Are turbos preference?

I'm trying to make sure Greddy isn't a bad choice when it comes to getting a turbo. Are there better? Is there a cheaper one that works just as well? (cheaper one means I'd probably be buying an intake with it, though becuase greddy comes with one)

Turbos are preference. No question about it.

7thgear 12-17-2013 05:20 PM

this preference thread needs a preface

what prefecture did you say you were from?

Just go with the FBM base or Premium kit. Can't go wrong with the turbo selection on those. Heard alot of good things from their kids.

In a market as heavily saturated as the one for our cars (plenty of competition), you usually get what you pay for.

jamesm 12-17-2013 10:35 PM

it is certainly my preference to own a turbo. that is for sure.

First time I've heard that phrase but it's true. It's amazing how much is available in less than 2 years.. I love it.

I love how Superchargers work and how they retain throttle response but after
seeing all the belt issues they have it makes me not want them.
which is why I would go turbo.

I've only seen one guy with an innovate kit and issues with belts. Anyway I'd check avo for price and p&l, full blown, and ptuning fora higher end system. Fa20club is cheap too but seems to have long shipping delays. Me? Probably an innovate kit with carb.

Belt problems, although I know not exactly of what you speak of when it come to super charging. Much of that can be remedied with higher quality specialty built belts.

I just wonder if folks would have issue with Carbon Fiber belt. But like someone else on here said you usually get what you pay for. I wouldn't be surprised in ever seeing a Carbon Fiber belt built in life and death situations clarion hundreds of dollars. But there has to be a happy median somewhere.

There is more than enough info to search here. Google is your friend too.

I haven't had any problems with my AVO kit, throttle response is similar to NA. :p

I think you will find peoples preference to be different depending on their... preference.

I don't think you can lose going either way
