VW GTI driver slaps biker for no reason

Just for everyone to know. I was NOT trying to race him, and I know the video makes it seem so. But I just wanted to pass him since I noticed he kept staying right next to me. I accelerated a bit to pass him but slowed down when I noticed I was approaching speed limit as well the a yellow light. The guy, for some odd reason, cut right behind me when I passed him, cutting off my friend and tailing me very closely (according to my friend). I didn’t notice him behind me since he did it so abruptly, I assume he either got pissed that he thought I was trying to race him? Or that I purposely brake checked him? I'm siding with the biker on this one. So many times they get bad raps, but this is just another idiot in a VW. I do love the first comment in the article, "He got mad because his check engine light is on.."

Dumbass hurt himself more than he hurt the biker with that slap/punch bs.

That's why I open carry while on my bike. Nobody rides my ass.

I liked that the lady in the van tried to help out. The VW driver is an asshat.

if i was the biker, the vw guy probably would have a broken jaw and nose. Lucky the biker dude didn't beat his ass with knuckle gloves

yep I probably would broke his nose with my helmet, but you definitely did the right thing people are crazy and your always more vulnerable on a bike.

Short man syndrome....

I'm proud of the guy for handling it that well. If he had hit the guy back, especially as violently as some of the people here are suggesting, it just would've ended poorly for everyone and would've been a lot worse. He did the right thing. Maybe not as rewarding as that guy getting floored, but no need for more violence.

The dude with GTi would have gotten his ass kicked, especially if you're equipped with a helmet and gloves. Dude was dumb and now his dumb face is all over the internet along with his plate. SMH

They handled it very well. I don't think that I could be that calm. There's no law say that you can not accelerate to pass other cars, as long as you are not over speed.

If I were in that case, I'm pretty sure that the VW would have to buy the new driver side mirror.

and that's why it's good to have a camera

On an unrelated side note, did anyone else notice that his friend was riding a Ducati 848? Probably one of my all time favorite bikes:

That VW driver was way out of line to stop in the middle of traffic and slap the biker's helmet. He should definitely be fined for that IMO.
