BRZ and GT86 confirmed for Forza 5

http://au.ign.com/wikis/forza-5/Cars

Pretty stoked that the twins are in the game. Apparently every car in the game has been rescanned and rebuilt for the next gen. Interesting that there's no Scion FRS as Forza 4 and Horizon had the FRS instead of the GT86. I wonder if the GT86 will have the Euro headlamps, it's name would suggest that it does.

The Toyota and Subaru lineups are both actually pretty good considering the car list for this game is pretty lean at only 200 cars. But EVERY car is going to be able to be explored in Autovista mode which is pretty amazing. 14 tracks and no Nurburgring til January is sort of a let down, but Bathhurst, Spa and Yas Marina are in so I'll forgive them.

Fuckin horse shit its an X1 exclusive....

kludger 11-07-2013 08:27 PM

Cool about the 86 being in without needing to buy DLC, but they dropped Nurburgring Nordschleife which is inexcusable for a "driving passion" game, not to mention Suzuka.
:bs:

I am holding off until summer or more until they add back what Forza4 has I'm sure they will sell it back to us via "DLC" to justify the $50 season pass, so lame...

GT6 much better :)

The Ring is apparently being added in January as they're laser scanning the whole track and remodeling it.

Bummed about Suzuka though. But Spa, Yas Marina and Bathurst should be amazing.

That's excusable.

All I can hope is gt6 will be much better than gt5...I bought my ps3 and g25 when it all first came out for that game alone...then when it finally came out years later, I found it to be crap...
I've got both the xb1 and ps4 preordered and will get both f5 and gt6 but (not trying to start any arguments, this is my opinion) the forza franchise has become the definitive car game on console.
Gt4/5 were very lackluster and every forza has just gotten better (except horizon).
That being said, I have hated forza giving in to arcadey style features and making it accessible to retards. Make it full sim, get rid of all the nonessential assists (keep abs, tcs, vsc), the stupid rewind crap, driving line, etc, etc) and for the people these games were originally designed for they will just be that much better for it.
Keep horizon for arcade, forza for sim...gt for sim on the ps and driveclub for arcade.
Also while their carlist is only 200 cars, you can guarantee that each car will be that much better and accurate for it, and they will all drive differently...I understand WHY gt does what they do being a driving simulator they want everyone to be able to drive their own cars, but seriously...who really gives a crap about the tiny cosmetic change that might be the only difference between two years models of the same car...which is why gt always has soooo many cars...most are the same...get rid of that and I'd be surprised if there were many more 3-400

Tromatic 11-08-2013 07:40 PM

Leave the basement, go drive the real car.

R.S-HawK 11-08-2013 08:28 PM

Yeah...

I'm not gonna play a video game when I have the actual car sitting in the garage...

Just to make sure you are aware, since a lot of people aren't, gt6 is for ps3, not ps4.

The problem I have is not the amount of cars they got rid of but which cars they got rid of. No Lotus Elise, no Lancia Stratos, no first or second gen RX-7, no Deloreon... the list goes on.

We still have the free mandatory Day One DLC that has yet to be revealed. I'm sure there won't be a TON of cars, but there are more coming.

Grip Ronin 11-10-2013 06:02 PM

i have a frs in forza 4 . its like $2. grand turismo physics really suck, kill the whole game not to mention to stiff camera

The stiff camera is the reason I abandoned Gran Turismo. After playing Forza the freeview camera just felt so right. Also the car sounds in GT5 were pathetic (Cruisn USA had better sounds).

I hope GT6 has alleviated these problems. If it has I might buy it. I'm afraid that GT has become a quantity over quality series. They boast that there are 1000+ cars but they still utilise PS2 upscaled cars which is pretty shoddy. GT5 only had 200 cars that were actually modelled and built with PS3 tech.

That said I will still probably buy GT6 to drive Willow Springs and Good Wood.

ya i hate the steering, its really ridiculous. i have a wheel and it doesn't make it any better. i was playing gt3 the other day and the physics were so much better then what it is now. the whole premium car standard car is just pure dumb

Good for you.

I'd like to play the game and drive my car IRL.

I race my car at PIR but since the weather in the north west sucks in the winter, I game all winter. I'm thinking forza 5 with my car and a nice fanatec steering wheel will tide me over.

That being said, even in the rain track driving my FRS is the most fun I've had behind the wheel in a while.

jjan 11-11-2013 06:45 AM

I first practiced with forza. before going to the Nurburgring.:)

hur1ey02 11-11-2013 11:41 AM

No Forza 5 for xbox 360 right? I may have to buy an XBox One after all :(

Over $600 in my existing Fanatec wheel, clubsport pedals and stand have been rendered useless by Micosoft's new proprietary controller scheme. I will not be playing Forza 5 nor buying Xbone. It IS compatible with PS4 even though it was created for Xbox... hope GT6 is a win.

SirBrass 11-11-2013 01:40 PM

Gt 6 is confirmed as ps3 only, so if that's the only game you want, go get a ps3 (wicked cheap with the ps4 launch approaching).

I'm getting a ps4 & keeping my ps3. And hopefully going from my logitech g27 to a fanatec setup soon.

I have been on the fence about a Fanatec/Clubsport setup for ages. It always gets bumped lower on the priority list by other things. Maybe once the new games come out, the older stuff will get cheap enough that I finally make the leap. Does it still work for X360 and older versions of Forza?

Oh yes... the setup is absolutely brilliant with Forza 3 and 4, the Formula 1 games, and Dirt, etc. I still absolutely love it. I'm just steamed at Microsoft's lack of support going forward for these setups which many enthusiasts own. It's also PC compatible which has made me consider doing a more serious PC sim rig.

You won't have to worry about that anymore. The Ring isn't in Forza 5

Not entirely true. It wont be in at launch. I will be out in January sometime, and from what I remember, free.

tennisfreak 11-22-2013 05:38 PM

Been driving the FT86 exclusively in Forza 5 so far. The driving feel and characteristics are surprisingly accurate. Its fun the push the car around the track and let her slide around. Her ass slides just as easily in Forza 5 as in real life.

Only sad part is I suck at Forza 5 and every race I beat the car to shit.

swift996 11-22-2013 06:41 PM

Do they offer a supercharger upgrade for the BRZ/FRS/86? Twin screw?

tennisfreak 11-23-2013 09:35 PM

Supercharger, turbocharger you can do just about anything to it.

The problem is that her butt slides around in Forza 5 just as easily in game as IRL, even though I have added downforce, track tires, upgraded tire width (Staggered setup), tons of weight taken out, etc. I didn't bother upgrading the suspension because I would have been pushed above the category I was attempting to compete in (B series). I just touch the gas coming out of the corner and she either spins or starts wildly fish tailing. Not very good IMO, as a race car. I did adjust the final drive ratio. Originally top speed was something like 160mph, which is definitely not achievable, even with the the ~230hp in game. I knocked that down to around 140mph, and I'm just about hitting fuel cut-off at the end of the straight at Yas.

I bought the Honda S2000 CR, now that car is meant for racing. SOOOOO much more traction, and oomph.

If you didn't upgrade your suspension that would do it.... You might want to do that and an alignment with some rear toe in...

My setup for the GT86 works okay.

C Spec 500 maxed out.

Enkei RPF1 with upgraded street tyres, 235 square setup, sport coilovers, sport intake, sport exhaust, street clutch, sport sway bars, front strut brace and sport brakes.

I race with most of the assists turned off. I do however leave stability control on when racing RWD.

I drive mine like a madman around the track. She slid around a lot until a buddy of mine who takes Forza way too seriously gave me access to his special spreadsheet that calculates all tune values needed for a vehicle. Now she's stable an lethal. Even will abs off, manual shifting, no brake lines, and damage on I can still tear up a track.

Key is to upgrade suspension, tires, wheels, and get some more power for acceleration. After the upgrades you need to tune the car because she will drive like shit.

Maybe I'll post up my numbers later but I don't have access to them now. I can start you off by saying lower the tire pressure, adjust the camber, soften the springs, adjust the spring rebound rate. Pretty much everything is set way too high by default. Lower the settings will get you started.

Later on when I get access at home I will post up my upgrades and tune values.

Tuning is the key in Forza.
