FA20CLUB FRS BRZ Stage 1 Turbo Kit 2013+

Im pulling the trigger and will be going with this kit.. i have noticed the Kit comes with a Base Map Tune, this coming with the kit, would i have to buy a ECUTEK Cable + license ? ( i understand later down the road if i decide to have more boost, along with fuel mods, etc. i would have to buy it, but for now i would just like to stick to regular 7/8psi)

SkAsphalt 02-12-2014 01:35 PM

You need an ECU tek license and kit to put he base map tune on the car. so yes. Unless you are getting the kit installed and they have a cable, then you will only need a license

PolishFrs13 02-12-2014 01:43 PM

damn alright, i will.. also now reading up on all the Customer service on FA20, i might be back to searching for a different route..

husker741 02-12-2014 01:47 PM

Yeah, stay away.

PolishFrs13 02-12-2014 01:49 PM

i will be, i was set on them but seeing as how to they never send items out or forget to, even if you paid.. im heading towards FBM, since i already own their Radiator

I have a friend back in Nebraska with an S2k that drives his car 8 hours to and from Full Blown for them to work on it. They are good people.

I thought about driving to and from them, i am stationed in fort drum new york, so it would be hard to get there within a day, installed/tuned & drive back within a four day period

You'd be better suited to go over to the owners thread and ask some of those guys. Better yet, send them some private messages.

Why not have toni come out and defend his product? He's been invisible for almost a month now.

anajri 02-12-2014 02:01 PM

4 month an still waiting on mine.....

I'm not Toni. I can't speak for Toni. I can only speak for the product I received from Toni. And if he's thinking of ordering, I have no problem speaking with him about the product.

I was going with the FA20 kit, Talking to FBM right now, they Pm'd me and are already great with the Customer support, they'll answer any questions i have, as well as help with installation if i do it myself :thanks:

Well, go ahead and speak freely. It's odd though that he went from 5+ post a day to 2 post since the 19th. He's also locked all of the threads he was able to, and went into hiding when the $ hit the fan. Any reputable vendor would have tried to calm the masses and correct the issues.

The only thing I can think of is he's in way over his head. There's a situation going on up here in chicago with a local hot rod shop. The owner didn't pay his rent for 4 months and was deep in the hole. He shot up his office and fled with the computers. Now the community is trying to find everyone who has cars in the shop.

Toni has a history of being a fly by night, and it seems like things are coming full circle for him.

Thanks, haven't seem him for awhile. He's a good guy.

That PTuning kit looks pretty spectacular. If I had better gas, and a bigger budget, I would have gone with that kit.

i can say from experience that the FBM kit is a shit ton easier to tune than the FA20Club kit, mainly due to the better MAF placement. to toni's credit he's supposed to be working on a revised MAF tube to solve the issues myself and others were having, but we haven't seen it yet.

Reaper 02-12-2014 02:52 PM

Ljs customer service among other things swayed me from fa20club to fbm.

Don't worry, FA20Club is in the title, and @lexusb3 will be here shortly.

There are many owners (other than @Frs300 ) who installed the FBM kit themselves and can help you as well.

he did the only thing worse than installing it yourself (if you don't know what you're doing), a dealership install iirc

Sad part is I have worked in dealerships all my life. From being a mechanical technician to service writer/ body shop estimator. Only time my car is at the dealership is when I am borrowing the lift.

Thats the only reason i would have a car at the dealership if i worked at one, borrowing a lift. Until i could afford my own lift

i used to work in the service dept of a kia dealership. taught me one thing: modern kias are damn reliable cars. those things never come in for anything but scheduled maintenance. i remember growing up in my grandparents shop there was never a day that there wasn't a 'higher end' car getting wheel bearings or cv joints replaced. 2 years at a kia dealer? not a single one.

craziness.

As are Toyota's very minimal when it comes to repairs. Nissan on the other hand is different nightmare of what does fail.

He was considering an FA20Club turbo kit. Tell him about all the miles and power numbers you have on your FA20Club turbo kit. :D How is Toni doing these days?

evo4g63 02-12-2014 04:54 PM

You will have 4+ months (hopefully) to decide if it was a bad decision if you pull the trigger today.

lexusb3 02-12-2014 05:01 PM

Come on man^ this is why everything gets off topic.

Strange, I have never had any issues with Toni sending me parts. Hell I even got a nice un expected package from him last week.

Seems on topic in a thread about a customer wanting to buy the FA20Club kit to present the facts.

I am not saying Toni doesn't have customers that are happier with him than the majority. I was running my car on his tune as you are and sold it with that tune. He has never done anything wrong to me personally. I just want to make sure people know the facts of what other members on this forum have had to go through.

lexusb3 02-12-2014 05:07 PM
