Holy hell. Over 1500 signed up and about 650 more possibles. This is going to be crazy. Are all the enthusiasts on the east coast going?

OrbitalEllipses 12-03-2013 09:02 PM

I'm personally not going. Those kind of numbers will certainly lead to police intervention and they're not exactly competent or nice about it. I will remember him in my own way.

Wish I could!

That's what I was thinking too. The so called "organizers" are a bit in over there heads me thinks. If you look at the page, tons of people are asking to do it at a larger location and they just clam up and say to let them organize. 100 parking spots for 1600+ people which is likely to include a lot of idiots doesn't sound like a good time.

thejevans 12-04-2013 04:07 PM

I'm going. I'm gonna get there an hour early to help with parking. It's definitely going to be quite the clusterf**k, though. I for one, love that shit.

For those who cannot make it to any meets or sponsored events, I highly suggest donating to Paul Walkers Reach out Worldwide Foundation. Its the end of the year and if you need tax dudctions this is the place to do it.

An hour may not be enough. Then again, who knows how many people will actually go. I would go if it were a smaller event, but I've been to too many meets like this that went absolutely wrong already and don't want to add another one. :(

I planned to show up a couple hours early. I've never been there. Now I'm wondering if I get there early and get parking will I be stuck trying to get out?

I was merely posting that they're out there, there's no official one to pick that everyone's running or anything.

Yeah, they changed it to Saturday so I can't go. Organizers are definitely over their heads. "Rain or shine!", unless it rains.

Gotta love the idiots....oi. Someone you don't know wrote an article about a dead guy you never knew, so let's go commit crimes/felonies. Yay.

Saw Ivan post that video. Made me sad.

Jaylyons1 12-07-2013 04:09 PM

I'll be at the Glen Burnie meet over at Pep Boys on Richie @4-6 today. I don't plan on attending the ISP meet. Too many people with too many possible outcomes.

thejevans 12-08-2013 10:18 AM

The meet was awesome. Aside from a few people doing burnouts, and 1 guy kicking the cop car, it was very tame. Lots of amazing cars: 3 Lamborghini's (1 Aventador), 20-something GTR's (at least 1 R34 and an R32), a 900WHP Viper, and a C7 Corvette. I was directing traffic from 6:30PM-9:30PM and I saw at least 1000 cars and probably 2000 people (including @Sargy, @, and @1slo_frs). They're trying to make it an annual event and I would totally recommend going next year. I took some shaky pictures because my hands were cold:

I don't know if I will go next year either. From all the video's I've seen thus far, it's amazing no one was hurt.
