What you LOVE the most on your FR-S/BRZ/GT86/FT86?
Since there is currently at 78 page thread of HATE, lets try and get a equal amount of LOVE.
What do you love most about your FR-S/BRZ/GT86/FT86? and why? Currently still in the break-in period, but in the rainy PNW I REALLY love when the back-end kicks out when I'm just trying to get to work, class, or just running an errand. Makes commuting so much more fun! :burnrubber: |
Kinda surprised no one has posted here yet. I love how freakin awesome the car looks. I looks better than cars that cost 4x the amount. I also like the attention you get from people as you drive around.
|
Damn!
Deserves Odes in iambic pentameter. Finally something on offer for a reasonable price that I actually like. |
The supreme level of handling and shifter feel is what I love most. I get to eat cake too as this car has back seats that I need in a daily driver. But most of all, the car is sexy and modern. I just love staring at my car :)
|
As my first RWD drive car, it must be RWD + LSD.
|
Positioning and angle of the steering wheel to driver stands out. I've had many sport scars in my younger years that simply were not natural to drive comfortably and confidently. This car inspires confidence in its layout IMO.
|
I love everything about my car
Its my first brand new car And I have no regrets Everyday is a joy |

The car looks very sharp when it's in motion. I was on the highway and caught up to a stock red FR-S and was like...damn the twins look amazing as is. |
Looks good, plenty of mods for it, and comes with all the options I need on the limited model.
|
That I don't have crickets...yet.

but everytime i look at my car i see things that can be improved:mad0259: |
I love the handling, the low center of gravity, the manual gearbox, the cockpit that is all about the driver, the classic good exterior styling, the gas mileage, the reliability, etc...
I love that I look for reasons to drive the car, and also often find myself taking the scenic route... |
In all seriousness, I love how their is no room for my "stuff" in the cabin.
The first time that I drove the car home and noticed this... I realized what a purpose-built car it was :) |
The amazing driving position. Positively amazing.

the steering feel..coming from a Kia Spectra5 it's a world of difference. It's solid and responsive but not too heavy.
the seats..i finally don't slide around when taking a fast corner. the suspension..no more body roll. i'm still in disbelief this is my car. |
No fancy dash, no crazy interior, no high tech crap.
Back to basics and i LOVE IT. |
It's new. It's a Toyota. It looks pretty. Excellent suspension, steering, fueling and brakes. Front engine rear drive. Interior architecture. Fold-flat rear seats. Visibility. Low aluminum hood. Soft rubber dash material. Driver's seat adjustment. Steering wheel adjustment. Excelent weight distribution. Excellent fuel economy. Flared fenders. Pretty headlamps and tail lamps. Smooth six-speed gearbox with paddle shifters. USB ports. Pretty wheels. Automatic windows and door locks. Clever trunk hinges and water runoff routes around trunk. Clean steering wheel. And an infotainment system that doesn't dominate the cabin. I'm sure there are things I've forgotten, but will remember again in a few minutes when I go on a pointless grocery run for the fun of it. At the end of the day I get nearly as much enjoyment out of this car as I ever got out of my little 1970 Fiat. And my Scion doesn't rust. :-)

I like the roooaaarrrr sound when I revving at 7000rpm, it's my first car :)

The shifter feel is incredible.
Car responds to every little input. Driving position is bang on. Such a great car! |
Looks good
RWD LSD Sports car, not a car made "sporty" Good enough fuel economy Thriving aftermarket The best thing is, it has everything I could want in a car. Those above, plus it has AC, decent enough stereo, cruise. No gimmicks like hyndai removing cruise control from their r spec (srs wtf) |
Looks. An outstanding DD stock. And the infinite possibility in the aftermarket.
|
Someone else on this forum said it about a year ago but at the time it struck me as dead on. When you take a corner your spine feels like it's the pivot point. This little car handles like nothing else even when straight out of the box.
|
I love damned near everything about this car, but they've all been mentioned in this thread, the only thing that hasn't been mentioned...
The price. I see lots of guys on lapping days that have spent three times the money on their car, sure doesn't look like they're having three times as much fun as I am. |

It's economical even when thrashing it!
|
New thing to add, I LOVE how the car looks like when its in motion, someone in a white FR-S drove past me and I forgot for a second that I had the same car!
|
the car is great, but the community around it is amazing. so many knowledgeable, willing-to-help-out people out there.
|
Everything. Zero complaints.
|
The seats.
|
Seems to be a bit like what they used to say about the A-4 (the airplane, not the car), that you strap on an A-4, not strap in.
|
Big fan of a nice rear end.
I'm a Bum man, so for me it's definately the rear end.
The roof line over the rear window and to the boot flows so well, and the rear guards above the wheels are a sculptured work of art.:w00t: Last weekend I spent 6 hours cleaning and polishing my 2 week old car because I just had to get my hands all over that rear end. In fact, just writing about my 86 has increased my heart rate and caused a strange sensation in my groin area. "I think it moved" So HORN. |
The extreme low center of gravity due to a boxer engine+the chassis design. BTW iono if its common knowledge, but the center of gravity is just 18 inches off of the ground.
This makes side to side weight transfer amazingly settled for a predictable balanced feel for chicanes and spirited twisties. |
I love everything about it. I came from a 400hp challenger and this just blows it out of the water. It's so much better in every way. I don't even think it's slow to be honest, just gotta rev it high when I want some torque but high RPMs are way more fun anyway
|
I really love the way it handles at the track. Got to experience its potential at SOW. Was really fun and easy to drive. Cant wait to mod it and see how much better it gets.
