Not a peep... If this is like their other exhaust ckmponents, I know this is going to be much better quality than the crap from Borla. no comment on the flex joints

Basket Case 02-09-2014 01:01 AM

Wow, for the price of the header I wonder how the quality is. I wouldnt mind picking one up at that price.

husker741 02-09-2014 01:21 AM

I don't like buying anything when they reference our cars as 2012+

I believe the gt86 was released in 2012 in japan... so.... not really wrong in saying 2012+

Yes our cars started as 2012 models with the GT86. I'm not sure which countries started with '12 though. The US started with 2013. Normally your antics are funny, but this one was just uneducated. :bonk:

Boxer486 02-09-2014 03:37 AM

Doesn't look better than Borla from the pics. Look like cheap clones but that's from the pics. Do they have a lifetime warranty like Borla?

Efferalgan 02-09-2014 04:18 AM

Agree - looks like a re-make of Borla

Basket Case 02-09-2014 11:23 AM

I have been doing some digging around and it looks like Tsudo has made headers for other subarus. I rad like ten pages of this thread:
http://www.rs25.com/forums/f5/164567...headers-6.html

Looks like people are happy with them. i will be doing some more research because that price point is incredibly enticing...

So is the revworks also a clone of Borla? There's only so many ways to make the same thing. From the digging I've done, Tsudo is not a cloning mill. (Still no affiliation...)

To all those uneducated with the tuning scene, Tsudo's been around for awhile, and outside of the cool kid FT86 club, their parts are popular and proven with other makes/models. Lots of Honda and Subaru people run Tsudo, because it's affordable, performs, made of decent thickness T304 / SUS304 stainless steel, and is well built (albeit in China).

Well that's nice, but if someone talks about quality and craftsmanship then posts pics like that up, color me unimpressed. The number of obvious flaws and lack of attention to detail are many. It is cheap so there's that. I never heard anything back about a lifetime warranty like the supposedly awful Borla either.

Please elaborate.

jamesm 02-09-2014 08:35 PM

Tsudo makes one of the best sounding exhausts on our cars, IMHO. If it was 3" I'd have bought it over my perrin.

Well, the tubing has dents and dings all over it like they got a discount on tubing with imperfections or played hockey with it. The top flex section appears to be out of alignment and the last ring is bent. The pictures are too fuzzy to judge the welds and it's hard to see what's happening inside the pipes.

I'm not saying it won't last 500K miles, or sound like a F1 V10, or make 1000hp, but if someone links these pictures and says "hey, check out this awesome quality" I have to wonder.

I wasn't making an argument...but EVERYONE has seen the borla photos. Warranty or not, crap is crap. Tsudo does provide a lifetime warranty. I can not comment on how much of a warranty this is because I didn't need it with my exhaust.

Oh ya!

Are you planning in getting this header?

Ah I see. I read your initial post from a different perspective. Honestly, I don't like the OP either. I also don't like the fact that this is not 2.5". I see the flex strain you are talking about too.

As for the welds, they aren't top of the line show quality on my exhaust, but they do seem to be done properly.

xia 02-09-2014 10:00 PM

Is it out yet? I see semotor posted that it will be out feb 24th. Ive read very good reviews from subbie guys who are happy with their tsudo products so its worth a try. If out, im in!

I agree with your assessment, but since this header isn't out yet, that's likely just a prototype semotors got a hold of. And although Tsudo is decent quality products at great prices, personally I'm going with the OFH.

For sound clips of Tsudo exhaust:
Revworks UEL header, Tsudo catback vids
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ighlight=tsudo

For a view of Tsudo production products, here's some shots of their FT86 2.5" Overpipe-back system. The welds could be better, but I've seen lots of "good" products in these forums with worse welds.

The first one is my picture :p

Lverasky 02-10-2014 12:44 AM

when is it release?

boredom.is.me 02-10-2014 12:49 AM

The expected release date was when I posted this.

Ammonia 02-21-2014 06:52 PM

Minor bump as the release date reads 2/24 on this website:

http://www.semotors.com/tsudo-2013-s...FS_xOgodckIAtQ

xia 02-21-2014 08:00 PM

Contacted them a week or so ago, wont have these in until March. Was told they will have a video of the UELH up in the next couple days or so.

xia 02-21-2014 08:20 PM

Talked to a rep just a minute ago! Tsudo OP and Header.
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tj70N95JLzc"]Tsudo 2013+ Scion FRS & Subaru BRZ Unequal Length Header - YouTube[/ame]

Rep is telling me MID-March!

boredom.is.me 02-21-2014 11:11 PM

That's a lot of burble!

That looks to be the full exhaust.

Ammonia 02-22-2014 05:15 PM

I hope this pans out. They keep postponing the release date lol

mwjcyber 02-22-2014 06:02 PM

Too raspy for my taste.

I'm wondering if that was in a stock muffler or not.

akahenry 02-22-2014 06:44 PM

Yeah too raspy and not bassy for my tastes. Though, bass is mostly determined through the cat back, I still think this set up a little raspy for my tastes.

stevo585 03-21-2014 03:29 PM

Anyone ever dyno one of these to confirm gains?

ProjectD 05-11-2014 09:39 PM

Anyone running this setup and or tested this yet?

boredom.is.me 05-11-2014 10:20 PM

Just came out apparently.

Fast_Freddy 05-12-2014 02:05 AM

I haven't seen this in person but it looks promising.

http://www.semotors.com/tsudo-2013-s...length-header/

http://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/server40...0.1280.jpg?c=2

1.625" OD primaries like Borla with a slightly larger 2.375" collector vs 2.25" for Borla. The Tsudo overpipes and front pipes are 2.5" OD, not 60mm as some have stated.

.

checked the site...where does it list the OP? When i select "downpipe" it eventually leads me to a Megan Racing FP.....what am i missing? :bonk:

boredom.is.me 05-12-2014 02:35 AM

I've been trying to figure out what these look like. They are exactly like the OFT headers, just different diameter and the flex joints.

l0aded 05-12-2014 02:37 AM

I had a Tsudo catback + high flow cat downpipe (midpipe?). It was pretty nice but it was definitely on the loud side. Sold my high flow cat down pipe and kept the catback. Overall from my impression is positive. Everything fit right, sounds right and looks good so no complaints. I had the whole thing installed for 500, sold my high flow cat downpipe for 150 so the whole catback was only 350 which I think is great lol.

If this header combo is anything like the other parts it's going to be on the loud side.

Fast_Freddy 05-12-2014 02:38 AM

I was told that the Tsudo overpipe has been redesigned and will be available soon. In the mean time any of the exisiting 2.5" overpipes will bolt right up.

Loud??? Have you heard any of the others? This exhaust is quiet compared to most for this car.
