TRD parts!

So I was messing around on the accessories website (internal website for Toyota and Scion) noticed that they have released several nice items

Quickshifter $195 (my next mod)
Sway bars front and rear set $450
18'' alloy wheels staggered set up $249 per wheel.

Finally good to see they are letting us in on the TRD fun.

Yeah lets hope this ain't everything. So do you feel better when you use TRD products as opposed to other aftermarket options?

I know personally I feel better using TRD parts. Esp since I get a discount on them and free installation.

switchlanez 02-05-2014 03:20 AM

Quickshifter doesn't appear to include a replacement lever unlike the JDM TRD/STI but it's much more affordable.

It looks like you retain the stock lockout lever.

Tuan 02-05-2014 04:44 AM

Does anyone have photos of these TRD wheels installed? They look pretty good..

Carlitoz3 02-05-2014 04:51 AM

Haven't the sway bars been out already?
I'm liking the quick shifter tho ;)

If it's something like the short throw shifter, then yes, I would rather have TRD. A dealer can directly associate that with something happening with the transmission.

Once you get your vehicle back could you please share your thoughts on it and if it's worth the money.

Holy shit bro. If you don't let us know how it is, you're gonna have 3 very pusses off people.

tjohnson104 02-21-2014 01:51 AM

So I read the instructions. I thought I would have to dig up the inside of the car and take apart the shifting area like you have to on the kartboy shifter. But actually, you do all the work on the under side of the car. It looks like you remove 2 bolts on the drive shaft bracket... and then kind of go from there. Should hopefully take 2 hours at most. Oh and FYI, the printing date for these instructions is 5/09/13... I wonder what else TRD has sitting on the shelf waiting to be released

Any chance you can snap a picture of the instructions so we can see exactly what it does?

I'm looking at my instructions now. There are actually 7 pages worth... I'll try to get some pics but not sure how well it will come out

Scavanger 02-21-2014 04:24 PM

It's stiff compared to the stock one but that's because the retaining pin was a super tight fit so it will need to be broke in and then it will losen up

I'm hoping the shifter was just a very, very small part of that : )

Scavanger 02-21-2014 04:53 PM

LCAs - 250
Coilovers - 960
Rims & tires - 1500
Shark fin antenna - 100
Cold air intake - 350
Camber bolts - 45
Catback exhaust - 750
Strut bar - 250
Light kit - 260
Short throw shifter - 260

The rest was tax and labor

AznBRZer 02-21-2014 04:56 PM
