10 series #2,088 is down..
Yay for domino effect rearendings, luckily it's not completely crunched but anything that lights up on the front/left side no longer lights... The back isn't awful but my trunk was stuck. Of course the little shit behind me had no insurance, that's my luck.
I just hope the headache and back pain goes away. http://i930.photobucket.com/albums/a...psff5789d6.jpg http://i930.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps2f61691f.jpg |
God thats one of my biggest fears. Getting hit by an uninsured driver. Hope you recover well but if you can try to get checked out. Especially since you're getting headaches.
It could have been worse though. Rather the car than a life. |
Sorry to hear brother, us usual atleast your safe, cars can be replaced.
Sucks balls the guy has no insurance!! I'm no expert, what options does that leave you? Small claims court or something? |
Sorry to see this Missy. How do insurance claims work where you are...if you're hit by an un-insured driver, does your insurance pay? It works that way here, plus the un-insured tool gets a $5,000 (minimum) fine for not having insurance. Good luck, and go see a doctor.
|
Headaches could mean you sustained a minor concussion. Plenty of rest is the Rx. Car can be fixed or replaced. You've only got one brain.
|
Sorry to hear that bro.
I had to use the horn today after a clueless driver in an old 90's Ford Falcon began to randomly turn into my lane. After I beeped him he just waved... Yes hello there you nearly crashed into my car. |

I'm hoping my back and head don't hurt in the morning. I don't want to have something wrong with my body. The cars body damage hurts me enough. |
That sucks... Sorry to see this.. Hope you're ok and u get it worked out and repaired to your satisfaction...
|
Sorry to hear, if you have back pain and a headache you should go to the doctor and have yourself checked.
|
He didn't get in any trouble for causing an accident and having no insurace?
WTF, shit my cousin had a SUPER MINOR rear end (at fault) and he got 2 tickets and the damage was probably less than $2k involving 2 other cars. That is complete shit. Hope it works out for you. |
Thanks guys, I just feel super sick and stressed because it's my first accident and my first really nice car. I'm just really bummed. My head and back still kinda hurt but I'm going to wait a bit, not a hospital kinda person...

Get some rest, get better and we're all glad you're ok. |

:( Sorry to see your car in that condition. I hope it gets fixed with no issues and it's good that your dad is going to help out on that end. I agree with Hawk and the others. It might be just stress or it could be a combination of both stress and injury. You really should get checked out. And if you need anyone to vent to or chit chat with other then family I'm willing to give you my number or whatever. |

It's sort of a nanny state up here. They blame the poor having no insurance and begging for money on street corners as sort of being a problem with society and it's money grubbing ways. Otherwise there wouldn't be so many early 20 something kids that look to be in good health smoking cigarettes asking for money outside of safeway or other places. |
I have the feeling to like...if any type of accident involved, just take insurance money, and FI the FR-S up, or Engine Swap!!!!!!!
Glad you are doing great, and it doesn't look too bad. I feel your pains for a new car, so sorry. |

Man I wanna cry but it'll hurt my head.. |

I know what you mean. I had a galant embedded in my passenger door about two months after I got mine. My fault of course, but it still sucked pretty badly. It was also my first major wreck other then a fender bender over a decade ago. You'll get through it and your car will look as good as new with except with a bit of tarnish on it's soul. |
My friend been in this situation before. Said he had to pay his insurance company a deductible to pay for repairs while the insurance company got the money from the uninsured driver and later on got his deductible back . Though I guess it depends on whether they are willing to pay, though by the sound of it in your case, I assume that uninsured driver won't.
|
Well there goes the not crying thing..
I absolutely cannot talk to my parents about this or give suggestions about what to do or even question things without getting yelled at. Holy shit I'm more of a wreck than my car.. I guess I'll just hope for the best, I sure as hell hope nothing is wrong with me. |
Very sorry for your mishap, Missy. Damn shame that both you and your beautiful new 10 Series were hurt.
Like others said, go see a doctor right away. It sounds like a pretty severe whiplash since your head went forward first and then snapped back with the rear impact. I'm not a doctor, but have read of others having similar accidents and worse outcomes because they didn't get medical attention soon enough. And check into a diminished value claim. Your car will definitely qualify. Here in Oregon, we pay for mandatory uninsured motorist protection to kick in for situations like this. It usually involves the at-fault driver also being unlicensed and fleeing back to their country of origin. Take care, keep us posted. |

I called my mom, and I expected for her to yell her lungs out into my face, but nah. Her first reaction was. "Are you hurt ? Did you call the police ?" I cried hearing those words. Because I remember 1 minute ago I was crawling out of my car, and wishing for the car to be scratched, but I saw it's side crumbled. That camry was my mom first brand new car ever.. |
Sorry to see this...
As someone who suffered a domino-effect accident like this (albeit at a higher speed) the headache and back pain are just the beginning. I still have neck and back pain 14 years later, and I was extremely fit and pain-free before the accident. Get thoroughly checked out by a doctor, have x-rays of your spine taken, seek physical therapy if necessary. It might also be a good idea to get lawyered up if your insurance fails to take care of you... |
Sorry to hear. If your experiencing from pain or headaches you may have suffered a slight whiplash injury or something a long those lines. Go see a doctor and have your self assessed. If anything comes of it like medicine, or physio costs your capable of adding that to your insurance claim in most cases.
|
Honestly our health insurance was switched recently and I have no idea what I need to do to get checked out and I don't want to piss off my parents by asking since when I was saying my head hurt this morning my dad said "it's just because you're sick(hardly) your airbag didn't deploy and you only hit the head rest.. Take something" I think he thinks I'm being a bitch about it or something and they're too upset with me to think anything else.

Just go and take it one step at a time so it doesn't seem so overwhelming. Inch by inch life is a cinch, yard by yard life is hard. Also remember that if money can fix it, it's not a problem. Keep things in perspective and you will be fine. Just a bump in the road, so to speak. You will get past this and all will be well again. Good luck. P.S. you're not grounded! :) |

Not sure why your parents are yelling at you for something you didn't cause. Don't need that stress..for sure. |

Well, Missy, that's a shame you were involved in an accident ......http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gra...images/sad.gif
As mentioned, the most important thing is your health; make sure you take care of yourself. It appears your car could be fixed; let the insurance company and body shop worry about that. As a parent of three children, who all had accidents within 2 months of getting their drivers license, I can identify with your parents anxiety ..... if they "yell" at you, that just may their way of saying "I'm shocked, but I'm so glad you're OK". You're not alone, most of us were involved in an automobile accident when we were young ..... and we "survived" the nasty experience. humfrz |
Please please PLEASE take notes and extra aware of your body, you WILL develope issues that will be long term, 2/5 of my family member went through the same thing as you did except they were more severe, they ended up being cover and paid in thousands for those accidents that affected them permanently.
Neck pain and back issues will NEVER go away, they stick with you forever so you best make the most out of it. I am sorry that a dumbass with no insurance raped you like this, it pains me so to read your post :( |

If you did that then I'm sure you would have had a wreck long before this. And he is the one that ran into you because he wasn't paying attention. Just because you weren't bleeding or crippled doesn't mean something could have been damaged. People have been severely injured just from whiplash or other things that most people take for granted would be non-injury causing. I'm sure money isn't most likely a major issue. Even so, something like that needs to be checked out. Technically I should have gotten checked out after my wreck. But, I've never seen a use of most of the army medical community as a whole. Simply because a lot of the army doctors generally seemed lost to me. A lot of them these days are civilian contractors though. |
holy hell!! hope your doing better, the car is replaceable while you are not.....although this does call for a rocketbunny V2 ;)

Beside, there is nothing that happening to you, and did not happen to your parents. They understand much more than you would think. |

However, be advised, a car forum is NOT the best place to accept medical advice .... http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gra.../shakehead.gif I hope you get to feeling better. humfrz |

You really should at least have someone look at it. Sounds like you pulled muscles and all that. A guys mentality?? So you find gas jokes amusing and laugh at Johny Knoxville a lot? |
Quote:
@humfrz I was totally going to ask if anyone could examine me too. DAMN.. |

OR ...... you can go see a doctor ...... your call .... ;) humfrz |
Glad you're not seriously injured. You are justified in the way you feel right now. I remember my first accident and it is tough to deal with. I prided myself on being such a good driver yet it still happened. That's why they call them accidents. As a physical therapist, I can tell you it is important to see your primary care physician. Let them evaluate and document their findings. It's good to have everything that is a repercussion of the accident documented. Usually headaches from a car accident are in relation to whiplash. Yet never assume you don't have a mild concussion.
On another another note, maybe we'll get to see an affordable car insurance act by Obama before he finishes his last term. 'Obamacar' might fit quite well. That way we won't have to deal with the other set of idiots on the road. |
