New Enkei Tuning T6S

I have been looking at options for a gold six spoke wheel for some time and came across some new wheels from Enkei I haven't seen mentioned on the forum yet. Enkei T6S.

Unfortunately Volk te37s are out of my price range but what are the communities thoughts on this and the other wheels of similar design (Rota Grids/ Varrstoen). I will be ordering the car soon through Subaru's VIP program and will be a daily driver with hopefully a few track days sprinkled throughout the year. I know 18s wouldn't be ideal for the track but it is the direction I am leaning for admittedly shallow cosmetic reasons :D.

What are some of your thoughts on the wheel in general and for the specific sizes offered in gold, 17x8 +45, 18x8 +45, and 18x9.5 +45. Thanks for any input.

I think the TS6 is a good option for those that cannot afford the almighty Rays wheels. I run Enkei 18x9.5+38 and am happy with the look and performance. If I was buying again I'd probably go 17x9+35. I see the TS6 comes in 17x9+45. That's a good size IMO. 17's will be better for the track if you get the right combination of size, weight and tire.

Do some research, there is a ton of info on here about what works.

I like the design. About the name/brand, Enkei are a respected brand. Rota and Varrstoen are considered "nockoff" brands, but I personally dont care what other ppl call a brand they havent even owned themselfes.

The Sizes are not that good for our cars, unless you're running coilovers. The front has limited space untill you rub the inner stuits on the stock suspension, so the 18x8 +45 will fit, but the 18x9.5 +45 will rub already in the front. Be aware however that they may not be as concave in design in 8" than in 9.5", always make sure you see a picture of the actuall wheel size before buying it (usually the "showroom pictures" are showing the most wide wheel with the most concave design)

Its weird that the Japanese website doesn't show the T6S, Kojin and Rajin, which made me wonder if they are made outside Japan :iono:

Thanks
I was worried a +45 offset in a 8" width wheel would stick too far into the wheel well but there are more cars than I thought running with this set up and it doesn't look half bad.

Here is thebear21 running Enkei Raijins 18x8.0 +45 with I believe is stock height.

And detainu lowered and inch on Eibach Pro Kit.

I wish there were other options for the gold finish but at least they are in the twins bolt pattern.

The 17x9 was another size i was seriously considering but unfortunately I was looking for something in a gold finish and the only 17 is a 17x8 +45. Correct me if I'm wrong but that might be a little too much offset.

They look great but are heavy. 17x8 is 20.75lbs.

ZetaVI 02-03-2014 11:08 AM

They look really great but you can just see that they weigh a ton.

Those pics above of the 18x8+45 look alright. A spacer in ther rear would sort out the back.

That weight issue is a worry though.

RPF1's are light(ish). My set up is quite a lot lighter than stock, like 2 pounds a corner.

Good luck and remember: cheap, light, strong - pick two.

RPF1 is all three. Cheap, light, and strong. $1200 new to $800 used. Just as cheap as Rota without the weight and strong penalty.

OP do you want 6 spoke only?

The Enkei EV5 looks nice and is lighter: (Only problem is they only come in hyper black or bronze)

Do the enkei T6S come with a 5x100 bolt pattern? And if so, would they make the 18x9.5 +38? I'm trying to organize this all before I purchase these wheels. I have recently installed Tein Street Basis Z coilovers all kept at factory specs and I love the handling.

They make it in 18x9.5 +45 5x100, if you have extended studs you can run a spacer and bring the offset to whatever you want though.

My guess is that they are not made for the Japanese market, hence their absence from the Japanese site. Probably nothing to do with the origin of where they are manufactured.

I could only find them in +45.

Looks great.

How's does it drive compared to stock wheels and tires?

I'm thinking of just adding spacers and a small drop for now to feed the mod bug, on a budget.
