Would you put a FR-S bumper on a BRZ?

Would you do it? Has anyone tried it? Please point towards a thread if it exists.

M-17 12-20-2013 02:22 PM

I don't understand why would you want to do that? Wouldn't it be easier to just get an FRS insead?

Anyway, it has been done to prove it could be done. If I find the thread or picture of it I'll pass it along here.

kALMIGHTY 12-20-2013 02:33 PM

Not necessarily but I have always wondered what an FR-S with its more aggressive bumper would look like if it was painted in WRB. Not sure if the FR-S front end could pull it off.

Probably the closest thing we're gong to see until someone actually does it.

Scoobybrz 12-20-2013 02:49 PM

Yes, only because it has more front lip options.

Yeah for some reason, I don't like the colour on this bumper as much as I do on the BRZ bumper. If I had a WRB BRZ, I wouldn't switch bumpers.

If you got man boobs the bras are interchangeable.

gt8613 12-20-2013 04:25 PM

Brz can be bought for cheaper from. Clint.

I'd do it and then paint the car Hot Lava. Toyota badging and fender vents and I'd call it good. I contemplated a Hot Lava FR-S and even test drove one the day before I got my BRZ. I just didn't like the interior on the FR-S enough to buy the car. Maybe some day, but for now I love my Satin White Pearl BRZ...

VesperLynn 12-21-2013 05:24 AM

There's a guy here on the forum that did it I'm pretty sure...

That or he just put subaru badges on, I can't remember unfortunately. :iono:

This is a BRZ:

http://www.7tune.com/feature-the-bee...ket-bunny-brz/

and for the record, yeah, I'd do it. I mean, why would a 180SX owner ever put a Silvia front on their car?

Because they can't get or afford a Silvia. Especially If said person lives in the states. But here the frs is cheaper so it seems dumb to buy a brz and then change it to an frs front.

dude, that went so far over your head. SO. DAMN. FAR.

I'm at a total loss for what to use as a witty comment to make fun of you

gily25 12-21-2013 10:58 AM

If you're going to all that trouble look for an aftermarket bumper that you like. Maybe room for future intake, intercooler, etc.

utekineir 12-21-2013 11:14 AM

If you think the status on a mid 20k car is any different than the status of a high 20k car you're fucking nuts

PLEASE.DO.CLARIFY. :iono:

All I am saying it that changing the 180sx front end to a Silvia front end is not the same as the BRZ to FRS bumper change... Being that the Silvia front end is not readily available in the states.

It would seem to me since they are essentially the same car that it would make more sense to buy the FRS if you like the look better. Then with the extra money you save add whatever options you wanted from the BRZ. You would also have the option to get better aftermarket variants.

If that was directed towards me then no I don't. Personally I don't think there is really a so called status to be had with a 20k car...

suaveflooder 12-21-2013 05:00 PM

The FRS bumper looks better IMHO. The "extras" that the BRZ comes with would be the reason people would buy it and swap to an FRS front end. Also, as retarded as the whole thing is, a lot of BRZ guys would "never own a scion" lol

Fett4Real 12-21-2013 06:48 PM

To run the rocket bunny kit you need to have the Toyota bumper

No you don't. See my car as an example:

AVodka14 12-22-2013 07:35 PM

If you like the FRS bumper better than your current bumper...do it. I like the BRZ headlights and will eventually put them on my FRS. See no problem with interchanging parts if that is what you prefer. That's the fun of modding/tuning/differentiating.

suaveflooder 12-22-2013 07:37 PM

That looks AWESOME, @VesperLynn

Not to be rude but it doesnt fit your bumper right...its cut for the FRS/GT86 front lights

It fits the lines of the BRZ bumper. Sure it doesn't extend all the way down to the LED and Foglamp area but the kit is meant to look tacked on by rivets anyway.

That's the point.

s0sl0w 12-23-2013 10:24 PM

Which is why RB kits suck.

infact

That's because BRZ owners wouldn't want to be associated with people that have an inferiority complex like most FR-S owners do!:bellyroll:

LOLZ...just playin' holmes:D

Seriously though, I would've bought a Monogram Series if it was available and cheaper than the BRZ Limited because the main reason for choosing the Limited is strictly for the leather/alcantara seats. Sure, I like the bumper of the BRZ more, but I wouldn't throw the FR-S out of bed for eating crackers. Both are beautiful in their own way.

I wouldn't, I prefer the BRZ bumper, only 2nd to the BRZ concept car's front end. I do like the wider variety of lips for the FRS's front end.

No one said anything about changing it in the states.

It was about owners of a RPS13 (180SX) changing their front end to one off a PS13 (Silvia). It is a direct bolt-on looks-wise, except headlights had to be rewired.

I love the way that the BRZ looks and I couldn't imagine trying to make the front bumper look like the FRS. It has been done but fitment will not be perfect. If you are a perfectionist that swap will drive you nuts.

Good luck.

TylerLieberman 12-24-2013 08:56 PM

I'd put an frs bumper on a brz. I don't see what the big deal is. It's just a bumper swap and some wiring.

The OEM bumpers look better than 99% of the aftermarket bumpers out there.

The brz bumper has grown on me. If I got some headlights that utilized turn signals, I would consider going to a brz bumper

YOUR CAR LOOKS BEAUTIFUL!!! :clap::clap::clap:

How much did the widebody kit cost for installation? (cutting and everything)
