BRZ WRBLUE from Thailand
8 Attachment(s)
Hi guys,
my name is Pae. I live in Bangkok, and my ride is BRZ WRBLUE with the stick drive. BRZ is the 2nd car of my life. Before owning the BRZ, I had the black Honda City 2003 with CVT gearbox for four years. When the time comes for me to buy a new car. BRZ was one of the very first that came to my mind, however after going for a test-drive, I really like the car but Subaru dealers in Thailand, they don't have the manual transmission as a test car. So, I spent about a month thinking about which transmission should I go for. Many people suggested me that I should go for the automatic since the traffic in Bangkok is pretty insane, that got me thinking for a while. However, I made up my mind to go with the stick drive and I had to wait for three months for my car to arrive from Japan. After a long waiting, I finally got the car and it took me a while to get the feeling of the clutch lol. After about 100 days of ownerships, this is my creation ^^. Here is the list of all mods that I have done to my car so far. 1. Perrin cat-back exhaust system without resonators. 2. K&N drop-in air filter. 3. Enkei RS05RR 18x8.5 + 42 front, and 18x9.5 + 43 rear. 4. Yokohama AD08R 225/40/18 front and 235/40/18 rear. 5. Eibach(pro kit) lower spring that drops 1 inch all around. 6. Carbon Fiber Zele Wing (Coming Soon). For the body kits, I'm still considering about going for STI or Zele. Since, my wing from Zele will arrive soon in the late February. I will need to see the quality of the craftsmanship before going all out with the rest of the body kits. All the pictures are taken by myself with Nikon D3s + 35mm f1.4 Nano. Update 18/2/14 I just added a coupe of pics of my BRZ hitting the track on Valentine's day along with the club. Modification parts to come ! 1. STI lug nuts by Mcgard estimated time of arrival in a few days. 2. Invidia catless front pipe (Since I can't seem to find any Perrin catless). estimated time of arrival 1/3/14. 3. Zele Carbon Fiber Front Lip estimated time of arrival 10/3/14. 4. Zele Carbon Fiber Wing estimated time of arrival 10/3/14. Update 23/2/14 Now, the STI lug nuts have finally arrived, I really love the design of the lug nuts especially the STI label on each of them. Within the box, it also comes with the special block(that used to remove & mount the lug nuts on the wheels). By having that special block, it ensures me that my wheels now have some sort of security system to prevent other from stealing my wheels.:) and hell yeah it looks so nice on my car :happyanim: Moving on, a few days ago, I just replaced the head unit, since the OEM head unit of BRZ in Thailand only comes in the old fashion way(without the touchscreen). What annoyed me the most of that old head unit is that during the night the colour of the buttons and the display screen is green(the ugly green). Despite all the red/orange colour of climate control and tachometer. So, I decided to mount Pioneer AVH-X5650BT and a rear camera on to my ride. After using the new head unit for a day, I found that my life is much more easier than before. I can now answer the phone while driving via bluetooth and the rear camera really help me estimate the distance when it comes to parking (I have to watch out for the bump that can damage my exhaust tips). The sound quality also increases which really surprised me.:laughabove::) Lastly, I just solved the rear deck noise problem that occurs to me a week ago after hitting the tracks with my friends. I found a solution to solve that mysterious noise from this community. I'm very appreciated for all the users that keep sharing about the experience with their cars. :thanks: Update 4/5/14 Here is the list of what I have done over the last few months. 1.Zele CF front lip 2.Zele CF spoiler 3.Invidia catless front pipe 4.HKS Racing Suction Reloaded Intake 5.Tom's tail-lights. There are still a lot of things to be done including side skirts, rear diffusers, KW V3, Recaro CS, and ATS braking system. What really concern me is the gap between the tyres and the fenders. I can easily put two of my fingers(my fingers are very small) vertically to fit that gap. I want to reduce that gap and improve the ride quality at the same time. I will probably go for the KW V3 first for the next mod. End. I will keep in touch with every comment and any update about my BRZ. Have a good day people. |

Yeah the road is pretty rough here, there are so many potholes and uneven road surfaces. I really wanna lower the car about 1 more inch but I guess, I will wait for the front lip to be installed first. Quote:

You should find me a GT86 owner that wants to trade for a Scion airbag so I can bring mine back when I go home. :D
Finder's fee would be paid in liquid form. |

After installing HKS Racing Suction Reloaded. The sound of the intake is pretty good and noticeable at low RPM and also produces a great sound at high rpm range.:w00t:
|
Thanks!!!!

Thanks man! Your photos are a big help! I'm leaning toward painting some of it WRB blue much like the STi car. |
do you have any pictures of the car on stock suspension with your RS05RR's?
|
I just love that wing man ! No CELs with the HKS ?

I changed the wheels and the lower spring at the same time, so I dont have any pic of the car with the stock spring. |

Driving on normal roads, I would say that this intake only has the sound, acceleration is slower than the stock. |

It has been a while since the last time I updated this forum.
After a long time of about 7-8 months. I've done so many things (I really meant it) to the car. I had come across a lot of problems with the car. I would say it here now that I'm so appreciated by those who post all the issues forum especially the transmission problems and all the other reviews of all those exhaust and intake. My car would not be here without the help of my friends and A Motorsport , a specialist in modifying 86/BRZ in Thailand who give me a lot of advices about mods since this is my first car that I really modified it in every aspect. First of all, one of the mistakes that I made is to drive this car madly as a daily driven car. I used to heel and toe all the time for the whole month even though I already got the big brake kits. After a month or two of such a spirited drive the problem occurred, I started to feel that there is some grinding when I downshift from 6th to 5th gear at the speed of 80km/h onwards. Later on, I found out that the cause of the problem was the worn-out synchromesh. Then I ordered the whole set of synchromesh to replace the worn out ones. However, that did not stop me from a spirited drive so the next thing that got damaged was the gear driveshaft. I gotta leave my car at the Subaru Motor Image(authorized dealer in Thailand) for another 2 months for all the parts from Japan to arrive and install them to fix the problem. Right after installing the new replacements for all the worn-out. All the problem is solved so for those who has problrm with grinding I would recommend you guys to replace the synchromesh that would really solve the problem. I will continue telling you guys about my other mistakes next time ^^ stay tuned. Here is the list of the mods that I've put into the car after about 7 months without the update. Update again !
A week ago, I just removed Borla UEL header and replaced it with Tomei EL header instead. What's more ? I also install the Crawford Intake Manifold Spacer which many people said that it will improve the car performance especially the response. Right after finished installing I went for a dyno and this is the result Attachment 101221As the result, the response and the housepower really improve across the range. I gotta retune my BRZ to get the most out of the new toys since I have changed so many things. 1. Switching from Injen cold air intake to Skunk2. 2. Installing Original Runduce Pulley kits. 3. Changing from Borla UEL to Tomei EL. 4. Crawford Intake manifold spacer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
About to retune my BRZ today. I will post the result of the dyno later on. The goal is to get 200whp !
