here is a link to a web site that will help you figure out what class you car belongs in
with your modifications: DIY Classing The site is a little out of date but it will give you a good start. good luck and welcome to the insanity! :) |

The Megan Diff support puts you in Street Modified (SM). If you remove the Megan Diff support, you'll be in C Street Prepared (CSP) as a result of the Perrin Master Cylinder Brace. If you remove the Megan Diff support and the Perrin Master Cylinder brace, provided your wheels are <= 9 in wide, you'll be in Street Touring eXtreme (STX). |

STF is for for front wheel drive and STC is primarily for EF civics and couple other odd balls. STS does not allow for any form of LSD so that rules you out of there since we all have the torsen. 17's would be more ideal due to the weight of the wheel and the gearing. |

Do you have a picture of the Megan Racing Differential Support you have installed? The picture I found of it showed as a support bar. If they are just the bushings, they are legal for STX. How wide are your wheels?

I should have mentioned this earlier, but as a novice, don't worry so much about class. Also, don't worry about how other drivers are doing. Concentrate more on having fun and improving times. When you have some seat time, and a better clue as to where you want to be with your car, then worry about the class you are in.

I agree with @knipple. In your novice season, you can run, depending on your region, as a Novice. Sometimes they'll class it (e.g. N-STX), but not always. Local clubs won't care about your mods as much. You can always run as non-compete and have a blast. If autox is for you, then start planning for a class later.

How do u guys feel about rpf1 17x8? Are there any restrictions on offset wheels?

Again, I wouldn't worry about trying to make the car faster as the car will not be the limiting factor initially. It will be the driver that is the limiting factor. So concentrate on becoming a faster driver prior to changing anything else on the car. I have seen on multiple occasions an experienced driver in a Prius on stock Prius tires beat a novice in a Corvette. |

As for what you should focus on, I would recommend you focus on improving as a driver and not modify your car anymore until you have gotten some experience behind the wheel. Generally speaking, I have found that the other competitors are helpful, so don't hesitate to ask questions, and for rides with them. |

I'm from WI too. Here are some clubs in WI that you can run with.
Fun laid back group to run with. I've personally have gone to these events. Two of the guys that help run one of these clubs have gone to nationals. One took first and the other took 3rd. I believe in AWD street tire class? http://www.cwscc.com/vb_forum/ http://www.fvscc.com/forum/index.php Never ran with them, but heard there is some pretty good competition. http://www.waiautox.org/ http://www.scca-milwaukee.org/ http://www.madisonsportscarclub.com/ A facebook link to midwest events if you have Face Book. https://www.facebook.com/midwestautoevents?ref=hl |
