Need help with Enkei RPF1s!

So I'm heart set on getting RPF1s but I need some advice on sizing. First off, should I go with 17s 0r 18s? And how wide can I go if I still want to be able to get sideways? Basically, I want them took look good and perform well. Performance is more important to me though. Thanks!

BlueSTaR 02-10-2014 01:26 AM

What looks good is entirely up to you. Unless you want them to look good for someone else.

jflogerzi 02-10-2014 01:28 AM

17x8's is what I recommend. good for 245 size tire and they are light.

mfbmike 02-10-2014 03:16 AM

I can get sideways in 18x9.5 NT03's on 265/35's lol.

DanVIIIVI 02-10-2014 04:36 AM

If you are on stock power, and depending what kind of sideways you want to get, I would say a 17x8" would be a good choice. That is a lightweight rim and will allow you to safely run anything from 225 to 245 wide tyres in either square or staggered set ups depending on your preference and how the rest of the car is setup.

I'm personally going for rpf1's in 17x8" +35 with 225/45's on the front and rear. These are going to be my slide/track wheels.

Khorne 02-10-2014 04:48 AM

I say go 17x9 +35, IMO the chucky tyre look on this car is great.

For getting sideways that depends on your tyre choice, but NA on these with a decent but not too grippy tyre you can get the ass out easy.

Remember! 17's are lighter than 18's, and if you plan on lowering your car, the wheel gap will become lessened. With that in mind I'd go 17's. My minimum tuning size is 225/17, which is still driftable.

I'm going 18 for road clearance...after lowering. Drifting is no longer a focal point for me. God speed!

Couldn't agree more.

Run the 17x9 +35 with a 245/40R17 tire. It's the perfect fitment for this car. Period.

dem00n 02-10-2014 08:50 AM

Sure, you could get sideways with a 265...would i want to?

Sure, i could sleep with a fat chick from Walmart...would i want to?

Fit skinnier tyres then? 225 will fit on a 9" wheel.

And i dunno because you enjoy the tender lovin' over a larger woman?

TylerLieberman 02-10-2014 09:33 AM

Check my build thread.

I run 17x9 +35 with 215/45 Federals. Drift courses with speeds in excess of 70mph easy.

If you have any questions, feel free to post them there in my thread

Victor Draken 02-10-2014 09:34 AM

17x7.5 +48 (lighter then 8") 215/45 for me is the best solution unless you go FI

That is to much of stretch at that tire size.

whatever you do, dont do that. too stretched. i too would do 17x9+35 w/245/4017 or 17x8 with 225's

VacantSky 02-10-2014 08:15 PM

I run 17X9 +45's with 235/40's and run a 3mm spacer in the back. I think the car looks perfect. I will probably step up to 245/40's next but with the 235's on the 9" wide I can get her side ways for some decent power slides on the odd occasion.

Cool story. Tell me more....

Federals run wide. They're nearly 235mm in width. I have almost no stretch at all. Thanks.

OP wanted to know how wide a tire he could run while still being able to get sideways.

I was only posting to let him know it's still possible, even with a 265.

Fat chicks give the best head, because they're hungry.

Dropped 35mm at the front and 25mm at the rear in that picture, I still need to even the drop up but the HID auto leveler needed to be fixed first before i could go further on the rear.

Due to Australian laws we don't have manual HID level adjustment on our cars, auto or nothing.
