New Z06--truly Mega
|
i would get that.....................if i weren't poor.
|
Still just another Corvette... :barf:
|
Heck yeah. You do have to think though, with 620hp/650tq and ~3300 lbs, how much further can you go with a RWD chassis? If the p/w ratio keeps rising, I wonder if Chevy will need to start thinking AWD.
|
Have yet to see it in person but from the videos ive seen...the rear end looks fucked up.
Though i wouldnt mind owning one. |
I love this fucking car. Gonna have to wait till there are used ones around though. Definitely not something I'd buy new. I really love what GM has been doing lately. But I still traded my Camaro for my BRZ. ;)

Figure once I saw another it may help but my overall impression was good. |
I like that front lip.

Honestly, this is the only Corvette I've ever considered getting. A lot of people hate this new rear-end but I think it's fantastic. The C6 to me was kind of stale, and this is perfect.
Definitely at the top of my "next-car" list. |

Disgustingly sexy
|
Damn maybe when the C10 is out I will pick one of these up
|
Well if people buy this up then we could could see a Zl1 or a next gen version.. I like the way the lip extends to the fenders for a wider look

I'm sad it isn't N/A. Yes, supercharged is better than a turbo, but I still think the Z06 should be naturally aspirated. Leave the crazy power on forced induction to the ZR1.
|
why wont these bastards make a RHD version!

i still can't get over the tail lights. they look cool on the camaro, not with the vette.
|
First thing that jumps at me is..what a busy design, there's not a square foot except the door panels that isn't busy with a line or vent or something else.
It looks good, but overdone. As for the performance, well it's a corvette, always been fast lol. |

It'll be awhile, though... |
Yup, I'll own one of these...
...in several years when they cost half of the original price. Funny I see this thread now. I just got back from the SC Auto Show not too long ago and was lusting after the Stingray they had there. |

(I think if I ever own a Corvette, it'll probably be a C6 Z06, based on this). |

C6 Z06: ~3150lb, 505hp C7 Stingray: ~3450lb, 460hp (I'm talking naturally aspirated cars here, not supercharged. I know the new Z06 is faster than the old one, but as it stands right now, the old Z06 is the fastest naturally aspirated corvette) |

The way I see Corvettes is that the engines have too much low end grunt. If I were to get a Corvette, I'd just toss a custom ground cam into a base Vette for ~2000 bucks and that would bump the power up by 100hp easily. Since it already spins tires without even trying I think the loss of low end torque shouldn't be a big deal. The LT1 makes a suspiciously large amount of power, so there may not be as much room to increase the power but I feel like you should be able to get it up to 550hp with bolt ons. |

We own a c6 z06 in the family and IMHO it looks like a proper vette. The c7 ( and the 7 z06) are amazing but lack the vette styling on the rear |

I wonder how this car does against the GTR nismo. Sorry but someone had to say it...

The 3440 lb. curb weights we've seen for the C7 have been with the Z51 option, which reportedly adds 50-100 lb. C7 Z51 is the same weight as the most similar version of the outgoing C6, the Grand Sport. Still, it was *supposed* to be lighter-weight :( |
I saw a C7 on the road today in Atlanta. Looks fantastic! I still like the look of the C6 exterior better, though. It's cleaner and less gimmicky looking. Interior is a different story... C6 interior just looks cheap and dull. And that Malibu steering wheel, ewwww...
|
What a beast. There's no denying it is powerful and fast. The thing that stands out to me the most with Corvettes is how they leap forward with every new generation. Where some cars evolve gently, the new Corvette is always packed with design and hardware specs that make the old one look dated.
That said, I still have love for the C6 and I bet they are going to become incredible values on the used market. |

Ive seen a couple and sat in one. The interior is amazing. I had viper c7 and a zr1 in the same garage. Hell even the zr1 felt way better than the viper (new one) which id pick over both though it would break down soo quick  . I feel that the c7 is a very well built car but the rear screams camaro so so much :'( Sent from my IBrick |
IF I win the lotto, the C7 is definitely part of the stable but only IF I get lessons from Randy Pobst.

Yeah my bad I meant the ZR1. But the Z06 specs are impressive and I can't wait to watch videos of it on youtube when it comes out. |
