colHolm 05-02-2012 01:52 PM

Did you get that from your dealer?

Dark_Angle 05-02-2012 01:52 PM

You can lease :D

TheJuggernaut 05-02-2012 01:52 PM

Nice! Hope Subaru offers something similar

FT86FRS 05-02-2012 01:55 PM

I'll stick with my bank, they offer me a line of credit at prime (currently 3%) unless Subaru can match or do better :)

I know they are confirmed, I just didn't see them up on scion.ca yet so I was wondering where you got 'em.

about 446.00$ all taxes and fees approximately 24 month lease
residual at 19492 + tax

7thgear 05-02-2012 04:16 PM

so at the end of the 24 months, i will have the option to purchase the vehicle for 22,000. (by either extending my lease of financing the car) correct?

SCIONMONTREAL 05-02-2012 04:26 PM

My figures could be slightly off and I have to project taxes in 2 years in a different province which I don't have the info on.

In Quebec the residual value would put the car at about 22 500, Residuals are a tricky game though so even that could be incorrect if taxes go up here.

One question I have. Say if you decide to increase the monthly lease amount by say $50/month for a 2 year lease, do you decrease the residual by $1200 or so?

I'll explain. If I leased, it would be through the company. Then my plan would be to do the buy out personally. So if I make the company pay more for the duration of the lease, my intention would be to lower the final cost for myself.

I'm not sure this is possible... TFS sets fixed Lease End Values for a given term. If you want your buyout at the end to be lower, you'd have to lease for a longer term.

Seems odd. Since if you're throwing them extra money sooner and still giving them the same residual minus your extra payments they are even farther ahead since the residual would be calculated on you borrowing more money for a longer period of time.

Oh well. Thanks for the answer!

Check with your dealer to be sure. I could be wrong, it's happened before!

I'd guess it's based on 24,000kms per year, so 48,000. You can get a lower payment if you opt for a 20,000km per year maximum.

That'd be like $1000/month though. Not bad if you already have the money sitting there but would hate to be stretched in a slow month. Plus, the main fear is we're probably going to sell this house and buy a new one so would hate to not be able to do that comfortably because of a big car payment.

I'm just hoping this car is out before we pull the trigger on selling and buying a new house so I don't get guilted into putting off buying this car. :P

So i asked to be pre-approved for a 2.7% 36-month car loan with a $1000 down payment and the bill came out to be 838/mo. I will most likely do a $5000-8000 down payment for the car which will bring it down to 694/mo for 36 months. I will be full paid off in 3 years. That would be amazing!

Enemies 05-04-2012 05:15 AM

I'd love to get 2.7% but I doubt that'll happen. The best rate I'll get is probably through Subaru and I expect 3.9% at best, probably 4.9%, hopefully not worse.

I e-mailed my dealer yesterday and he got back to me to say that he is expecting a new program sheet (information containing rates) for the BRZ soon and will let me know when it's available.

Hopefully Subaru follows in Scion's footsteps here.

When do you think you'll hear back about whether your approval goes through? Good luck!
