I like the other one better in my opinion especially for around the same price. |
I would like it if it looked better. The sliding is nice for the cupholder.
|
i like the fact that it's raised, and that I can still have my coffee mug or water bottle in the cup holder. will definitely buy.
|
Yeah, meh... It should be lower profile and taper off at the front instead of at the rear. This isn't the official Japanese one is it? It's just a Scion domestic adapter type of deal, right?
|
It has the "after-thought" look...
|
It has a new base that adapts over the existing center base. Not a very good design, never really fully conceal's everything. Sort of cheap but I have not seen one in person.

I WANT I LOSE :(

I don't see why people are so obsessed with a center arm rest o.o

Fucking comedy. A whole ten bucks at Ikea get's you that same thing.

I'd imagine that my elbow would be hitting the center armrest over and over when i shift and would drive me nuts! I'd rather save the few hundred on something really useful :/ |
The full folding EU 86 version one is cheaper and way better looking and functional IMO.
|
Swing and a miss! Good idea but poor execution.

For those interested, more pics in this thread on it: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1479075
Why couldn't they just make one that looks like the EUDM one, but slide from front to rear. It could then even be a rear seat armrest for passengers in the rear when it slides back. My Imagination Below (Sorry for the Terrible MS Paint) Something similar to the armrest in the 2nd Gen Lexus IS http://s23.postimg.org/xf1963kyh/idea.png |

I like that a lot better than the other one by Toyota.

I rest my arm on the plastic behind the e-brake and have no issue with it. I use the cupholders and the areas in front and behind for things like my phone, change, a Nalgene bottle. Plus a big thing right there would make it hard to shift. |

It's North Americans coffee obsession that told Toyota it needed cup holders. Just cover the dam hole. The one in the door is good enough. The ones in the console are just way to far back. Almost useless.
|
I still like the euro one too. Even the cheap ones that just plug into the cup holders look better
|
I wish there was a way to test this thing out. I don't want to drop 200 bucks on something I may or may not like. I never thought I'd say this, but I've gotten used to putting my arm by the e-brake and it's relatively comfortable for me now. I still wouldn't mind having a legitimate arm rest, but I'd like to see if it's worth the money.

i honestly like this one. the functionality of it just seems better. i love the look of the euro one better but day to day this seems like a better option.

Anyone install it yet? |

Unfortunately, I did not take any pics of the install. It was pretty straightforward and easy. It does come packed with a paper template to cut out and line up for the holes. No need for the cover shown in the video, but everything else about the install is the same. I did it myself in about an hour (after carefully cutting out the paper templates). Likes: The ability to still use the cup holders without obscuring the passenger. The padding is cofortable and is good for long road trips. The cover slides/locks into the front, middle, and rear positions. It matches the interior well. Dislikes: Sits slightly taller than necessary. If it was maybe 10mm or so shorter, it would be perfect to me. Aesthetically not as pleasing as some of the other armrests. Overall: My passengers and I like it. If in the market for an armrest and looking for something functional that you can still use the center console with ease, this is what you're looking for. If looking for something that works as an armrest, but you don't use or need the center console, I would probably go with the euro armrest or something similar. |
