**FT-86 SpeedFactory Ecutek Stg.1 and Stg. 2 Tuning**

Guess who is Ecutek's newest Master Tuner???? That's right, FT-86 SpeedFactory now has an in-house tuner capable of using and distributing Ecutek products and tunes to the public

We enlisted the help of our local Subaru tuner that has been tuning EJ engines for quite some time to jump on board with us on the FA series motor. Once on board, he has been learning the platform and spent a lot of time with these cars on the dyno.

Here is what we have come up with!

We started with a Stg. 1 tune on a completely stock vehicle. Taking baselines on the same dynojet, the same day, and running 91 octane fuel.

http://ft86speedfactory.com/images/ft86stage1dyno.jpg

After letting the car cool down, we pulled some parts off and installed some bolt-ons to start our Stg. 2 package.

Mods for the Stg. 2 dyno are as follows:
AEM Intake
HKS EL Header
Motiv Concepts OP
Motiv Concepts HFC FP
Tomei 60S cat-back

Again, with 91 octane, here are our results.

So, tell us what you guys think? We want to be able to give you guys a complete experience when dealing with us at FT-86 SpeedFactory. With this new offering, you can expect results and the same customer service you have come to know when working with us :thanks:

It's always nice to have more options!

JonAvalon 11-20-2013 09:11 PM

Any chance for a recording of the Stage 2 with bolt ons? I've been wanting to hear what the 60S sounds like with a Motiv OP & FP and a header.

Calum 11-20-2013 10:22 PM

Welcome to the tuning game. Always nice to have more options.

almedarj 11-21-2013 01:48 AM

will you have a tune option for people with UEL headers also if it makes any difference when tuned vs EL headers

We can tune for any header, EL or UEL. We have each option fitted on our cars here and have tuned for them.

nunonuna 01-28-2014 11:41 PM

Do you guys offer onsite custom dyno tune if I want to visit you?

FT-86 SpeedFactory 02-16-2014 12:49 AM

Custom tunes are available locally. We have a dedicated in house tuner and can do a wide range of tunes remotely or locally. :)

geeang 03-05-2014 04:40 AM

A long time ago I bought the Stage 1 tune from FA20Club.com, quite a bit before all the dramas emerged. I also got the first FA20Club Catted UEL header made, it only took 9 months from ordering, to actually receiving. :P

I've been driving on the Stage 1 tune for a few months now, and it was TERRIBLE. I constantly bugged Toni to give me a stock map, but there was always an excuse. Fuel economy was bad, throttle response was rubbish, dip felt even worse than stock.

Fast forward to last week, I contact the guys at FT-86 SpeedFactory and bought a Stage 2 tune from them. They walked me through getting ECUTEK to switch my license from FA20Club to them, and I start chatting with their tuner.

After just 3 logs, my car feels like a completely different animal. Throttle response is so smooth and amazing, fuel economy is BETTER than stock, and the torque dip is completely gone! This is definitely the way the car should have been from the factory, just surges all the way to redline.

Mods:
TRD USA full intake
FA20Club UEL Catted headers
FT-86 SpeedFactory Stage 2 tune

Big ups guys! I don't have any dynos to show, but I seriously couldn't be happier with the tune! :)

How much would it cost for me to get custom dyno tune with you? Im gonna need tune+license together. I would rather visit you and do dyno tune than remote tune. Also, do you guys operate dyno tune on Saturdays too?

Thank you very much. Graham has put a lot of time in on these tunes and is great at getting them perfected to your car. Appreciate the feedback. :)

Yes, we will be working with our tuner this spring.

We are off to Road Atlanta this weekend and as soon as we get back we will be getting our tuner some time with the silver car to mess with FI :burnrubber:

Moshpit37 03-11-2014 12:37 AM

I know your website says that the Stage 2 results are with a minimum of an intake and exhaust installed, but right now I'm stock in that department aside from a K&N air filter. I do plan on doing the exhaust in a few months, but I'm in the market for a tune now. Can I get the Stage 2 and get an update when I upgrade my exhaust or do I need to go with a Stage 1 for now? Sorry for the noob question but I'm a noob to this. Don't want to gimp myself with the Stage 1 if I'll be able to get by with a Stage 2 and update it later.

You will want a stg. 1 to start out with.

Once you get more mods, you can jump to a stg. 2 for a small fee.

FRS_FIEND 03-17-2014 03:57 PM

so im 100% sure im getting my ecutek stg.2 from you guys when i return from my deployment amongst other things! lol
http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/r.../IMG_14911.png
(checked off parts are installed on my frs) the spring rates are just put there for organization im not sure what i should go for i was hoping you guys could help me out on finding the right choice? :)

anyway back on topic! lol will i have to specify in my order with the ecutek stg2 that i have the uel setup to better help me out? and it is plug and play right? or do i have to find a shop in my area to tune or setup?

You will choose the Stg. 2 option when ordering. Once you have it ordered, we send you a form to submit that will state all your mods and Racerom functions you would like activated. Then we make you a map for your specific mods.

The flashing process is plug and play. It is as simple as installing a program on your computer.

perfect! just what i wanted to hear

not going to lie the 2step limiter alone is enough for me to pay 800 bucks... the optimal performance from my aftermarket parts is a nice thing also lol as noob as that might sound. in that form would i specify what rpm i would like it set too? or is there an optimal rpm you guys recommend?

tahdizzle 03-18-2014 03:16 PM

So if you buy the stage 2 w/ cable + liscence, you need to buy race rom also to use the new features like the VSC sport tunes etc.

Sorry I am new to Tuning and I want to be sure what I am getting.

Sorry I am new to Tuning and I want to be sure what I am getting.

If you are not getting a tune from us and only getting the license and cable to tune yourself racerom is not included and would need to be purchased separately.

quicksilver30 03-24-2014 03:43 PM

I am currently waiting on my FT86SpeedFactory catted UEL header and I plan on getting the stage 2 tune after I install that.

Currently I have a K&N filter with a Zeta Performance inlet tube for my intake mods. Is it worth getting a full intake like the aFe or AEM with the tune? Will i see any noticeable different in performance?

tennisfreak 03-25-2014 03:50 PM

It would be really cool if you guys offered a package that combined your own header with a tune made specifically for it.

Example: FT86Catted header $925 + FT86Header Tune Kit $825 - 12% bundle discount = $1540

You will most likely net a few more horsepower with the full intake. If you can live without it, I would not worry about it.

Hrmmm...this is a pretty good idea. Needs a bit of work on that pricing though!

FT-86 SpeedFactory 04-30-2014 11:43 PM

Got everyone all taken care of. We just did an E85 Vortech with upgraded fuel system. Results soon on that. :)

Kwaziekeller 07-15-2014 10:03 PM

Answered through email. Looking forward to the next round of mods. Gotta save for a turbo kit now tho ;( no mods for a while.

ron_n_tx 09-25-2014 01:17 AM

I think I'm about ready to try a tune on my 2103 FR-S. I have the GReddy SP Elite exhaust and GReddy Momentum intake installed. Which tune do you recommend? What kind of support do you provide?

Kwaziekeller 09-27-2014 04:31 PM

I believe the recommend the Stg1 tune for CAI/Exhaust etc, still running the stock header. Stg2 is recommended for those with bolt ons, including an aftermarket header iirc.

Graham (their tuner) provides excellent service. He'll help you if you have any questions or concerns, and once you send him a datalog he is pretty prompt at replying. In fact, a part I ordered was backordered when I got my tune, and Graham agreed to look over my datalogs once the part was installed just to make sure the tune was ok. That's pretty good service if you ask me. I still need to send him that log tho lol. Overall I am very happy with my tune from them, the butt dyno is happy, and I plan to go back to them if I decide to go e85 or run an aftermarket header.

mjs 09-27-2014 06:08 PM

I've got a CAI and full Perrin 3" exhaust and Revworks UEL. I decided to go with Ft86speedfactory for a stage 2 tune and Graham provided excellent service and was very prompt to respond to emails. I am very satisfied with the post-tuning results. I would definitely recommend going with these guys.

Re~Mix 10-13-2014 09:10 PM

Hey guys, installed your UEL header a while back and loving the results. I also envisioned putting a tune on that car just new to the game (and cautious). What all is involved and is this something I can do in my garage on a saturday morning?

Figure I should make the most of the TRD intake, TRD catback and FT86SF UEL header I have installed.

Thanks!

NoFear99 08-04-2016 05:45 PM

I just came to buy a stage2 tune this morning to replace my old FA20CLUB tune I am running since 2013.

My setup is :

- Perrin light weight crank pulley
- AFE Takeda Intake (Oiled version)
- Borla UEL header
- FA20Club Overpipe
- HKS Resonated Front Pipe
- Greddy SP Elite Axleback muffler

I cant wait to see my new logs with their tune and see how is Graham's service either.

I'm trying to do the same. Does the 200 dollar charge still apply to the replacement tunes they provide

Yes.

It is cheap and you get a great service via email from the tuner.

weederr33 07-17-2017 06:53 PM

Hi there! Have you guys tuned any of the 2017s? I was thinking about doing the stage 2 tune plus license (I already have the cable). How is the process of tweaking tunes if needing to be done?
