i personally dont have the fix done on my vehicle due to my car being a frs. But we just got word that they will be sending few amounts of them in and majority will have to be ordered.

Nope, it works so far. I have the new pump. One guy said he hear one chirp at 2000 rpms. the crickets never existed at 2000 rpms.

GT86drifter 10-28-2013 10:08 PM

had a buddy came back after 1600 miles so its a meh

utekineir 10-28-2013 10:16 PM

Old, unproven as of yet news, that everyone actually taking the time to follow the cricket threads knows.

No need for a misleading title.

Thread fail till further notice.

Tromatic 10-28-2013 10:24 PM

I'll happily wait a while to see how this shakes out.

Steve201brz 10-29-2013 04:36 PM

Of course I can't access my account to check TSB's...go figure.

The TSB is supposedly dated a week and a half ago. How is that old news?

Someone told me about this "new fix" this past weekend, going to look into it

IIRC, a Toyota tech posted that this was in the wild about two months ago. I don't know if this will be a Scion recall fix or not, though.

TeamZleep 10-29-2013 05:30 PM

I'm still on the first revision pump and my crickets come and go. But usually aren't around unless there are people around, so it can embarrass itself and I.

Good job, car.

SubiePig 10-29-2013 05:33 PM

I never got my pump replaced, still on the factory one at 11k miles. I won't get a new one till I see this actually resolved. More time in the dealer bay, more time for them to F' something up.

bakerr6 10-29-2013 05:35 PM

mine are worse than before. I'm looking forward to a fix in the near future. I have to take my tail lights back in to be replaced again

Young_makaveli 10-29-2013 10:28 PM

I just ordered the new pump and should get it by the end of the week

Hopefully I can start using petro canada 94 without any chirps :p

Maverick22 10-29-2013 10:48 PM

My dealer rfused to put the updated pump in last week because they had already replaced the pump once.

stevemp5 10-29-2013 11:20 PM

My dealer change my pump today! The tech guy told me this is the new revised pump  I hear no cricket but i just drive the car 20 min .. We will see

I would try it if I were you guys but mine is fixed already :) BRZ :party0030:

... better find some wood to knock on now.

infinite012 10-30-2013 07:43 AM

This is the worst thread ever.

ft_sjo 10-30-2013 08:19 AM

A closet dealer, eh. So that's the secret.

tomt5078 10-30-2013 07:18 PM

I don't put a lot of miles on my cars, owned this things since July 31,2012 and right now I have about 8,750.........Got mine replaced 8/1/2013 with 7,400 miles on it and mine has been fine since!!!!!

jazztennor 10-31-2013 10:46 AM

That's funny cuz in Ocala they have the TSB that Toyota put out for October 17 for the pump and told me it's a brand new part number and it's a better part.

Hmm, how new is this part? I have a 2014 ~300mi on it, and the crickets are starting to peep out from under the hood :(

When I called SOA, they told me it was issued for 2014's and 2013's. So maybe you can call and ask if yours counts for it.

Zoti 10-31-2013 06:15 PM

TSB or STFU :-P

Mine go away and come back. About 2500 miles on the car. Started at around 1500 miles.

PhreshhWun 10-31-2013 06:24 PM

Changed mine at roughly 9000km. Worked for the beginning, crickets came back roughly around 10,700kms ? I can't really tell if better or worse, point being however, still there...

Opie 11-01-2013 07:55 AM

Threads like this are why I don't come here much any more. I was gonna post the TSB, but fuck it.

And for all those naysayers...Subaru released a new pump P/N and TSB on 10/28 so I doubt any of you or your friends have tried it yet.

Pete156 11-01-2013 05:36 PM

Can anyone identify the difference in replacement pump part numbers from last year to this year? I realize there were two different TSBs but I wouldn't put it past Toyota to repeat the process.
It appears that the crickets return eventually regardless of pump replacement if given the time. IMHO there's only one way to stop the crickets from these HPFPs (original or replaced). Take the corn out of the fuel. It works!

qqzj 11-03-2013 06:02 PM

Why not wait and replace the pump close to the end of warranty? The cricket does not bother me that much.
