A little bit of snow and suddenly I have to waste my day off dealing with this. Courtesy of our village idiot with priors.

wheelhaus 01-29-2014 09:56 AM

Sumbitch. Could have been worse. Do you know said idiot?

DrSleepy 01-29-2014 10:00 AM

Yes, it's the same fella who I suspect hit my MR2 and definitely damaged my Celica last year. This time around it was in plain site so he had to leave a note.

jarviz 01-29-2014 10:01 AM

is it only the fender or is there hood damage as well?

DrSleepy 01-29-2014 10:04 AM

Fender, door edge is bent inwards, plastics, and unfortunately the wheel was not turned to the side when I parked her this morning. To prevent badness I just went inside for coffee before the full assessment.

DarkSunrise 01-29-2014 10:30 AM

Ouch, painful to see. :(

Mikem53 01-29-2014 10:37 AM

that sucks.. sorry to see... hope you get it resolved quickly..

FRSupra 01-29-2014 11:32 AM

You've had two sporty Toyota's before the FR-S. You sir, are a friend of mine.

Sorry to hear about the damages though, and it's an UM too :(. I hope for a right/quick fix.

humfrz 01-29-2014 11:51 AM

Ouch ....... that is a painful one .....:(

Let's hope it gets fixed soon.

FiRStsc10n 01-29-2014 11:55 AM

How does one have a license yet has hit your FR-S, MR2, and Celica. Worst driver ever

somejace 01-29-2014 12:02 PM

Why are you parked in the street?

Had to move it away before his wife had her turn, also for lighting.

Im at the body shop now getting an estimate of the damages. Friends are entertaining the idea of taking whatever we settle for and going rocket bunny.

Out of pocket cost or insurance?

marky 01-29-2014 02:48 PM

Ouch..... sorry. .. going rocket bunny= wider=more sticking out the road=more to get wacked again...

frslee 01-29-2014 03:36 PM

tsk tsk tsk... drivers like them should have their licenses taken away.

rocketbunny would be nice, but it'll cost you hell when it comes to wheels :)

vividracing 01-29-2014 03:40 PM

Damn... I hope it's just the fender.

Mr.Jay 01-29-2014 03:47 PM

that murder death kill feeling is hard to resist some days

FyeaFRS 01-29-2014 03:49 PM

Sounds likes someone's knee caps need a visit from a ball-peen hammer.

HeubergerMotors 01-29-2014 03:51 PM

Ouchhhh!

Whitigir 01-29-2014 04:22 PM

Feel sick to the stomach...gosh...Sorry to see

DrSleepy 01-29-2014 04:30 PM

Estimate is $1357 plus a week away from my lady. Thus far the neighbor is talking over paying cash (probably to avoid more insurance backlash), we will see how it goes.

SixthElement 01-29-2014 05:12 PM

Sorry about your ride man. I hope it all works out for you.

Vincenttam 01-30-2014 12:35 AM

will insurance insure your bunny?? <== lol
I mean you already got hit my this a hole 3 times. Even if he admits at fault in the future, he's wasting your time.

stevo_12v 01-30-2014 12:54 AM

$1357 to fix? Jeeze you guys pay stuff ridiculously cheap over there.
You should look into the INGs+ fenders btw :P

raytrix 01-30-2014 01:23 AM

One solution, this.

Ouch, sorry that this happened to you.
He also hit a celica?!?!?! I use to baby a celica (I have pics if anyone wants :D) and if anyone hurt my baby... I'd probably be featured on the news. (Sadly she isn't with us anymore.)

Is it wrong that I would want to go through insurance? Shows him he just can't do this shit all the time. How he still has a license is beyond me.

Ammunition 01-30-2014 02:51 PM

Wow - so sorry to hear this. I went crazy when the idiot that parked my car after my first oil change scraped up the underside of my front bumper on a curb stop, and that wasn't even visible unless you were on the ground looking up underneath the car.

At least you can take solace in that he left a note and therefor you're not stuck with the bill to boot. Maybe time to get a dash cam? I hope all goes well working it out with the insurance and getting her fixed up.

torqdork 01-30-2014 04:21 PM

Sorry for your eventful car ownership experiences.

Two assumptions in this thread make me wonder if a) he's legally licensed in this country and b) he has insurance.

Good luck with the repair and check into diminished value compensation.

Carlitoz3 01-30-2014 04:27 PM

Ouch!

DC2R 01-30-2014 10:10 PM

At least he left a note.

DrSleepy 01-31-2014 09:16 AM

So an update. That evening the neighbor dropped off a check covering the damages and the rental fee. I may drop off the twin at the shop and suck it up to the rental company for something not too bad.

FyeaFRS 01-31-2014 11:04 AM

Take his money, then file a claim with his insurance...

Yikes. Are you sure it was an "accident"?
Maybe he just doesn't like sporty Toyotas....

AVodka14 02-06-2014 01:12 PM

Looks great buddy! I would move far away from that idiot. He has affinity to running into your lovely Toyota sports cars. Glad she looks restored to OEM!

Is it just me or do our cars attract idiots more so than usual? I see so many people on this forum having nimrods run into our cars. The person who hits mine in such a stupid accident would not be so lucky. I am not reluctant to throw a blow at them or their car if it is pure stupidity that caused the accident.

I just about got plowed yesterday by a truck with an idiot riding with a gangsta lean on his phone. The roads were slick and he was taking a turn turn onto the street I was turning from. He was coming in hot and had his signal on. He was heading straight for my front end. When he realized he could not manage the turn as he was sliding. I already had my door open to get out and beat the shit out of him before he made a good decision to stay straight on the road.
