Does anyone else not like where they put the antenna?
 

Personally I hate it I am going to take mine off as soon as it gets off the truck. I think it totally destracts from the roof of the car. Anyone else agree?

You make alot of threads when it comes to cosmetics.. lol

But yeah im not exactly sold by it but i can live with it. The model shark fin looks pretty appealing.

Beat Sonic will be here at our launch event to test fit their shark fin antenna. I'll post the results on Friday.

Honestly it was the last thing I noticed when looking at the car. I couldn't care less.

I like the RC look as well. The only one I like a hair more is a small square one that's color matched :) I'm not a shark fin guy.

I have better things in mind to spend my money on

:word: not a priority, but maybe eventually change to a square rather than Shark fin. Cleaner finish.

I have found the shark fin to be more noticeable than the 'RC' Antenna... I never really notice the RC one....

I don't mind it. I more likely going to opt for the shark fin or shave the antenna off (if you know what I mean).

Gah.. In response to this, I'm going to get a 3 foot whip antenna.

I was thinking more along going with two to get that aviation look.

Actually, in all honesty, it will get a CB antenna. But it'll only be on the car for long road trips.

Why did they put that damn thing on the highest point of the car? IMO that makes it stick out that much more. It should have been mounted on one of the rear quarter panels instead.

I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time.

I never noticed the antenna until all the threads on here. Doesn't bother me though, I don't think I care where it goes.

That shark fin thing posted in this thread looks like a tumor. If anything, just get a stubby thread on antenna.

For antenna performance. The roof provides a large ground plane too. The higher you get your antenna off the ground, the better it will perform.

You notice it right away. It does look out of place. :thumbsup:

i like the stock antenna. I'd put the same one in the same spot if I could choose.

I like the stock antenna. As long as it's not one of those old antennas from 80's/90's on the side of the car good.

I put the beat-sonic shark fin and it work great, it doesn't stand out either. The paint matches to the car as well.

80s and 90s? My 02 wrx had a manual retracting whip antenna coming out of the driver side A-pillar. :barf:

whatever happened to antennas integrated into the rear window? my 2000 maxima had no antenna!

Because smaller the antenna, the more uninterrupted it need to be to receive signals... and in the FRS, the radio has so many radio features including HD radio, it needs a solid reception to work well.

How's the reception on your Beat-Sonic thus far?

They found out there was less performance/reception with the window integrated antennae...That and they're more expensive if the window breaks.

At least it's not the old Impreza RC-car style whip antenna. My '87 MR2 has a retractable one on the side of the a-pillar. Easy to manually retract but looks plain stupid when it's extended.
