Socal 86 Christmas Dinner Presented by Socal IE 86

1 Attachment(s)
Good evening everyone,

After a long day today at FT86 Nation, I got together with some people and discussed with everyone about possibly hosting a Christmas dinner / meet. I contacted @bear89103 (phil) regarding this matter. Phil and I have been working very closely along with @DAMotorsports in organize a variety of events from Canyon Runs, Meets, Special Events throughout 2013. Almost everyone in Socal knows Phil from the Food Meet's he organizes. With the help of all Socal IE 86 members we will be making this dinner/meet possible.

After making a few phone calls do different restaurants we where able to find one to accommodate us for Saturday, December 21st. We will be hosting the first Socal 86 Christmas Dinner at Claim Jumper located in Rancho Cucamonga (12499 Foothill Blvd Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91739) Roll-in will be at 7:00-7:30 PM. We will be waking inside the Restaurant at 8:30 PM.

Any FRS/BRZ Enthusiast from any meet is welcome to attend and enjoy this wonderful day. All other makes and models are also welcome as long as they respect the common rules: No Burnouts, No Revving, No Speeding, No Racing, and most importantly respect everyone and their rides.

Please comment and click the Thank You box to keep track of all Enthusiasts attending.
Just a disclaimer, their is no free food or drinks. Make sure to bring some money!

On behalf of Socal IE 86 we wish everyone Happy Holidays and hope to see everyone at the First Christmas Dinner/ Meet!

Preferably by the 18th. I have reserved well over 30 seats. We will be having the private room to our selfs for the rest of the night.

Sounds like a good time. Time for the silly, yet very important question.

In regaurds to paying, will be be billed individually? I see it being less confusing and easier for the waiter/tress instead of taking 30-40 credit cards. IMO, I'm pretty sure we will be billed indidually, but I want it to be made clear for those that are attending to create less confusion.

Also, if we are billed individually, will we be slapped with a 18% gratuity because we are actually a party of 30+ or just a tip based on our check and total (btw, I tip based on service not by price. Yeah, I'm that guy )

yeah lol.. I don't tip exactly 18%.

Either 20% or 10%.

The way my food meets have been before (see Fun, Food, and FA20's), we do ask for separate checks whenever we can. And yes they do slap the 18% gratuity on there. It works out for me personally because I typically tip 20%. But I get that for some others that might be higher than they usually tip. Unless the server is horrible, I think 15% for dinner is pretty standard. So a 3% increase on a $20 bill is $0.60 (60 cents). If that's a problem, just let me know. I'll chip in for that $0.60. It's the holidays and I'm in a festive mood. So no worries. Just come. :-)

Alain 12-01-2013 01:42 AM

Ill come out. Dont think ill be eating. Ill come and chill though.

This sounds like a lot of fun. I'm leaving the country on the 23rd so I'm not sure if I'll be squeezing last minute family time in that night but if I'm free I will let you know as soon as I can.

I don't know if this will add too much to the planning, but what do you think of having some sort of charity event in addition to a gtg? A lot of organizations plan toy drives and food drives which is all good in their own respect, however I feel it only helps sooth the side effects of a problem instead of solving the problem. I have 'loaned' money to business owners at kiva.org and think it would be great for everyone to donate what they can to give a loan in the name of the Inland Empire 86 group.

Thanks again to DesertFrs and other IE86 members for putting together these fun and well organized meets!

I'm working out some deals with a shop about donating items for a raffle and every penny received will be forwarded to the wounded warrior project. It's still a work in progress and hope I can make it happen. If not will see about creating an event later down the road for charity

Fast lap is literally down the street. It's still in the same location. Make a right out of the parking lot drive down go over the fwy make a left and ur their. Should not take more than 10 min with red lights.

Hey all, my mom says if we can to probably not park in the Wal-Mart section of that parking lot but maybe more towards the Guitar Center area (doubt we'd be able to park right at Claim Jumper it's not a huge lot) Not sure about the holidays, but mom said normally that other lot isn't usually packed, but the Wal-Mart one is and has 'tards and she just would hate for our cars to get scratched (awww gee mom ^^ ) So just a heads up.

You are able to buy a relay that fixes this problem. If I find the link I'll send it to you. I'm pretty sure you can find it at the local parts store.
