I was about to go eat, thanks a lot..
|
Well that fucked my day up. I also am a pu$$y when it comes to spiders
|
Haha. That's a bit funny. That's where I live!!!
Thankfully all the spiders disappeared again once the flood water receded. I'd still much prefer these than the black widow type spiders we also get (red backs) and the snakes. |
Interesting. Thought the one going to town on the bird creeps me out.

Glad we only have garter snakes here in Western Washington. |
I like the litte snakes we have here, even boas are cool but fuck all of the spiders!
Although surprisingly, as long as the venom has been taken out, tarantulas don't freak me out too much. |
Yeah... Spiders are one those things that freak me out for some damn reason. Actually most insects will creep me out. Anything else I can brave out or at least stay calm about.
Oh and thanks for that post @SoCal909. :scared0016: |

I think that shift knob is pretty cool. Although I did have a thought, it could end up cock-blocking you if you pick up a girl at a bar that is scared of spiders. If she's scared enough, she would not ride in that car, lol.

Yeah, we get some shocking spiders down here. I particularly don't like that redback gear knob. Those things suck...The only good thing about them is that they tend to stay in the one spot (generally dark and in a corner, or under the toilet seat in the old style outdoor dunnies) which makes it easy to crack out the thong and let them have it.
We also get white tail spiders which suck more as they are nomads and wander about the place. Not nice at all to find one in your bed....They also don't survive the thong of death. http://www.bencruachan.org/blog/crea...white-tail.jpg Redback and White tails are pretty much the only spiders I will kill. Sydney gets the funnel web spiders but they don't make their way down here unless they have hitched a ride on a truck or in freight. http://competitivepestcontrol.com.au...ider_465px.jpg Spiders and snakes are a fact of life here and I'm not really afraid of them. Just aware. I was engaged to an American girl who told me how they used to play with these little snakes in North Carolina and that they were harmless. Basically we don't play with any snakes here as they will mess you up. Sure, the pythons are not venomous but we don't see them much. We mostly get the Brown, the Red Bellied Black and the Tiger snakes around where I live. And they are all very aggressive and poisonous. And I don't think the thong trick would work too well. Just makes them angry. lol This was posted recently from Aus. Red bellied black snake on a car. Has some bad language. :-) [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oA4pjBN0uA"]Snake on Windshield Wipers Freakout in Australia - YouTube[/ame] |

Straya C$#T! Problem with Funnel Web Spiders is that they are aggressive and can chase you if agitated enough. They also make a habit of living in shoes and boots so you don't leave those outside |
OH JESUS WHY DID I OPEN THIS THREAD

Brown Recluse

They seem to have adapted to the winters by hiding under the barks of trees. About 3 years ago buddy of mine was at a back yard barbeque in the city and was bit by one. He almost lost his leg. What saved him was the fact that the hospital had a smart doctor and the appropriate ant-venom, and that he is a huge guy almost 8 ft. tall (We call him Shrek). Shrek still limps today. |
Another spider story -
Another buddy and his wife spend their summer holidays cruising the thousand islands in their sail boat. One summer they finished their cruise and went to the marina parking lot to load their car.
They found the interior infested with webs and thousands of spiders. Needless to say they spent the night in the boat as the exterminators bombed the car. After cleaning and loading the car, on the way home from Kingston, they had to pull over on the 401 because of thousands of hatchling spiders coming out of vents etc. The little buggers never went away even after several treatments. He was lucky and managed to sell the car - |
