Car enthusiast Ryan Lee transformed his Toyota 86 into Lightning McQueen for his 3 year-old son Lucas, who adores the lead character of the Cars franchise from Pixar. Ryan first saw pictures on the Internet of cars with Lightning McQueen livery, he then thought to himself that he has a red 86, and it might look good as a McQueen car.

“I actually thought my son would feel really cool if he rode Lightning McQueen to school,” said Lee.

The McQueen 86 project took shape when he shared the idea to Leo and Chris, his partners at Speedworks Engineering; because they like to bring smiles to people’s faces with cars. They then had the decals made by their friends at Synwerx Graphics to be an early Christmas surprise for little Lucas.

“My son was so happy when he saw the car. But since he just woke up that time we showed it to him, the real excitement came days after where actually run around the car himself with a really big smile on his face,” said Lee.

The Speedworks McQueen 86, doesn’t just look like ‘Lightning’ but also packs the ‘ka-chow’ inside with several modifications such as turbo and ECU mods resulting in over 300 hp to the rear wheels.

Hats off to you Mr. Ryan Lee you are an awesome dad with some very awesome friends too! Lucas is one lucky luke!

I have two thoughts on this. Number one, it reminds me that I wanted to pick up a pair of googly eyes to put on the front of my car. Number two, awesome dad. Number three, "Daddy why is he dead, he doesn't talk?" That was three thoughts not two, I'm not good at thoughts.

That's really cute lol!

I would totally do something like that if I had a kid. This is along the lines of dressing up as Batman or something for your kids birthday. I love it!

Seen that car on the Philippine Facebook group and all I can say is that I give a lot of respect to the father for doing that for his kid. Judging a book by its cover is never good. Specially if this book can end up kicking your ass.

Needs a drop.

With the roads back home in the Philippines, if it were my car I'd drop it by .5"

That car is owned by Speedworks Engineering. They do most of the Ecutek tunes here in Manila. It recently made 450whp! So it has the "Ka-chow" to match its looks! Haha.
