquarters
1 Parkway South & Pelham Road

Main parking lot behind Michelin’s Headquarters
Behind the Marriott Hotel
Follow the Signs
Intersection of Pelham Road and The Parkway
At Exit 54 of I-85 in Greenville, SC"

If it is anything like last month though, gotta get there early to get a good spot ;).

I'll be going if some of you want to meet up so we can park together.

I'd be down for that. Seeing as the Starbucks lot is really small and usually packed C&C mornings, something like the back of the Walmart parking lot behind the Starbucks would work better for a meetup spot, i.e.:
http://i.imgur.com/79cHmF5.png

I usually arrive at Starbucks for a Caramel Apple Spice right around 8 AM =).

Snowblind 03-17-2014 08:51 PM

Works for me. Walmart parking lot at 8am then?

MountainManFR-S 03-18-2014 07:13 PM

Damn...I was not planning on being in town this weekend but I may have to make the trip up for this...Maybe..

Hehe. Will be awesome to have you up here again for C&C. Place was packed last month and probably will be close to it again even with the bigger parking lot.

One of these days I'll make it down to the Columbia C&C - probably the June one if it is held earlier in the month. Will be in Nashville attending a concert on the 28th of June so I'll miss Greenville's :(.

WWShehan 03-20-2014 02:23 AM

Hey! I'm the hot lava frs guy haha Nice! i didn't know if you guys were on here or not. I unfortunately doubt i can make this month which blows because it looks like you guys actually planned to meet up this time :(

I saw that post too. ARRRRGH - really tempted to do that too since I usually stay at home bored out of my mind on Sundays. If I did go though I'd be all like:
http://www.troll.me/images/clueless-...t-im-doing.jpg

since I really haven't looked into gearing up anything for it - helmet, brake pads, etc.

Edit - I'd also have to take the subwoofer out of the trunk too to shed some weight lol XD

WWShehan 03-20-2014 07:19 PM

Actually I'm now free! I'm for certain going to be there Saturday! So I'll see you guys 8am at walmart!

Lmao come give it a try anyway. They have loaner helmets or you can use mine. They also have a novice group so its all good. Everytime I go I see people running for the first time in there 86s. Bring it out! Pre registering ends tomorrow on the website but you can register day of.

Burninator 03-21-2014 09:15 AM

Ah f it - I'll register for it when I get a chance this morning. First thing I gotta deal with is why I haven't received my parking space assignment for the CU-ICAR thing. Was able to arrange some 86 representation at it, and they were supposed to email out parking spot assignments this week. So far nothing.

Edit - well they were just running behind and hadn't sent the info to anyone lol. And now I gotta write a one paragraph essay about the FR-S lol :bonk:

Of course. It is less than 10 minutes from my house on back roads. I'll have to leave around 9:45ish though since I have to be over @ Laurens Road by 10-ish.

XtremeS14 03-21-2014 05:18 PM

I plan on coming out as well, even though the car is a dirty turd. See you guys at 8.

Sweet! I will see you Sunday. Feel free to crash at my place if you want to Saturday night. I am in Sumter so its only about a 45 minute drive from Sumter to Darlington. I have an empty couch if you would like and also dont mind sleeping in the house with my wife, baby, and I.

Depending on which direction you come from, there is a touchless wash here at the A marker between Pelham and East North or here just off of Butler Road. Those are the two I use in a pinch when I need a quick hosedown ;). With the second you get a token for six minutes on the vacuum with the wash so it is a win/win.

I wish I could make it down that way tomorrow night - unfortunately tomorrow night is the night I usually get together with some of my college friends for card and board games. /shamelessplug for Boardwalk over by Haywood Mall - we've been finding some of the most interesting stuff there like Coup, Bang! The Dice Game, King of Tokyo, and Puzzle Strike.

Oh side note - I'm thinking as next month's C&C approaches, I am thinking about gauging interest on who all would be up for another round of LeMans Karting after lunch or something. Price is $50 for 3 10 minute runs which isn't bad figuring that Frankies is about $35 for a half hour of karting.

Video if you haven't been there yet:

Haha yep. I was wearing a tank. It's always nice to meet more 86 owners. Since the weather is getting so nice I'd love for is all to go on a cruise sometime. I just don't know where we could cruise to xD

Depends on which direction you want to go. Northwestish you got the twisties to Caesar's Head, Table Rock, Brevard, Cashiers, Highlands (the Moonshiner 28 there is quite nice btw and goes straight to the Cherohala Skyway and Tail of the Dragon - 3 and a half hours there using route 28, but you can shave off an hour by going up to Asheville and then over).

West goes into Georgia that I'm not all that familiar with but I'm probably going to head over there this weekend to finally try out a BBQ place I came across a few years back while on the way to whitewater rafting. Also this loop around Blood Mountain seems promising.

East is 3-4 hours to the beaches at Myrtle Beach, Charleston, and Beaufort.

FR-Scott 05-01-2014 10:46 AM

I ran the 28 to the Dragon a few weeks ago. It was a fun run.

I do wanna try the Blood Mtn run sometime.

Snowblind 05-01-2014 09:59 PM

The Blue Ridge Parkway from Cherokee to Asheville is a really fun drive. It is a lot more leisurely compared to some parts of 28 and the Dragon itself.
