Fredric Aasbo in 2JZ GT86/FR-S
 

Have you guys seen this GUY yet? I've been following him for awhile now, or ever since I got my FRS last April. I must say he really impress me on how nice he can bend corners in a GT86. With a swapped 2jz that is 400+ hp (if i recall correctly) he really does this car justice. Anyways, check this video out and give me your opinion.

If I can recall I think he drifted a TC. Glad to see him drifting one of the twins now.

He makes all the other drivers look novice. Im pretty sure thats Mad Mike in there with his red bull 240sx.



I'm actually pretty sure he did also. His way better then Ken Gushi or whatever. I think this forum needs to front page this thread because we need to show our fellow GT86 twin driver love.

Great video and driving skills, love that move where they sandwich overtake the slower car as they drift on by...

Gotta agree with you on that overtake, best part of the vid. awesome stuff.

He for sure slams his car sideways. My biggest idol at the moment. I cant wait until I can drive as good as that lol

Well he is a formula D drifter... and a Norwegian and a friend of my older step brother, hes a nice guy :)

Already purchased my flights for Norway to attend Gatebil festival this summer (what the footage above is from), hopefully I can score myself a ride along with him!!!

The GT86 is his drift car in Europe. He drifts the TC in Formula D; a car which he is very competitive in.

Hehe Gatebil is a great event! Kinda crazy aftertrack events :cheers:

I live 30min drive from Rudskogen, where the main Gatebil event is every year :happyanim:

We will be staying in Sapsborg which i believe is about 20-30 min from the track.

Will have my wife and child with me so probably wont be staying for the afterparties :D

I've worked with Aasbo over the years with Formula D, his driving is amazing but what's awesome about him is he is a super nice and genuine person, he takes time out of his day no matter what he's doing to answer fan questions/autographs etc! +1 for Aasbo as a person and amazing driver!

Yeah, Sarpsborg is about 20-30min drive from Rudskogen, depends where in Sarpsborg you are going to stay though :) But you are going to have a great time here! :D

Aasbo is an awesome drifter. If I remember correctly, his GT86 Iis making 700 or more hp, not 400hp.

That is some of the most impressive drifting I've ever seen... any where.

And I would put $100 down that he's running CONSIDERABLY more than 400hp :thumbsup:

This guy is sick! Very talented drift skils.

Standing on the pit wall when he sets the car up for T1 at Rudskogen is REALLY something! at the 200m sign doing 230kph he does a scandinavian flick, passing the end of pit wall with literally centimeters to spare, and continues to revers direction and enter T1 adn T2 in a perfect drift. Having a car pass you doing almost 200 THAT close is really something! I got a ride at the Toyota trackday event in september last year. The man is a legend already, and super nice!

Aasbo is one of the nicest guys I've met and i super chill to shoot the shits with. At the drift events, I've spoke with him on several occasions on his break time. When not in the pits, he watches other matches/bouts among the crowd to study what he is going to go up against, and that's what got my admiration of him. That and even when he loses a match, he'll still keep his cool to be nice to everyone. This guy is one of the best.
