Auto headlights... why does it beep when you exit car?
Is it just a design flaw, or are the lights suppose to turn off when the car is off after some time?
|
It beeps because you opened the door before turning off the car, as a reminder for you to remove your keys.

and the lights will turn themselves off eventually.
|
I wish there was a way to not have the lights come on when starting in the garage. Don't use the auto setting because of this. Not good to have the lights come on and off quickly each day.

I spoke to God at dinner today. Your wish is granted.

Do the headlights come on when you start the car in the dark with the parking brake on?
Excuse to go drive the car ;-) |

If you turn on accessory (push button without pressing clutch) the headlights wont come on but running lights do. If you start car (depress clutch while pressing button) headlights come on immediately. They should have been smart and not had the HL come on until parking break comes off. |
Yikes. Another reason why I am glad I stayed spartan by not getting the push button start - Manual trans and manual electric controls. Yes, Yes, Yes...

i switch the lights on myself. i like driving with the DRL till i really need the lowbeams
|
oh fuzzles typo. Was wonder why it DOESN'T beep when you turn off the car with the lights set to auto.
It beeps when the lights are on the other settings. |
In auto they will turn off automatically after a short period of time. There is no need to beep and remind you to turn them off when in this mode.

oh it seems like it shuts off if you use keyless to lock the doors.
a lot of it is making sense, but i think it will take some effort for me to get used to it after using 'manual' headlights all my life. |

You may not see the benefit of this, but someone living in a more rural area with dark/unlit driveways would benefit greatly from this feature if they were parked outside. -alex |
