@ecko04 thanks for starting this thread!!
I love the look and price of this headlight, but am on the fence because I still can't find out where they are actually manufactured. Also, look forward to the members who have these headlights on their car to review them after several months of ownership...want to know how they hold up! |
Anyone thought about painting the chrome versions like the JDM/EDM?

@ApolloSki Thanks for the info! I had heard the same a while back but couldn't confirm it. I guess we will play the waiting game and see how they hold up.

Updated my post - I posted to get the photos going. Plus I was not sure if everyone saw the other thread. |
After looking at the JDM headlights more I can totally paint the chrome versions...now to get some.
I think the black is just to much black. Anyone else think so too? |

Personal preference I suppose but I think it is about right at least on a SWP car that is.. :) |

Winjet JDM look-a-like headlights for the Scion FRS have been hot since SEMA, but not a lot to talk about until we got our hands on them here at the shop. So in classic SpeedFactory fashion we got sets in and did our best to show you how they work, and can now answer any question you got on them. They come with a halogen bulb already installed and ready for you to bolt in and go. They will fit a HID kit like one from Diode Dynamics which we test fit with the Winjet Headlights here in the shop. Lets start off with some photos. We choose to go with the black housing for this. We got Chrome ones in too but only so many hours in a day. Video is uploading now.... will add it later tonight once the upload completes. Hit our youtube page to see it as soon as the upload finishes. |
So what is your hi-beam if you don't lose your hi-beam function? Do the DRLs turn on to full power? Does the bulb go to a higher intensity? Is there a cut-off that is pushed down?

Before I said - I wanted to Confirm - Yes China |
@fteightysix Thank you! I'm trying to keep a JDM OEM+ theme on the car, but this is making it difficult. Will keep an eye on how the hold up over time or see if more options become available from the JDM market.

I don't suppose anyone has the black ones installed on a hot lava, do they?

right place at the right time. i nabbed mine used for as much as it'd cost for a pair of winjets modified with a true hid retrofit. |
Personally I think these look a lot better then 10series and gt86 ones anyhow. Excited to get my set after New Years. :)
|
I'm just glad to see there are headlamp options now. As far as what looks better than what...that's personal preference.
|
Any shots of the black ones on a dark (asphalt or raven) car yet?
|
Just installed a set on a customer's car. Very good fitment and simple install. We did not run into any issues

Can somebody park the car facing a wall and take a photo of the beam cutoff? I'd like to see how sharp it is and what color the cutoff is

Hope this helps - This is with the Morimoto HID http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...ps69709abe.jpg |
Nothing like a halogen projector cutoff....looks good for HID

This photo of chrome on Hot Lava has me thinking that black is the way to go. I think these headlights, TOM's tails with clear lenses, and a TapTurn module will be my spring project (too much rain here now). |
