Price increase on FR-S

I have been tracking this price thing for some time now as I await arrival. I just looked on the scion site and it now says that it will be $25990. Wasn't it $24990 and before that it was $24200?

For that price might as well go on ahead and get the BRZ.

WHAT IS GOING ON SCION?

Is it because of the high demand? So no the assumption is that pure pricing means dealerships can't increase price. That is ok because scion is going to do it for them.

For those who have already purchased theirs and signed on the bottom line, what did you end up paying?

Droopy 05-06-2012 10:27 AM

I just went to scion.com and it still says $24,930 for MT but i think the AT went up to $26,030

FR-S/GT-86 05-06-2012 10:27 AM

Are you not in the US? I just checked http://www.scion.com and the price remains $24930 for the manual... which is $24200 + $730 transport/delivery... so, nothing has changed in the US...

kpX 05-06-2012 10:31 AM

25990 is the Canadian price....you probably were at scion.ca when you saw the price

Dark_Angle 05-06-2012 10:31 AM

What the...

Check this out:

http://www.scion.ca/scion/en/vehicles/frs/overview

http://www.scion.com/cars/FR-S/

They both look legit to me but someone over in scion land messed up.

Drinking on the job = fired.

What? (Duh moment) $24,930 USD in the US, INCLUDING freight. Is this a troll thread?

MSRP on a 2013 Scion FR-S 6MT here in SoCal is $25245.00. My guess out the door after TTL with $0 down is in the $28k range. $29k range for the auto version.

Is this what you paid? If so then thanks but if you have yet to sign on the dotted line then sit there and spectate.

I am going to guess that you have bought SOMETHING before, anything. I would also assume, at least at some point in your life you paid something called sales tax, which will vary from county to county and state to state. As would title fees depending on where you live and any document fees. These are NOT included with the vehicle MSRP. You reference the Scion website regarding pricing, this implies that you were referring to the MSRP of the vehicle, the fact that you live in the US would also imply that you are interested in the cost of the vehicle in the US; Which is still the same as what it was when the MSRP was announced initially. All title fees, taxes, document fees will vary between dealers, states, etc. So, in short, what you really want to know is what did someone pay at a dealership in YOUR county for an FR-S OTD.

This just in, different countries might have different currencies!

Thanks for the useful info.

I have heard from a dealership that I trust (I know, fancy that), that there is talks of a price increase of 2.7% on the FR-S. It doesn't affect current allotments but future months may see it hit.

I don't think he was trying to use a scare tactic on me to buy the car, they're selling at MSRP with no silly 'dealer added' options, so I don't see him having a reason to try and sell me the car now. He was upfront on how it works and that they make about $650 on each FR-S sold, but it's more about volume bonuses at the end of the month.

Someone has a deposit on a Firestorm 6MT and he said that they don't want it now that they've seen Raven/Asphalt in person. Fine by me, just a matter if I can stomach the BeSpoke addition. Potentially, and if the 2.7% increase is true, that already is cheaper with the radio versus the hike up in price. Either way... it will be a difficult car to get from the looks around here.

I believe the OP is being intentionally obtuse.
