Scion All Weather Mats worth it?

I ordered the all weather mats for my Monogram, but was wondering if anyone has actually seen them to know if they are worth the money ($89 I think).

Or would it be better to order WeatherTech mats? I read the thread on the WT mats and everyone seems happy with them, just curious how they compare to then Scion ones.

I bought them for about $65 bucks off of E bay. I live here in Florida in the Ocala National Forest and it is basically sand. I live a half mile off the main road on a dirt road. The stock carpet mats were wearing pretty quickly so I decided to buy the all weather mats. I have been very pleased with them. The stock twist locks are the same as the carpet mats and they do not move around. I am able to vacuum the mats quickly when they get sandy which is most every day. If I want to dress up the car I slip in the carpet ones but the rubber ones look good too with the FRS logo. For me at least, they are worth it.

Off topic: HELLO NEIGHBOR!

On topic: I have the weathertech trunk liner and can totally recommend it. The weathertech floor mats are the full liner variety that could hold a bucket of slush. Overkill and unattractive in my opinion. When my carpeted floor mats wear out, I'll go with the OEM all weather mats.

I got them free from my dealer. I like them, but they don't hold a large amount of water. My carpet mats are on a shelf in my garage and still look newish, and the carpet in my car under the all weather mats still looks brand new. They are great in the rain, a big snow would probably over fill them, but I'm in southern alabama, don't have to worry about snow too much here. Every body is going to tell you weather techs are better, and they are right. but, they are double the cost, and no rear rubber mats. You'll get front and rear with the scion ones.

daiheadjai 02-17-2014 10:21 PM

These are great for anything but very large quantities of water/ice/slush.

dem00n 02-17-2014 10:43 PM

Just go weathertech...

I bought the Husky's. They fit perfectly (with the exception that they cover the gas cover release - but that can be worked around or trimmed). They've done a great job at protecting my carpet and were cheaper than the Weathertechs. But I know those are great as well.

fitcious 02-18-2014 02:44 AM

I have the OEM all weather mats. Fits snug and looks great. Love them. But I agree, the mats does not keep large amts of water

These cars come with regular carpet floor mats already for free right?

Astroboy 02-18-2014 04:30 AM

Weathertechs are perfect. I have them. I like to run at parks in the mornings, any whatever conditions. So now I don't have to worry about getting mud, or dog poop :(, on my carpets..

Does the FR-S logo come off? I have been trying to figure out from pictures if it's molded into the rubber or is just attached on top of it.

I've got a BRZ and it doesn't seem like Subaru offers OEM all weather floormats so the FR-S ones are the only option, but I'd want to remove the letters.

Buy the Scion ones.

The Weather tech Digifit are good for extreme snow, but slippery IMO and have a texture I dont like. I bought the WT for my wifes car and will take them out in spring for certain. They dont rinse off well either. Inflexible and stiff. Yes they will hold a good bit of water, coffee etc. This has been my experience this winter.
I dont like my feet slipping on the WT.

The rubber Scion ones are better for all season.

mezdup 02-18-2014 07:50 AM

i have the OEM ones as well and i'm a fan

Retro86 02-18-2014 08:07 AM

shoulda got the weather tech

Chattanooga FR-S 02-18-2014 08:38 AM

Thanks everyone. Other than last week, we rarely get much (if any) snow around here, so that shouldn't be an issue. Since I am more worried about just dirt and grime building up in the carpeted mats, I will probably just go with the Scion ones since they are cheaper than the WTs and include the back floorboard (in case I ever want to squeeze someone back there).

Now I just need my Firestorm to be delivered!!!

The carpeted OEM mats become matted very easily and look like crap in no time.

Rio 02-19-2014 01:22 AM

If you are going to track the car YES! They have anchors that make it so you do not need to be remove them when doing performance driving on a track.

Scionshaun 02-19-2014 01:55 AM

Well worth it. I'm glad I got mine right before winter. If not it would be a mess in the car.

Just picked mine up. Ordered them from the dealer before the idiot back over my car. They look thin but the frs logo looks nice. Won't get to use them this year though.

monkeyslide17 02-21-2014 02:53 PM

got mine from http://trdsparks.com good price.

I LOVE my OEM All-Weather mats

Aaron.H 02-22-2014 06:36 PM

the front all weather scion floormats came with my car. they have been great & would recommend them. if you want better floor protection, go with weathertechs.

TruRace 02-22-2014 06:51 PM

The weather tech floor mats are worth it, as well as the trunk liner.

Hello Neighbor too. I also have the weathertech. Nice fit and finish and it will make that cheap trunk carpet last a long time.
BTW are you the silver BRZ parked on the corner of Pine Ave. and SR40?

Scionshaun 03-10-2014 10:05 PM

I got the weather tech mats better

I feel like the Scion all-weathers are more comfy to drive on...
Something about the grooves in the WeatherTechs forces me to place my feet at uncomfortable angles when getting the brake and gas pedal...

That's a sexy bumper. How did you get the whole thing white?

Took the rear bumper cover off and took it to a local paint shop. I had bought the rear wing and needed to have it painted before I installed it so I figured that as long as they were mixing the paint I might as well get the bumper done too. The faux carbon fiber finish that is normally black on the lower rear really looks good with the white on it. The Pro 1 proformance muffler and tips really fills up the holes where the stock tips look lost in those large cutouts.

I don't know why you guys would be willing to pay that much for floor mats. I bought some general all weather mats from Sam's Club, cut them to size and similar dimensions, and they work awesome for only $20. They do not move around and are a good material that will last through what I can throw at it. Living in South Louisiana, it rains constantly and my work parking lot is mostly comprised of potholes and dirt. They haven't shown sign of wear after a few weeks of use.

But I do like the FR-S logos on the OEM ones... I guess it's a trade off I'm willing to make.

Yes, I realized that the next day when I went past it. Nice car. If you need any help with it I have a complete shop @ the house including a lift. I am limited in what I can due to some health issues but I have a lot of experience as I have owned/restored 422 vehicles.

Scion All Weather Mats worth it?

I want to share with you a problem with the weathertech, look at my pictures, water stay into the carpets and when you have too water, all water go to the back from each carpets sides.

It's like this from each sides, driver and helper.

Last time when I have moved the helper seat to the front, all water was on the rear carpet... With a big salt residue on it :(.

I can also say, I always taking care to do not put a lot of snow on it to prevent extra water... And this happen anyway.... Now I have installed some dishcloths under each sides of each carpets to prevent water to move on the back.

I'am the only one with this problem?
