Bluetooth problem
I purchased 14 BRZ about 2 months ago and I have problem with connecting bluetooth.
I am using Galaxy S4 model and it keeps dropping from the car. So, I have to reconnect every time... Anyone having same problem? |
Sorry I have S4 also but no issues.

I get the same problem. It connects then disconnects. But only happens sometimes.

Yeah, this is a known problem and it does not appear to have a fix. Yet. See this thread :

I have a Galaxy S3 and I have problems with it. Mine always disconnects about 2 minutes or so after I start the car, sometimes it continues to disconnect a few more times after that. Once I've been driving 5+ minutes or so, it seems to work fine.
If I turn the car off and on in a short time span, such as every time I buy gas, it seems to disconnect more often. Pain in the ass. |
I have an S4 and it would crash the bluetooth radio on my phone when connected to both music audio and call audio/info. It works great when connected to ONLY music audio. So right now I have my phone set to only connect to music and not the phone call since I primarily stream Pandora through the car.
I read that someone managed to get it working consistently when turning on the phone's bluetooth after the car was on. Going to give that a shot and see how it goes. I second the theory that when the phone switches to a low power mode (a part of bluetooth 4.0) that the car loses the connection, and subsequently crashes the bluetooth radio on the S4. My thoughts at least... |
On my HTC One I can toggle / reset bluetooth and it usually clears up issues.
|
I made this thread...its in my sig. I kinda wanted all of this stuff in one place so people could look up how to get their particular phone working with the oem headunit.

My phone has never dropped the bluetooth so I'm glad I don't have this problem as it can be annoying.

have the same problem frustrates the shit out of me especially while i'm on the phone and the bluetooth disconnects

I have an s3, same issue. I just toggle between FM and Bluetooth on the radio (too lazy to dig phone out of pocket). It resets the connection and works fine but it's annoying I have to do this in a 2013 with 3500 miles on it. Not sure if this was Subaru half-assing it or Samsung however. As my wifi connectivity can be a pain in the ass on this phone too.

Note 3, same issue.
If I have the phone bluetooth on before I start the car, it will disconnect. If I have the car on and then turn the phone bluetooth on (or toggle it on the phone), it works like a dream. Only issue is sometimes it won't show any of my contacts. I don't really talk on the phone while driving, so no big deal. |
I had an S2 and had the same issues. I hated going into my phone to reconnect the bluetooth. I have an iPhone now without problems, but that phone is causing stereo connectivity issues.

No problem here with my iP5s in my '14

Have the same problem with my LG G2. Worked fine for a few months and then randomly started happening. Even rooted and upgraded to KitKat using a custom ROM hoping for a fix and it's still happening. I also had bluetooth issues with my previous Galaxy Nexus though not quite the same as this one. I think the bluetooth on the head unit just sucks.
