Dings....

How many dings do you have on your ride?

I had my for a month and its like a ding magnet!

RojerLockless 12-05-2013 02:21 PM

This is the most unlucky black car I've ever owned. Already full of scratches... and my last two rides *350z and a Porsche Boxster S* were both black..

No dings yet but seriously.. This car is unlucky as hell.

Muskokan 12-05-2013 02:26 PM

1 scratch 2" long just to the left of my front emblem. 1 rock chip just above drivers light. 2 on bottom lip. 1 weird spec on my trunk I can't get off.

But who's counting.

I just make sure to park far away from everyone when I'm at work, and make sure to keep distance while driving. No scratches or dings after over a year with the car.

ZVsFR-S 12-05-2013 02:53 PM

2 minor scratches and a freaking rock chip at the passenger corner my windshield that I get sad everytime I look at it

I really adjusted my following distance after getting this car. I don't want any nicks on the hood like I had on my Golf.

I park far far away parkland.. lol

civicdrivr 12-05-2013 03:54 PM

5.

Two on each front fender edge (Im assuming from chassis flex).
One on the roof from when I removed the Beatsonic sharkfin.
Two on each door below the door handle, from a shop opening the doors into the lift posts. :mad0260:

At risk of jinxing myself, no dings after 10 months.
But then again. I will not park in a plaza, mall, or anywhere else where the risks are high. Also, I seek out end parking spaces, and four door cars as their doors don't open as far. Paranoid for sure!

Ryuu0u 12-05-2013 05:04 PM

I had a couple on my hood and front. I was recently in an accident where a guy turned in front of me and he pretty much ripped my front bumper off. No frame damage and she's all fixed up so i'm back to 0 dings again

sprintertrueno86 12-05-2013 05:50 PM

1 door ding in right rear fender
Scraped the bottom of my front bumper (not noticeable)
Few chips and scratches here n there.

DarkSunrise 12-05-2013 05:57 PM

Yeah I think parking far away helps. I do that and have no dings *knock on wood*.

This thread hurts... I have a SHIT ton because I got hit with hail while I was at work this year :( haven't got a chance or the cash to take it in through my insurance.

Oh, NONE of my other cars have the number of dings or scratches that this car has... and it's the BRAND NEW CAR!!! My 88 Starquest has less dings...

StilesA70 12-05-2013 08:41 PM

I got a door ding within the first week I had mine. Other than that 1 rock chip in the bumper and a windsheild chip. I have had mine almost a year now

humfrz 12-06-2013 12:18 AM

I have three dings, one done by me, one by my wife, one done by a granddaughter ...... all done while the car was in our garage .... so, no one to be mad at .... http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gra...ages/smile.gif

I've given up on fussing about shit like this. Driver door has a big ding on it (the dent itself, I probably won't fix), door also has paint scratches on it from the cloud of gravel that caused said ding. The bumper has a few scratches here and there from who knows what. I've scraped exiting parking lots on the sides of hills, exiting driveways, etc. I had a scratch on my bumper from an apartment contractor who backed into the car, but I was rear-ended a month later and, well, the bumper is brand new. The trunk lid has a scratch from where the police officer set his clipboard down on it. And of course the paint has swirls (yay black paint) from the dealer cleaning the car before I got it.

No point in fussing over the details. It's not a showroom car, and as long as the two little humps over the wheels look good, that's all I care about behind the wheel. The car is much more fun driving it than standing outside of it and staring at it. Granted, I am getting the paint fixed on the door - the dent isn't bad, but really scratched up paint *does* look pretty bad. But the little things aren't something to really worry over.

cwb48 12-06-2013 10:34 AM

Several scrapes on the underside of the front plastic- I just can't seem to stop short of high curbs.

One tiny paint chip on the rim of the fuel filler hatch- I did that one myself too, but a little touch up paint made it invisible.

A fairly large stone hit the hood on one of my trips to West Virginia. It hit the plastic film and damaged it, and there is a slight ding (aluminium hood dents rather easily). There may not be any paint damage because of the film.

C'est la vie. Car is just over one year old, 7,600 miles or so.

imanedrn 12-30-2013 04:34 AM

I washed it today and noticed little a few little chips on the front bumper. Only have about 1,500 miles. I think I notice it more than I did on past cars because I like this one so much more.
