Sorry fellas, I was there at the show (press days) and the FT-86 isn't there :(

Tweeted about it yesterday. Make sure to subscribe to our twitter if you use the service.

Toyota didn't even have a press conference, guess their attention is turned to other matters right now. Instead, an Avalon is on the main display stand in Toyota's section of the show.

Well, there was a face lift announced for the WRX sedan and hatch.

The 2011 STi is still under wraps.

Yes we will see STi tomorrow, and yes "THE WING IS BACK". Finally, Subaru understand that STi needs a Wing, a huge wing( er not really huge).

Someone on the NASIOC said the EFI Logics(suby tuners) guys are at the Subaru press conference tonight and reported back, the STi will now be offered in a hatch and sedan so you can choose.

No, wider fenders, STI suspensions and black Brembo calipers and pretty much all the STI stuff it has on hatchback ver.

As for the pic, that kinda looks like Impreza GT, instead of STI (GT is between WRX and STI iirc).

Tougerenner 04-01-2010 01:29 AM

^ it was only in this last generation of impreza the GR(08-10) platform that STi did not share any of its body panels as the WRX. The GD(04-07) WRX and STI had identical bodies(fenders). I see what suby is doing, trying to save money by not having two sets of fenders.

It just came to me what the rear bumper of the new wrx sedan looks like....

I was assuming that pic was the sti. Plus, my post had a bit of smart-assary to it. I knew there were other details. I was being demeaning to subaru. :)

Yeah, I agree. It looks like an ugly car that someone tried to patch together with oddly matched body kits...

"lets glue some scoops here, and some fender flares here...and...":barf:

Myka 04-01-2010 02:06 PM

I feel sorry for the subaru guys. Apparently, this was a major letdown for them.

Matador 04-01-2010 02:15 PM

Meh.... I wouldn't kick it out of the garage.

DrunkenMime 04-01-2010 05:56 PM

If it had 180 NA hp I bet you would Matador....lol

the 300+ hp and AWD does a lot to mask the fugliness of the STi's...

I think it looks better in the hatch but can't stand the ebay taillights

FYI it's not really "Ebay" taillights. It's actually called "Euro" or "Altezza" taillights... but who's counting.

& yes, I'm not fan of those taillights either.

lol! yes exactly....a 3000lb pig with < 200hp and front wheel drive with the STi's looks, doesn't make an appealing package at all....

FWD? When did Subie re-start making FWD again?

As far as I know Subaru has never stopped offering front wheel drive. Just most countries dont have it offered in there sales line up. I think you can still get them in Japan. even about two or so years ago you still could get a 1.8 or 2L front wheel drive here in the base model.

you mean 1.5L & 2L? I don't think they have made 1.8L for a while... I forgot that Impreza Anesis have option of 1.5L or 2L fwd.
