Vortech Supercharger Kit from Chase Bays FR-S

SOLD!

Vortech Supercharger Tuner Kit - $3200 SHIPPED

Includes EVERYTHING it came with the kit originally plus their higher boost pulley that is already installed on the supercharger unit.

Our car made 290whp with this kit installed. I've put around 6000 miles total on the kit. The car never skipped a beat and the power felt great. I've driven it on the track, I've driven it across the country(Speedhunters Feature: Chase Bays FR-S) with no issues.

The reason we're doing this is because a different motor is going in the car :burnrubber:

Yes the following picture shows the supercharger with #nofilter but it was only for a prettier photo, the filter was always used on the car.

is the engine functional in that pic beside the filter? There is no way, but it looks amazing!

protpibe 01-07-2014 05:16 PM

From what I saw in their build thread, all of the wiring etc has been tucked. I'm pretty sure they sell a tuck kit for the twins :) Bump for a crazy good deal

rhythmM 01-07-2014 05:32 PM

If I had the money.... I'd buy it for sure >_<

100% functional. We drove it across the country, on the track, everywhere! Thank you!

I want this kit every time I see one come up for sale.... But alas.... No one offers superchargers on layaway...lol

What motor will we be seeing swapped in your car?

ReThink 01-08-2014 01:26 AM

What would it cost to have an engine bay tucked like that? That's super clean!!

86TruenoFRS 01-08-2014 01:58 PM

i smell 2jz swap....lol or LSX

bakerr6 01-08-2014 06:01 PM

I love the wire tuck. GLWS

I will probably do the same in 5-6 years when the engine comes out for a new one

Chen 01-08-2014 09:36 PM

Hmmm... Maybe after tax refunds start to kick in

We've had a decent amount of people requesting the wiring harness, brake lines, and fuel lines. It was on the back burner since most people are down with hacking into the car just yet. What do you guys think about a 10qty group buy for each?

I would do it depending on price!

pche 01-11-2014 11:57 AM

R2RO 01-11-2014 07:35 PM

Will the harness be made with battery relocation in mind? Either way... I'm kind of excited. :D

Our harnesses work for both, but we always recommend battery relocation.

What sort of price range is a harness like that worth?

I still haven't opened the other box to see how bad the intercooler and plumbing looks...
so much for a good deal.

crazyfrenchbiker 01-23-2014 07:50 PM

Looks like the oil leaked during shipping from being turned all upside down and around as UPS is known to do.

Shit Luck 01-23-2014 07:54 PM

oil I get.
destroyed pulley, bent brackets, trashed intake lid.... I am not happy at all. I could have bought new if I knew it was gonna show up all fucked up.

Jouki 01-23-2014 07:55 PM

Looks like shit luck if you ask me

I don't see a picture of the intake lid on the original posting. did you ask the seller to see more detailed pictures of what you were purchasing when they were already taken off the vehicle and ready for shipping? If you did not get more pictures from the OP then you bought a very expensive supercharger blindly, additionally no one should have to point out that it is sold used so there is no warranty or return support as buying from manufacture or authorized retail.

if you buy from a company a brand new item and it is delivered to you as non operational, then it is defective, and in most cases it carries a warranty in which you could send the item back to the company for a replacement free of charge. it appears you bought from a private seller that is not a authorized vendor here a used item.

When someone posts that their kit has only 6k miles, and "hasn't skipped a beat," you would think that they are inferring that the kit is in great condition.

back to my original question.. did you get pictures? there are shady dealers and scam artists all over the internet, I am hoping you were a smart enough buyer to get more pictures from the seller to hold the shipping company accountable for damages. other wise, yes tough shit, err shit luck in your case.

Good thing they are well known and should have good customer service then, or else their reputation is at stake. https://www.chasebays.com

especially from a vendor on the site..

Before you purchased this supercharger, did you ask for detailed photos from Chase Bays? If so, is the condition between the photos you received before purchasing and the condition of the kit after arrival significantly different?

I'm asking you this because you did in fact purchase a USED supercharger kit and, in my opinion, it is solely and completely up to the buyer to check the condition of the merchandise before throw down the cash for it.
