hey guys!! scam or not???

hey guys i wanted to get an k&n filter came across this http://www.autoanything.com/air-filters/kn-air-filters not sure if its a scam or not since i see it at other places for 50$++!!! any thoughts???:D

ZionsWrath 10-30-2013 09:47 PM

Yes it is a scam considering they don't even have an option for 2013 FRS or BRZ

Evil Jesus 10-30-2013 09:51 PM

If you think it's a scam, chances are it's a scam. "Too good to be true" and all that jazz.

forzajuve 10-30-2013 10:00 PM

Just get it off the trusted vendor sites known around the forum community or Amazon. I mean, you are in need of a "deal" for a drop in air filter? If your dilemma is a drop in filter cost, then why did you buy this car?

chulooz 10-30-2013 10:19 PM

If you gotta ask...

cooldandani 10-30-2013 10:20 PM

Price is not a problem I have money just trying to save money :) lol I bought it from the k&n store for 55$ any saved money is always good for other parts hehe ;)

Autoanything is a reputable website. You need to make sure that this is the correct filter though. The filter that our cars require is the K&N 33-2300, IIRC.

R.S-HawK 10-30-2013 10:28 PM

Huh? $50?+

Amazon has the drop-in K&N for $38.

Thats correct; just looked for one at a few local auto parts stores and no one has it in stock. Guess thats a sign in need an aftermarket intake :0)

Clembo 10-30-2013 10:40 PM

The prices shown are a RANGE for a variety of different filters. And no filter is shown for the FR-S / BRZ.

I've done business with AutoAnything for years, top shelf customer service and prices comparable (or perhaps a little better on sale) with most others.

So what's your question?

fistpoint 10-30-2013 10:51 PM

Another +1 for AutoAnything. Sometimes their prices appear to be higher, but that's because it includes shipping.

When I bought my car cover from them the price was identical(well, 1 cent apart) to everywhere else once shipping was factored.

eddieEndo 10-31-2013 12:09 AM

I've gotten tons of stuff for my tacoma from autoanything.com their prices are legit and shipping was very quick

Fast_Freddy 10-31-2013 03:23 AM

Don't listen to idiots suggesting that you buy only from "trusted vendors around the forum community". You'll get the same filter regardless of who you buy it from so why pay more?

The best price today is $26.30 shipped and that is a steal! This filter typically costs ~$40 shipped.

This.

I bought a borla cat-back from them once.

Had an issue with the resonator on it being damaged. They helped me with a shipping label to get it sent back and a new one sent my way.

autoanything is legit.

with that being said, their website can be a little tough to navigate considering how much merchandise they offer.

Autoanything.com has treated me well. I have bought several things from them. My oem mud guards were 79$, not a bad price.

I wish this deal was available when I wanted one! I paid a little under $40 from Amazon but at least I was able to use credit card reward points. Enjoy the great deal.

Accurate Race Shop 11-01-2013 12:11 AM

This sounds really cheap considering I can't get them from k and n for that price. I sell these but mostly you use a forum vendor for their knowledge and experience with the car. We have sat there trying to figure out problems and donated our cars to be test fitted for parts. People buy from us because they know if a problem comes up we have been there and we know how to fix it. Your not buying from us because we are the cheapest you are buying from us because if something happens you have someone to hold accountable and to call to make it right when things go wrong.

Thanks for the link!!! I was ready to buy but the seller is on vacation till the 4th.:mad0259: Hope he doesn't change the price.

Kimsey47 11-01-2013 12:37 AM

Just wondering, but are the ebay filters possible Chinese knockoffs? They (China) seem to manufacture fake products for everything else in the world so I'd be worried about getting a inferior product. Thoughts?

Seems to good to be true but the seller accepts returns and has good feedback so if I suspect it to be a fake then just ship it back. Been using ebay for years never had a problem so im always going to be confident in what I buy from there.

eddieEndo 11-01-2013 05:29 AM

for the millionth time that inital price you saw is the AVERAGE of a bunch of different intake filter products that they have... as mentioned before there isn't one for the brz...

eddieEndo 11-01-2013 05:29 AM

This.

TopGearSolutions 11-01-2013 01:18 PM

The correct part is 33-2300.

We try to price match whenever possible but sometimes websites list below our cost and they end up losing money too. Sometimes it's because a price has changed recently or other times they simply messed up or is a typo.

Nik33615 11-02-2013 05:50 AM

Auto anything.com advertises in most major car magazines with full or two page ads. They are 100% legit. No fly by night company has the money to advertise in every major car mag every month like that.

ZionsWrath 11-02-2013 05:58 AM

They are legit but he just looked at the minimum price for the cheapest filter they sell for any car. And they don't even have BRZ FRS listed according to their drop down menus...
