picking up my new BRZ in a couple hours
Hey guys, I'm picking up my BRZ in a couple hours :D:D
Anything else I need to know thats important to know?? anything I need to look for? Should Iask for any freebies at the dealership? :thanks: |
Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!
Make sure you do a real good inspection before you drive off the lot. Inside and out |
+1 on no drilling for plate
|
Check for scratches and bubbles in the paint.
Check the tire pressure... when I got mine...they were at 30 PSI.. also check to make sure they installed those rubber gromments under the car to prevent water from getting in. Check the fluids and make sure they're at the full mark. |
Tell them not to wash it!!!!!!!

Plus, you really need to see a clean, washed, car to see any damage which occurred at the port, in transit, or when they cleaned and washed it. It's a Catch-22... |
Ask for at least 1 free oil change and a full tank of gas (make sure they put in premium, tell them you want to see the receipt).

I sprinted out of the Finance room to make sure that they don't drilling my fucking bumper. |
make sure they dont drill into the bumper. A full tank of gas should be a given so make sure they do it. As for freebies maybe get a keychain or something.

You should get at least 3 free oil changes. Actually 4 I think. Dont know exactly I only have 1700 miles so far. Is it a 13 or a 14? Where are you purchasing the car from? And as stated above, bring a friend and a flashlight if you are going at night. Oh and make sure the code for the stereo is in the car. If you disconnect the battery for long enough you will need it. Congrats.
|
Don't we all get 2 yr free maintenance plan?

Those rubber gasket things in the glove box, have them make sure its plugged in or install them yourself. Hole is in front of both back wheels at the bottom.

As a matter of fact I bought my car at one dealer, called me local dealer and asked if I can get the free change there. They said no problem. Dealers are sometimes very shady. Hey OP if you get a chance and ask the dealer about this please tell us what they say. |
Yep. My internet sales manager also mentioned it when I first contacted the dealers. Don't remember what he said, but he did say something like it only works in California.

Subaru advertises the car as coming with a 2 year oil change and service for free. Every dealer has to honor this if you press them.
One thing I would do before I leave the dealer is find a service rep that knows these head units (they are in three Subaru models) My dealer (Sewell Subaru of Dallas) set a lot of the internal settings like automatic volume restoration level and also the voice volume on the Navigation is different than the standard volume. A good rep can go through these things and set them to your preference and it gives you a pre-look at acessing the deeper menu items and give you a headstart on how to fine tune it later to our own discretion and you will have an easier time than starting from scratch in the manual and even give you a head start on your own exploration of the inner settings. And if you add on pre-wired Subwoofer kit from Subaru or OEM you need to set the fader to the back just a bit to stop the bass for being overpowering.(Which I had to figure out on my own) Form there you just use the EQ 5 setting to make quick adjustments to music coming from different sources (Sirius/HD Radio/USB mp3 files and such as they all differ somewhat). |
^ My dealer was trying to give me a lesson on all these stuff. I told them to please give me my key so I can drive it asap. :D
After couple days of picking up the car, I played with the navis and other stuff and figured it out. |
My dealer never offered free oil changes. They told me oil changes would cost $100 plus because they were promoting this Krex additive. If I let them do this they would warranty the engine to 200,000 miles.
After a short amount of research, I realized this was a scam. Even if it was free I wouldn't let them do it. I want to choose my own oil and don't want scam additive in my car. |
congrats. hope you got the all seasons

I actually called Subaru North America and they told me there is no such thing. I know shady. You can call my dealership if you want and talk to their service dept to see that it's real.
Ask for Mitch. Subaru Pacific. 424-634-7734 |

Oh and don't hoon it for the first 1000 miles. A couple of near redline pulls will be ok during that time but don't go too crazy. Your engine and clutch will thank you.

Only place such a statement that a BRZ comes with scheduled maintenance would be noted on the sales stick on the car. I purchased a 2014 and it did not state it comes with it.
|
Who drives 200,000? How stupid can one get. Might as well say two million miles.
