Cars and Coffee Irvine
 

Is there ever an organized meet at Cars & Coffee in Irvine? There are usually a few random FRS/BRZ, but I haven't seen a huge turnout. This should happen.

To plan a huge turnout, it's probably best to get in touch to schedule something with the organizers. Unofficial big groups are usually frowned upon.

Most probably are just in the spectator lot, which if most are stock, should be. I'm not trying to self-hate on FRS/BRZ owners, but the spirit of the show (I've lived in Irvine pretty much all my life and have attended CnC on and off for years) has always been to see rare and/or unique vehicles. Yes, you can say that our cars are still pretty rare, but 2-3 examples is more than enough. Unfortunately, the rich, supercar, and american muscle crowd don't believe in this spirit (just as I don't need to see 10+ FRS/BRZs, I don't need to see 10+ Ferrari F430s), but large groups of the same vehicles have always killed the show.

I actually tend to agree with you, most (no all) large groups of the same car do take the excitement out of the show. I also have been going for years to see the rare and exotic wares that people display. The few FRS?BRZs that I have seen have been tastefully modified, so as to present something different to look at, at least for a twins fan.

Tell that to the 15 plus mustangs the 911 and corvette and camaros that show up every week

That is exactly what I mean. At least some of the 911s are unique.

3 to 5 are rare the other still have dealer plates

its the same when you go to any meet or show, how do you think people felt when the past two years at sema all you saw were frs' with rocket bunny kits? you're gonna see a bunch of the same cars no matter what meet you go to tbh

I've been going on and off for a month now, have seen a few 86's here and there. My car is mostly stock and I feel like I have no business being in the actual show, and I park in the spectator lot. Then I walk around and see these piece of shit hondas etc., and think to myself...why not

What do you have to do to be part of the show? Or is it up to your own discretion?

I go there kinda often. I actually wanted to setup a weekly/bi-weekly meet sometime last year, but when I asked around with no real interested feedbacks from others, I just decided to go solo. lol

I haven't been into one. Maybe i should check it out this saturday

I go almost every week but ive only parked in the exhibitor lot once because there weren't any other twins. People walked up to it and ask for stats and how much it cost and how many tickets I've earned in it

I will be there tomorrow, but I will be leaving my FRS in the spectator lot.

I would, but my car isn't modded enough. Once my suspension is done, I will.

Haven't been there for awhile but the quality in cars is usually good. I here there's a Sunday one somewhere in Sherman Oaks or something.

Saw several of your cars here today. No one was near them so I couldn't say hi. Flashed lights at a blue frs with white wheels when I was leaving. Nice cars, all if them. YDNA and DSOmegaX are especially sweet cars. Maybe next week if I don't have an autocross to go to.

I think everyone was walking around looking for everyone else. By the way maybe next time we could meet up beforehand.

enjoy the shitty camera pics of me and dsomegax. too hard to snap good pictures because of everyone walking by. glad that both of our cars got a lot of love from people considering most of the cars near us were super cars or classic cars.
