how many of us are there......not just driving the twins, but loving them as if they were our babies

i find myself loving this car more than i loved my first one....and that first one is usually a special one ;)

we need to do a girls only frs/brz meet up!

7thgear 01-14-2014 01:02 PM

meets are for hard-parkers

you need to show up to autocross and time-attack events

^^

i know the creator of SGR, this is an awesome organization and i highly recomend any woman to show up to their events (men too)

from what i heard they offer just the right atmosphere of competetive spirit without being SCCA-nationals-leval-crazy.

Yes, Anna is quite awesome. Well stated regarding the right atmosphere.

wparsons 01-16-2014 08:25 AM

Does everyone know Anna?? :D

One of the best things about SGR is that they're their to help and guide with everything about cars/racing/etc. They do tech nights, charity cruises, go karting, winter driving, lapping, etc. Guys are definitely welcome, but their main focus is women.

If you haven't already done so you might want to check out BRZ World (facebook) -

A very active GTA group with girls, weekly meets, drifting, cruises, FRS's, and lots of tracking ! Also go-karting, parties etc.

Weekly meets will start again after the snow, and plans include tail of the dragon cruise in the summer.

Anyone in BRZ World gone FI? Wondering if in the spring I could ride along and feel the POWAHHHH :burnrubber:

KPDoubleX 01-16-2014 05:31 PM

I am down for a girls meet after the snow is gone

Frost 01-16-2014 06:25 PM

Always support it when the opposite sex gets involved with what I love: driving!

But like 7th Gear said, bring it to the autocross! I'll be in my shitbox at PITL this year - still debating whether I want to drive up to Barrie for that series...

My "SHE who must be obeyed" freaked everytime she rode with me cause her HYUNDAI didn't excelerate so quickly and suddenly and corner faster than she goes in a straight line.

The terror shrieking from normal driving almost made me sell her to the gypsies - UNTIL -

I TOOK HER TO THE TRACK ! - ( I went slow - explaining what she had to do ).

THEN - The funniest thing I ever saw - watching her shriek, activate the wipers instead of the paddles etc. for about 4 laps - then she got the hang of it !

She loves the car now !

Except - she will track with me as a passenger but not as a driver -

She gets seasick when I drive (more G's).:confused0068:  .

She wishes it was in Raven, but got Whiteout

Otherwise she loves it, except the passenger seat is too low for her to see much. She's 5'-3"

krayzie 01-17-2014 10:46 AM

I'm 5'10" and I still can't see much out the front. The hoodline is still too high with this car but that's how things are these days.

Sounds like a perfect rally co-driver setup! :)

Kfresh23 01-23-2014 03:04 PM

I burns me to say this...but my wife HATES my car! Just can't stand it!
She hates how low it is to get in and out of...she hates how stiff and bumpy the ride is......she hates the fact that every body tells me how awesome my car is.......she thinks the back seats are ridiculous.......she hate how small the trunk space is.......she hates how "fast" I tend to drive (even though I'm not.....really).......she hates how much fun I say I've had driving home in the snow......but most of all...I think I know why she feels this way......because she can't drive a manual transmission so she does'nt "get it"!! lol
Upside.....I'm the only one ever driving it :)
Downside.....we tend to take her car a lot :(

have you raised the seat up?

i'm 5'11 and i sit on the lowest setting, i could easily raise the seat so that my hair brushes the roofline

That was a funny read. My gf hates how I have to park so far away

Nah I have to sit at the lowest position so I can have a fist gap between my thigh and the steering wheel bottom. After driving German for many years the hoodline on this car ain't toooo bad. Nothing can touch a late 80's Honda forward visibility tho! :D

IMO proper driving position means you should not be able to see the hood at all, it should be as much road as possible -> hoodline -> dash, with the steering wheel coming towards you as close as possible without being uncomfortable.

Kazuya 01-23-2014 06:05 PM

Everytime I go out, my gf and I fight to bring either the frs or her evoque. I hate her car, too high, feels like a boat and she hates my car, too low and crappy suspension.

I'm hoping to bring her to car meets so she would lighten up about my hobby. Hehe

You can always adjust the steering wheel.. one of the best for adjust-ability in a car I've been in.

canada girls

I would be down for a girls meet for sure!

My husband and I downsized to one car and got our FRS in June 2012. I decided I didn't like to share (lol) and we got our second one this past July. Amusingly enough the FRS was the only car we could agree on!

PMPB 01-24-2014 12:05 AM

Even my wifes TSX feels like driving a truck after getting used to the BRZ. I don't find getting in and out to be a problem anymore, but I sometime kick the steering wheel when I get out.

She LOVES my car though, she likes when I accelerate hard and row through the gears, the occasional tail hanging out... She never practices driving MT though, so I don't let her take it without me, and she doesn't feel comfortable enough to drive it if we're going somewhere... Meh. More for me.

BRZZZZZZZZZZ 01-24-2014 09:40 AM

I wish my girlfriend had interest in Auto X and lapping, but she drives a Jeep and likes to get stuck in various things (snow, ice, mud). At least I taught her to drive manual on my 135i so I can maybe persuade her to drive my BRZ sometime.

WOW - almost identical situation for me and my wife... except that I am happy she hates MY car ;), it is parked for the winter and it is an auto so she could drive it in an emergency (I am diabetic).

We do end up taking the Yaris around town together - but I get to take the FR-S alone the other 90% of the time :)

Sigh On 01-27-2014 10:33 PM

..Meanwhile, back in Toronto, a self proclaimed "car guy" , young, successful, single male decides to buy a FRS for the simple pleasure that its an FRS. Its summer of 2013...He dates, looking for "the one"...Its not the intake he hears, nor is it the TRD exhaust, its not the darkness that falls in the cabin due to the dark tinted windows.....His ears are filled with the sweet sounds of....

"Wow, nice car!"
"What is a Sky-on?"
"What does FRS stand for?"
"What are you 20???!!!!!"
"Wow, its soooo low"
"Oh these seats are comfortable"
"Is that your car?"
"Why are you parking so far away"
"Could you park any farther away from the entrance?"

..and my favourite

"Can I drive it?"

Had to quote these......too funny.

My wife loves my car, and I think secretly enjoys speeding around curves even though she screams "slow down or you'll lose your license" haha.
