National BackOrder for Seat Belt Assembly

So, along with all the other people at some point on here. I'M NEW. And here's my story. 11 Days after buying my Scion FR-S 10 Series I was involve in a CRASH. A small bump, from another driver, on my back left lead to me spinning out of control and curbing my beautiful 86. A whole new rear suspension had to be put in along with new mags and wheels. Also the Driver Side Airbag curtain deployed. After 2 weeks the car is now fixed and ready to be driven! But...missing a Seat Belt/Seat Belt Assemble, the Toyota/Scion/Lexus collision center told me the Seat Belt Assembly is on a National Back Order. So tomorrow (December 10th) will be the 4th week without a car. Any ideas on what I should do? Anyone to call to get a possible ETA? NATIONAL BACKORDER!!! Having tons of awesome mods sitting in front of me and can't even put these bad boys on! Its Painful!

Get a harness bar and harness! Maybe someone who is parting out their baby has it.

Savannah GA? I spent 3 months there this year and didn't see any FRS except for the guy that lived down the street from me in Pooler. Have you met any other owners?

I thought about that but my seat belt is white...cause of the 10 Series edition, so I guess I'll just wait. And unfortunately not. I haven't seen any other FR-S drivers around. Im really interested in a car scene too, but no luck here in Savannah.

Top of the rock! Lol

Was stationed at HAAF for 3 years. I miss Savannah.

Isn't the seatbelt silver?

I got into a rear end collision in July 2012 and it took 8 weeks for parts to arrive because there were none in the US. Really sucks but the shop said it is pretty common for new cars. They had a Dodge Caravan they waited for months for a seat belt assembly. Hope it gets back to you soon.

You might be able to find one at a wrecking yard to tide you over....:iono:

DAMN! Looks like I won't be driving anywhere for Christmas/New Years. Guess I'll just keep sitting it out. Thanks

They didn't get you a loaner while being out of your car ?

Unfortunately not. I can't even rent a car because I'm only 20.

Thats lame, when my 2011 WRX was in the shop they let me drive around a loaner even though I was only 21-22 at the time

bestwheelbase 12-12-2013 12:15 PM

Savannah rocks. I have family down there.

Even if you're underage to rent a car, seems like the dealer should still give you a loaner. Fortunately, depending on where you live, you can get around pretty well on foot & bus.

Unless something is seriously damaged it will drive like before

Danklvr 12-12-2013 12:57 PM

if the dealer has your car for a month, you can request that they make a month's payment for you, or remove a month's payment from your loan.. my fr-s has been in dealer for 3 weeks waiting on a part, and i got loaner and 1 month's payment made for me..

and you sir, may have just saved me 200 Bucks! I called the collision center just a few minutes ago, word is, "Its suppose to be here tomorrow." I just don't see it tho, but we'll see...also asked about that monthly payment, the guy said the manager wasn't in but she'll talk to me when I go to pick it up.

If I knew how to post a picture on here I'd show the HEART Breaking photo of my FRS on the curb.:brokenheart:

Figured it out, but, the intersection in the background is where it all began. The turning lane has 2 lanes, with the right lane about 5 feet in front of the left lane..as the light turned green and I began my left hand turn, I see the other driver in the left side mirror continuing to go forward, if I sped up a little I probably could've avoided him. But anyways, I feel the slight bump on my back left wheel and the fun fishtailing began, (me never driven a RWD car before, didn't know how to counteract the maneuver.) lost control and did a 360 avoiding two other lanes of traffic curbed up...HARD..so I guess I kinda got "Pit-Manuevered-ish?" Oh this isn't even the good part, the prick drove off..So I'm sure he had no insurance..So this game is far from over..

"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money(Because you hit me). But what I do have are a very particular set of skills(Writing down your license plate); skills I have acquired over a very long career(of being in school; Reading, Writing, Arithmetic). Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you(Education is Power). If you (don't turn yourself in), that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill (MAKE YOU PAY ME $6,000+ in the COURT of LAW) you."

bestwheelbase 12-12-2013 07:14 PM

Glad you're alright!

Can't quite understand what happened but it sounds terrifying. Two dedicated left turn lanes, you were in right lane, other driver runs wide and bonks your driver side rear corner? If so, I am surprised there is not more damage to that corner of your car.

Surprised the crash ended so far away from the intersection too. What kind of car hit you? Any witnesses stop to help?

Yeah, I actually got bumped at the very end of that intersection..then started a sideways slide for awhile. I was hit by a early 2000 Honda Accord. No one stopped---Southern Hospital my butt. I'm just happy ther was no major body damage to the FRS. But the whole rear suspension was a good as gone. Most importantly I'm OK, no damage was done to me. Other than my soul.

Status Report!
The car is done. And I just picked it up tonight...sooo far , it's driving well. I guess it took 7-8 Weeks to get it 100% in. Now, let the mods flourish.

My $0.02 but I would pursue getting that person that hit you...

My wife was hit by an 18 wheeled Semi and that prick didn't stop... You are lucky enough to have the license plate...

Glad your car is repaired though... I was so tempted to buy a 10series, but want to wait for the fantasy "monogram" edition...

You're a lot harder to repair than the car! Glad you made it out ok! She'll be as good as new when you get it back! :party0030:

That sucks about the car and the wait.

As a side note, I was stationed in Wuerzburg, Germany when 3d ID was HQ'd there with the 103d MI BN, and was present when we folded the colors and reflagged to 1st ID in 1996. I ETS'd a few months later.
