Got mine done at Carbox in Thornhill, pretty good job and easy to work with. The guy who does the tinting seems to be quite knowledgeable and also does vinyl wrapping.

price was just over $200

yes... Norb over at CARBOX

did my sunstrip too. treats your car as if it is "his own"

totally recommend... as well with installation of car alarms/startup

wparsons 12-03-2013 11:41 AM

Norb did mine too, it was around $180 + tax at the time, but that was over a year ago.

I got charged 280+ from auto tint.

Not happy at all with the tints as they got enormous amount of positive review all over

Yeah sorry auto links.

My back tints is fuzzy and squiggly at night because of the heat lines, I don't know if it is intentional and working as intended. I went there thinking its 300 or 280 flat, bald guy I don't remember high balled me even after I said 86club discount.

Also did my clear bra for the front bumper, I asked them to quote me for entire hood, got two crazy diff prices.

Their owner john is extremely nice, that just my experience though, I'm sure it's cause I went their looking douchey.

I know John and Steve (the guy who dealt with you) personally

They are both stand up guys. Steve is very professional. Their pricing is very standard across the board.. Even if you are good friends with them.. If you have problems with your tints bring it back. All the tints they carry offer a very good warranty. I know right now that if he knew that you have problems with your tints, he would want you to go back.

Tinting is harder than people imagine. Mistakes do happen sometimes and sometimes external factors effect the install and how clean it is. No doubt they have one of the cleanest tint and clearbra shops in Toronto/GTA.

The pricing you got might be different depending on which tint you got. They carry different versions of the same brand. Some cost more than others.

Audio heaven definitely

drei 12-10-2013 11:21 AM

i got mine done at auto links, would definitely recommend.
the formula 1 tints do come with a lifetime warranty i believe, so if the person posting above has an issue, why don't you go back and ask them to look at it?

wparsons 12-10-2013 12:30 PM

Mine from Carbox came with a lifetime warranty on both film and workmanship as well.

Slixrix 12-16-2013 05:12 PM

I got the formula one from auto links. About a month after having it installed there were a few big air bubbles on the back tint so I brought it back in to get it redone and its better now. I had no issues with them redoing it. I highly recommend them.

I went to Trimline (http://www.trimlineinc.ca/) - they seem to be the people of choice out west in Mississauga for the dealers. My tint has been going strong with no signs of chipping, bubbling or fading (they use the 3M stuff) for the last 4 years. They also give you a discount (no tax) if you pay in cash.

Kazuya 12-17-2013 09:57 PM

Don't get me wrong, I had a good experience there and I still recommend it to my close friends but I guess I didn't read what I signed regarding the night issue on the tints(going to rip them out in the summer) and just minor confusion about the pricing.

I appreciate you reaching out to me personally and being so generous.

I also got the "fuzzy" rear window at night, but to me it was acceptable because as explained, theres an extra layer causing light refraction.

Got mine from Audio Heaven and it was very good as well...except for a tiny piece of eye lash or something that I can only see if I looked really closely. Didnt bother me too much so I never took it back

Frost 12-18-2013 05:32 PM

Weird - my rear hatch tint doesn't make things fuzzy. I will post up a picture tonight.

Also, refraction doesn't make things fuzzy, it bends light - ALL light so while it might bend your view, it shouldn't make it fuzzy. Think of the illusion when you look through water in a glass cup at objects behind the cup.

Had mine done at FX Auto in Markham summer before last. Got the upgraded tint that blocks infrared (heat). Was in the $300 range (definitely not the cheapest), but I am happy with the job.

Recommended!

I ended up going to norb at carbox. Excellent service, friendly guy and good price.

congee 01-23-2014 04:51 PM

After reading a lot of reviews from ft86 and other forums I decided to book an appointment with Auto-Links. I was going to tint my windows earlier but some negative reviews held me back. Decided to go ahead since they have way more positive reviews than negatives plus some personal friends have had positives experiences with them as well.

Took in my car today for 30% pinnacles all around. I dealt with John who was friendly and helpful through out the whole process. Took about 2.5 hours to install the tints which wasn't an issue for me. I'd rather have someone take the time to do the job correctly than to have it rushed out the door. I went around the area to kill time and came back to sit for about an hour. Waiting area is comfortable with a big leather couch, tons of magazines and a tv to keep you busy. The shop itself was very clean which is always a positive.

After he was done installing, he explained in detail how to care for the tints. Also, told me do a walk around of the car to see if I see any issues. Overall, pretty happy with the experience. I haven't seen any issues yet with the tint as I literally had it installed about 2 hours ago but so far so good. Will be going back to Auto-links in the future to get my roof vinyled and possibly clear bra.

DR 86 01-23-2014 05:48 PM

My full front windshield, side and rear Pinnacle ceramic tints, full bumper, full hood and full side fenders clear bra done at Auto-links. Couldn't be happier. When I'm done with performance upgrades, I will be bringing it back to them for audio upgrades.

+1 for FX Auto in Markham on Heritage rd.

They give the lifetime warranty and have plenty of options to choose from. Quick and percise job with no problems at all. Recommended as well!

brianc 01-24-2014 09:59 AM

It's also worth mentioning the auto links cuts their tints via machine. Not hand cut.

This allows for an accurate tint everytime. No guessing, no trial and error.

The option to upgrade to the F1 Ceramic tint is a bonus

Dyed tint doesnt actually block all that much heat. Ceramic on the other hand...
