Anyone on here? RIP.

More pics here, and some parts I guess if you need any: https://www.iaai.com/Vehicles/Vehicl...adRecent=True#

Stierzy34 11-13-2013 10:18 AM

Wow. Always shakes me up seeing parts and pieces so familiar just mangled like that.

n2oinferno 11-13-2013 10:20 AM

That sucks. RIP.

Synack 11-13-2013 10:20 AM

Article was published in June, but RIP to whoever it was.

SubiePig 11-13-2013 10:32 AM

Second badly off BRZ I have seen this week. The other looked like the driver didn't walk away either.

Stay safe out there guys.

Whitigir 11-13-2013 10:34 AM

RIP to whoever that is, that is so sad.

I don't mean to dis-respect anyone at all! But please

I hope every-body see it.... Light-weight + Rear wheel drive.... Jeez. I have to say this, driving these cars are as similar as riding a motorcycle, please do not take it lightly, especially with more power at the wheels.

You don't counter steer at the corners with your brake, or your throttle, unless you know how, and are prepared to drift....on public road.

You brake before entering the corners, you steer from the outer diameter to the inner diameter of the corners, and if you want speed, apply throttle exiting the corner.

Please drive safe, save lives, and properties

Frost 11-13-2013 10:51 AM

Some of the guys posting on the website linked are just a$$hat$.

RIP - hope everyone learns a little something from this.

Ralph Spoilsport 11-13-2013 11:10 AM

Hurts bad to look at.

somejace 11-13-2013 11:27 AM

Holy crap man.. people be careful! RIP..

hypermax 11-13-2013 01:06 PM

what the hell was this driver doing?

ichitaka05 11-13-2013 01:14 PM

Seriously, this is the biggest issue we'll be having. Yes, this car is under power & lightweight car... that doesn't mean it's safe to be idiot in the public street. Learn your BRZ/FRS limits at the track and autox, not at the public street. This isn't Need for Speed nor Ini-D.

Respect each others at the road.

Guff 11-13-2013 01:17 PM

RIP

NWFRS 11-13-2013 01:19 PM

Damn. :-(

SirBrass 11-13-2013 01:20 PM

This definitely makes one think, as well. Be careful, no matter WHAT vehicle you drive!

Diode Dynamics 11-13-2013 01:26 PM

Very sad to see threads like this pop up

Take it to a track, wear a helmet and be responsible on the streets

I gotta ask, how did you know it's boosted? But that sucks, must be going very fast in order to do that damage.

Big ol' intercooler in the auction shots.

It's situations like these that lead to dead people.

SirBrass 11-13-2013 02:56 PM

Yeah.... no way would I be canyon carving at high speed at night. Too much that you can't see coming. This is real life, not Initial D.

whitefrs 11-13-2013 03:06 PM

OP. his name was Darell i believe and he was the first turbo car in NY

work and tune was done by MRP and Visconti

bkblitzed 11-13-2013 03:45 PM

I think the driver was leaving a party so he probably had some drinks in him. It took 2 days until someone discovered that car.

Frost 11-13-2013 03:55 PM

Did the MX5 suffer from the same driver retardness as this car does?

I think less because it was viewed by a chick car and that most people who bought MX5s were older men and women.

Not saying the FRZ is a bad car, just we will see a lot more of these cases sooner or later.

AznKirby 11-13-2013 04:01 PM

:( RIP Always sad to see
It sucks to say, but I feel like there would be a lot of these to come..
Canyon carving at night is really dangerous, even on a road you know very well.

Be safe out there!

That isn't safe at all, It's barely visible. Although it might look fun I really think that's stupid and careless. Sometimes I'm not sure if this car will turn into a stereotype with the people driving them, I hope not.

PStaff716 11-13-2013 04:53 PM

i was having a good 'ole time, drinking some beers after a long day and listening to music...

and then I saw this thread :/

I want to puke right now, thinking about how many times I've pushed my car to what I felt like were the limits, thinking it was somehow safe. I almost NEEDED to see this, as I will think twice before getting her sideways at speeds above 40mph..

RIP to all those who have perished in our beloved '86.. may your memory live on through all of us every time we turn the key and that engine roars

Quick google search turned up his youtube channel. One video, but it shows the BRZ at about 2 min.

Also made me remember this site (http://brzcrash.com/), which suspiciously had a story about this from today as well (which if you read the first page of comments someone points out the story is from June) Unless OP got it from there.

ZionsWrath 11-13-2013 05:32 PM

They don't cover occupant compartment with sheets if there isn't a body.

B L U E S L A T E 11-13-2013 05:33 PM

RIP to the driver who couldn't make it... :(

But seriously, some people need to realize there is simply no "reset" or "retry" button in real life. It ain't Grand Turismo or Forza in real life.

Sure looks like the same BRZ sitting in the garage and being modded. Same wheels, blue accents, gold piece near intercooler, black fender garnish. I wonder if it was a customer car or a shop car?

Even before seeing this I cannot help but think about this happening when I see kids saying this car needs more power and preaching the virtues of FI. But this is what happens when the cars abilities exceed the kid's driving abilities. May he rest in peace and I hope that he did not leave a wife or family behind with massive credit card bills for all those mods that ended up killing him.

So sad.

Reminds me of this video i saw when i was looking for perrin intake videos. I didn't want to post this before since i figured it might be someone on this forum, but i guess it would be irresponsible not making them aware of the dangers they are putting others in.
